For 2024 Autobild's motorhome magazine tested ten sets of 225/55 R17 tires using a van like Mercedes Vito Tourer.
The onset of the travel season marks a crucial time for motorhome owners to evaluate the condition and performance of their tires. Autobild’s comprehensive review begins with practical advice on tire inspection, emphasizing the significance of understanding tire age through the DOT code and the necessity of regular checks for wear and damage. Generally speaking, tires which are over five years old are nearing the end of their life, even if they have good tread depth.
As for any of their excellent tire tests, Autobild evaluated key factors such as aquaplaning resistance, handling stability, braking efficiency, and rolling resistance across various tire brands.
Bridgestone, Continental, Hankook and Michelin finish with strong results, with Bridgestone and Continental actually tying for first place overall and Hankook and Michelin tying for third!

While you are accessing the various sub-entities within the A. B. stable, would it be possible to access the Klassik variant in order to extract the classic tire tests A. B. performss?
I'll see what I can find!
Thanks Jonathan. One thing that I've found interesting in the two past tests which I've accessed indirectly is the relative merits of an indifferent & obsolescent "modern" tire (the Maxxis MAP1) compared to the "classic" tires tested. Wet results are fascinating. I would have thought that, given the value of the vehicles which use them & the low use most have, longevity would be a low priority & wet grip compounding a very high priority. But not so it seems.
If you like random tests with surprising wet results, check out this one https://www.tyrereviews.com...
Interesting!
