Summary The Falken Ziex ZE310 Ecorun, despite being seven years old, showed mixed performance across various tests. Its strengths were in aquaplaning resistance and refinement, performing well in both curved and straight aquaplaning tests and offering good cabin noise reduction and bump absorption. However, the tire struggled significantly in wet and dry performance tests. It ranked near the bottom in wet braking, cornering, and handling, demonstrating less grip than its competitors. Dry performance was also subpar, with the tire finishing last in dry braking and sixth in dry handling. Despite its age suggesting it might have good fuel efficiency, the Ecorun surprisingly showed poor rolling resistance. The overall results indicate that while the tire has some strong points, there is considerable room for improvement in key performance areas. Results The Falken Ziex ZE310 Ecorun achieved an overall score of 97.80%, priced at £98.65. It performed well in aquaplaning tests, ranking 3rd in curved aquaplaning (92.70%) and tied for 4th in straight aquaplaning (97.30%). The tire also tied for 3rd in cabin noise (95.40%). However, it struggled in wet conditions, ranking 7th in wet braking (93.00%), 8th in wet handling (96.20%), and tied for 6th in wet cornering (98.5%). Dry performance was also weak, with 8th in dry braking (94.30%) and tied for 6th in dry handling (98.50%). The tire ranked 7th in rolling resistance (87.20%), indicating poor fuel efficiency. .

Its handling at the limit is also rated as just satisfactory, though it does receive a good rating for its braking distance. In wet conditions, the Falken Ziex ZE 310 EcoRun performs better, securing good ratings in braking distance measurements and aquaplaning resistance, but narrowly misses a good rating in handling. While the vehicle can be safely driven on the course, increased grip and precision would improve its performance. Environmentally, the Falken Ziex ZE 310 EcoRun only achieves a satisfactory rating. It scores well for projected mileage and wear, but its status as the heaviest tire in the test leads to only an adequate rating in that criterion. Its fuel consumption is barely rated as good, and sustainability, particularly for tires produced in Turkey, is deemed adequate.

Driving safety: The Falken ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN sets the bar high on dry roads and also secures a good rating on wet roads, which leads to a good assessment of driving safety. The Falken secured the top mark in the test on dry roads. It offers the driver exemplary feedback on the steering wheel, is absolutely safe at the limit and also impresses with a short braking distance. The Falken ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN also gets a good rating on wet roads. It gets good ratings for braking distance measurements, lateral aquaplaning and wet handling. The test car can be driven safely and easily controlled over the course. Only in lateral aquaplaning does it not get beyond a satisfactory rating. Environmental balance: When it comes to the environmental balance, the ZIEX ZE310 does not get more than a satisfactory result. It does get good ratings for its predicted mileage and abrasion, but since it's quite heavy in comparison, it doesn't get more than a satisfactory rating for efficiency. In terms of sustainability, the tire produced in Turkey does not go beyond an adequate assessment.
