I've not tried the Hankook but I would never recommend the ZE310 for a sporty feel.

This was the recommended size by Falken, but the 91H version has done well in other tests too.

If your priority is comfort, the ZE310, if it's sporty driving, the FK510 is the correct tire.

These are internally noisy and have very soft sidewalls leading to sloppy handling. I am proposing to chage them to other 205/55 X16V tires. Falken ZE310, Hankook Prime 3 K125 and Bridgestone T005 have been suggested as possible replacements. The Falkens have a very low external noise performance but I not convinced that this is a reliable guide to the internal noise.
I had a very bad expeiuence with German OEM Dunlop tires on a new BMW 316i in the past and I wonder if the Blue Response tires are of the same ilk? i.e. poor OEM tires.
Internal noise & wet grip are the most important parameters for the replacements and I am willing to trade off ride comfort with slightly stiffer sidewalls.
Any comments you have would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately all modern tires have soft sidewalls as it reduces rolling resistance. You are correct in thinking there isn't necessarily a correlation between external and internal noise, but there is often a link. I have no personal experience with the ZE310 but I have seen tests note it's a good handling tire for its class, so maybe worth a try! One thing worth remembering is that stiffer sidewalls will transmit more vibration through to the chassis increasing internal noise.
Is the Falken ZIEX ZE310 EcoRun suitable for a SUV 4x4 which is only used on road? My car is a 2014 ford Kuga 2.0 titanium powershift. 235 x 55 R17 tires

As long as you meet the load index required by your SUV, there's no reason not to use the ZE310.

Both are excellent tires, getting great reviews. The Hankook might have the edge in wear, but overall they're very similar tires.

A quiet tire, very predictable/forgiving at the limit, especially in the rain, with a soft sidewall.These miles were covered with spirited driving on winding roads.
I never reached the end of these tires life. Mostly on the front then about 5k on back they were down to 4.5 mm at 20K miles - Exchanged the car after that
I never go below 3mm anyway and only do about 6k miles so hard wearing is a waste for me

I reviewed these when I first got them now 500+ miles later I am even more pleased. I have to say straight away that they get scored down for rolling resistance - yet I have had my own best MPG results on some recent journeys so really not an issue. Its the important safety areas that impress me - Wet & Dry handling, nice steering and goes where you point it, good braking and traction in the wet - happy with tire wear this far.
On this car I started with the Conti PC5 these were fine but a little more bumpy and just OK in the wet. VG in the dry. Then I tried the Dunlop Sp Sport Blue response which had a nicer ride and a bit better handling in the wet - about the same in the dry - traction was occasionally an issue in the wet. The Falkens exceed both of these tires all round and are noticably cheaper

Might be decent tires for a family sedan but not the best choice for a coupe driven spiritedly. Grip and noise degradation were noticable by the 4th year. In all aspects, better than Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance and nowhere near Michelin PS3s on this car.

Picked these up 3 days ago to replace my 4 year old Rapid P609, which honestly wore out way too fast at around 13,000 km. Was deciding between this and the 520 model, but at about $170 each it was an easy choice.
Originally was looking at PS5, RE003, AD09, MC7, but the price on those are almost double, so decided to give these a go instead in 235/40/18.
First impression, the drop in road noise is seriously noticeable. Same highway run over the weekend and the cabin is way quieter. Even in a 90s car you can feel the difference. Now I can actually hear more of my exhaust than tire noise, which says a lot.
Have not tested in the wet yet, will update later once I do.
Cornering wise, feels about the same as the P609 when it was new. Maybe slightly better but that could just be because these are fresh and the old ones were basically on the wear bar. Still, confidence is there.
Ride comfort over bumps is pretty similar too, even though I went from 45 series to 40 series, so no real complaints there.
Treadwear is rated at 320 same as the P609, so hopefully these last a lot longer and keep the noise down over time. Will see how they go with some spirited driving.
Have just completed 1 front set of these tires, replaced faulty Michelin Primacy 4's (developed slow puncture after only a few hundred miles - gutted!), and I only bought them as that's what the first tire place I pulled into had in stock, and were recommended by the owner...
For a so-called "budget tire" this one thinks it's a premium! I have been really impressed with the wet & dry handling (loses it in the snow + ice, but it IS a summer tire, adjust accordingly). The wear is phenomenal, it has lasted as long as the Primacy 4's (on the back with 10,000 miles on them), on a FWD car, meaning all the weight & wear is over them, and they have now all died around the 32,000 mile mark! The only aspect to these tires in a negative sense; is the handling/feedback, which is lacking...but something has to give for the grip and longevity. Road noise is also an issue, as if you feed these fresh tarmac, all good, but on the old worn and knackered roads (increasing more and more lately sadly), the noise is bad, vibrations and transfer through the steering, and not in a good way; the feel and feedback you want...but it IS a heavy tire. On that point, the economy is also lacking, but there are far worse out there in the world. These will never compete with the likes of the Goodyear EfficientGrip, but equally all those positives HAVE to have a drawback somewhere...they aren't the worst! They handle/perform predictably right up until the very end, with no major fluctuation in behavior, which is also to be praised.
Would I buy these same tires again? Yes. I don't really understand why they are so close in price and almost all areas, to the Azenis (in some places are actually more expensive), to be fair I believe these have a longer mileage/life all things being equal. I have chosen to replace all 4 wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1-Asy6's, and the only real reason I did, was because the outlet offered 20% off a set of 4, which TECHNICALLY made them cheaper per unit than the Falkens.If it wasn't for that, I would likely have picked these again.

I want to buy it again but they no longer produce 92 load index for new ziex.

Put them on my kia at 280,000kms, now at 302,000kms and showing very little signs of wear with almost full tread depth still.
Do quite a bit of dirt road driving also and no problems at all.
I bought these to replace the generic Chinese tires that came with my Fiesta Mk8 when I bought it. Those old ones caused a few oversteer moments when joining the motorway, so I decided it was time for a change. The first impression after switching was that the oversteer issues disappeared, and all four wheels now feel much more planted, at least in dry and hot conditions.
Front-end grip is good and gives a clear sense of what the car is doing. You can easily tell whether you still have traction or are starting to lose it. Braking performance is also decent, with quick and predictable reactions. Ride comfort has improved noticeably too, with a softer response over sharp-edged potholes.
Given the price and the tires they replaced, this might sound like a very positive review. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend these as a first choice for a powerful or performance-oriented car, but if you’re looking for a solid, economical tire for a ten-year-old city car that mostly drives in dry, warm conditions, these Falkens are a pretty good option.
Used these tires for about 30k km so far. I think the tires performs great, in both dry or wet. My point of reference are against my parent's car with continental ecocontact 6q, which gave me no feedback in the wet, and actually aquaplaned.
Which is something I never experience here, I think the feedback and response from these tires are good.
Only think that's weaker for these tires are the rolling resistants, which is quite high. So my fuel consumption went up a bit compared to my older toyo nanoenergy 3.
The tires are also quite quiet, especially considering they're not very expensive. Would certainly consider getting falken again.
I bought my car secondhand. The buyer told me the tires had been replaced, but I didn't check, believing them. When I decided to replace the tires, I learned that the tires hadn't been replaced, and they had been used for about six years (including my own use) and covered about 70,000 km. Thankfully, I haven't experienced any problems, so I'm replacing them. Since the tires have been trouble-free for so long, I bought the same ones again.
