235/45 R18 Tire Review Highlights
Writing about the Pirelli Powergy 2 rated 60%
while driving a Volkswagen
Drove these tires on mixed roads . 5k miles so far . I cant say yet about the wear or if i would buy them again . Honestly its fair price for what u get . The comfort is really good and road noise too they are quiet tires . Tested them on highway for like 250 km keeping the car 140/180 km/h . Noticed a bit of vibration(no alignment or balancing problems i dont neglect anything ). The road feedback and grip isn't statisfying . U dont know how much u can push or how much they will hold on corners as the car tends to shift its weight and that scares me a bit causing unnecesary brake or steering corrections . Same also on country roads and mountains on +15°C all conditions When u drive smoothly they are a breeze but sometimes i like to be an aggresive driver and these tires dont give u so much confidence in grip . Drove mostly on dry weather . But for the miles i did on wet is pretty much the same thing . When it comes to breaking they are smooth and really good on low speeds but on city scenarios i had (a lot of them ) when u brake suddenly and hard u cant predict where the car is going to stop . So far saved me a lot of times and they did a good job but still no confidence (Brake pads and discs front and back were changed 1k miles before the tires . (ATE brakes) Grip is different in diferent types of tarmac . Previous tires i had were hankook ventus prime 2 and no compare with pirelli's for the grip . Hankook a lot beter . The car felt glued to the road but now u have to always be extra careful . Overall i can say these tires are for the relaxed and safe drivers and they are really good for comfort ,noise and milleage . Grip is exellent when u are a safe driver and dont push the car . If u drive agressively these tires dont give confidence at all . Not sure buying again.

I bought them in the autumn as an alternative to classic winter tires and have recently switched back to summer tires. They are a great option for mild winters, it is essentially a winter tire oriented towards dry and wet performance in the cold. They feel more like a winter tire, indeed, especially when the temperatures rise above 15c degrees. Handling and braking in snowy conditions is adequate. On slush, the Bridgestones are great. On ice, however, they are rather poor. Main advantages are low noise, decent comfort and great wet performance in the cold. Main disadvantages are poor handling feel/feedback and higher fuel consumption compared to summer tires. Although grip is great at all vehicle speeds, these tires are prone to understeer and you don't really feel where the limit is. Tires I could compare them to are Bridgestone Blizzak LM005, Firestone Winterhawk 4, Bridgestone T005, Linglong Sport Master, Nexen N Blue HD plus, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and the Hankook Ventus Evo I have gotten for this season.

I would recommend them to anyone that only drives in the city, drives a low-powered economy car, a secondary car, doesn't drive daily or lives in a place with mild winters.

An immediate upgrade in driving dynamics! Coming from the Primacy 5, the Cinturato C3 is far more engaging and responsive. It feels like a true 'sporty touring' tire. It’s less plush and quiet than the Michelin, and the rolling resistance is a hair higher, but the grip in all weather conditions is excellent. If you want a tire that makes driving fun without sacrificing too much daily usability, this is it.

Have a pair for the rears on my Skyline R33 weekend car. Installed in Nov 2022 and noticed this month (March 2026) that it has gone down almost to wear bar. A lot of spirited driving in this car, across all seasons down under (spring, summer, autumn, winter). No issue in wet except for one time along tram line. handles great in dry and normal wet condition. Other than that, for the price, I'd say a good pair if you don't mind the wear rate.
When I say wear rate, I meant it wears really fast considering total kms raked on this pair is only 13000 km (or 8000 miles).
I have used different brands on this vehicle before and easily this brand/model has the fastest wear of them all for the mileage covered.

I've now done around 16.000 km / 10.000 miles across all possible conditions, from hot summer to a very snowy winter and can say that it is a fantastic product for normal daily driving. My impressions:
- In summer it feels like a comfort oriented touring tire, which is absolutely fine for an all-season. The grip it there if you push it, it will flex a lot, but it will hold traction very well,
- In the wet it's very impressive, even in cold. The comparison to my previous Michelin Cross Climate 2 is like night and day,
- In snow it fells like an OK/average winter tire, which I think is very good for an all-season. I did try it in all kinds of snow, ice and mud, even on a completely white road in the mountains and didn't any problems with setting off, stopping or turning.
You have to keep in mind that this is not a sports tire, it will not give you any sporty feel, but it's not designed to do so. However, for normal, daily driving, it's very, very good, the first one in my life I could really call an all-season, because it's performing well in all conditions. The previous generation of all-season tires (like the Cross Climate 2 I had) always had a weak spot, but this one doesn't really have one. I am yet to measure the wear, but an eyeball test tells me it's not bad.

Great, always sticky to the road, wet, dry, highway, city. Quasi eternal: already 4 summer, about 40.000 miles (maybe more, I don't track precisely) and they are still good for at least 1 more season. They manage perfectly the acceleration of my model 3.
They are a bit noisy but nothing annoying, btw, it is sensible only on highway. They consume a bit more than A economy tires: my real highway autonomy in summer is 450 km, people with same car and michelin primacy EV manage 500 km (Europe highways: 120 to 130 km/h).
For me, the long life, the grip on heavy rain definitely worth those minor inconvenience, safety first.
When I will have to finally replace them,I will try goodyear F1 eagle, which seems to be in same league, but consume a bit less.

These tires replaced a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 5's.
Early indications show that the Kumho's offer more grip, better feel, are quieter and generally give more confidence over the PS5's.
I rarely review products but these Kumho's have genuinely surprised me. Great product at a fantastic price-point, well done Kumho!

Writing about the Maxxis Premitra All Season AP3 rated 65%
while driving a Tesla Model 3 LR
The tires came on the car when I got it, with 5mm of tread left. Lasted a whole year (17k km) before I replaced them for the next winter, as we have quite cold and snowy winters here. Used for everyday driving on an AWD Model 3, a mix of motorway and city. I don't have much to compare them to, but they seemed competent enough, especially on dry and wet. They did slide around quite a bit in the snow, but breaking was more or less acceptable. Useless on ice, as most all season tires are. No real complaints, no excessive noise, no noticeable impact on range, no weird characteristics. If you want to save some cash and have mild winters, these are definitely an option.
I replaced them with brand new Nokian SeasonProof 2 and, no surprise, the Nokians are better in the snow. We'll see how they fare in summer, I may end up switching back to the Maxxis.
