Bridgestone Turanza EL440 Owner Reviews
Review this tireWhat owners say summarised from 18 reviews
Short tread life and road noise dominate owner feedback on the Bridgestone Turanza EL440, with eight and seven complaints respectively across 18 reviews. Overall satisfaction is low, averaging 40.9%, with nine negative, eight neutral and one positive review. Four comments criticise ride comfort and five question value, while dry and wet grip impressions are divided. Several mid-life and end-of-life accounts describe noise increasing with wear, though there are no repeat reviews establishing how consistently that happens. A few owners like the steering feedback, but that limited praise does not outweigh the recurring wear, noise and comfort complaints.

OEM tire on 2025 Lexus ES350. Slight vibration at highway speeds always seemed to be present. Especially annoying on long drives (10+ hours). Rotated every 5000 miles and had tires balanced at dealer twice with marginal improvement. Finally took the car to a tire dealer with road force machine and two tires failed miserably > 50 lbs with target spec 15 or less - with out-of-round hump visible with naked eye. Also at 18k visit to tire dealer, noticeable wear due to out of alignment even with dealer inspection, oil change and tire rotation every 5000 miles. Tire shop recommends switching to Toyo

Dry performance wasn't bad, but not outstanding, able to handle gentle curves at speed and all the acceleration from a humble Camry.
Wet performance was adequate for gentle driving but did not inspire any confidence in hard braking or acceleration from stop, let alone cornering. Understeer was almost a given in any curve above moderate speed.
Road feel was communicated too well, to the point of harshness. Every crack and imperfection in the road, any patched bits or grooving were immediately felt and heard, and even 2 cm dips in the road around manholes would rattle the cabin. I had to become very familiar with every road imperfection on my commute and how to avoid them.
Winter performance was out of the question. Any unsalted patch of frost on the road would cause loss of traction.
Mileage was consistently between 5.6L/100km and 7.3L/100km on the same stretch of highway and street when driven very gently and very spiritedly, respectively.
Replaced at 46k km with 4 mm of tread left due to worsening wet weather performance.

A dealership alignment emproved the car somewhat, but although it still did not match up to my other two cars, or my previous Mazda ownership experience. At 20k+ mileage 1 tire sucked a nail, I went a local tire dealer for an evaluation/repair, and it was deemed destroyed, but replaceable for $311.00, but none were in stock. This gave me the opportunity to check internet reviews of this tire. The most respected customer reviews rate this tire at no higher than 1-1/2 stars. All other tires are rated no lower than 3. I plan to put a set of Continentals on the car and see if there's any true Mazda fun in it.

As a performance tire, dry traction is mediocre at best. Breaking traction with a measly 170whp is suspiciously easy. Driving on these tires in the rain feels a bit like driving on snow; both times its equally scary. Sidewalls are pretty soft, yet somehow they manage to translate a lot of bumps in the road, and quite a bit of road noise aswell. Not impressive either way honestly.
As a commuter tire its not great either, they've managed to survive 38k miles (rotated every oil change) but they're on the wear bars for sure. All in all they don't come close to justifying the price point.
