Across 16 tests the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 shows a clear pattern of strong on-road grip in the dry (often near the top for braking and handling) and generally competitive wet grip on braking/handling when aquaplaning is not the limiting factor. It also repeatedly scores well on efficiency metrics in ADAC-style testing (notably fuel consumption) and can deliver good comfort/low noise in some fitments (e.g., motorhome test).

Its most consistent weakness is hydroplaning resistance-especially straight-line aquaplaning and curved aquaplaning-where it frequently ranks in the bottom quartile and sometimes last. This aquaplaning deficit likely explains several middling overall results despite otherwise good braking/handling. Noise performance is also inconsistent, ranging from class-leading to last depending on test and size/vehicle.

When braking with the steering wheel slightly turned, the Hankook can lose grip. Aquaplaning resistance is a strong point of the Hankook Ventus Prime 4. On dry roads, the Hankook is usually precise, but can drop slightly at the rear during evasive maneuvers - not dangerous but unpleasant. Tire noise and high rolling resistance drag down the Hankook's overall score to 8.4 points.
