Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Top 3 Dunlop Sp Sport Maxx 050 Reviews

Given 53% while driving a Honda ZR V SPORT e:HEV (225/55 R18) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
Extremely poor in terms of grip on wet roads. Dry road performance is better, but whenever you need to accelerate quickly from a standstill or low speed, you invariably experience significant wheelspin. Handling is good; you can drive it quickly through corners, and the steering feedback is also quite satisfactory. The tire tends to be loud on the motorway. If these tires weren't standard on a car from the factory, I would never choose them, given their characteristics.

Given 84% while driving a Ford Mustang (255/35 R18) on a combination of roads for 12,000 spirited miles
Really great tires and the price was great as well. These 050 Dunlop Sport Maxx tires are simply amazing on the front of my Mustang. The ride and handling were greatly improved over Toyo Proxies I previously had on the car.

Given 50% while driving a Lexus ES300H (235/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 20,000 average miles
Currently one year old factory tires on Lexus ES 300h are terrible since beginning. Car drives better on winter set on wet in 10deg C than on those summers. I was experiencing understeer driving on runabouts behind van. Mediocre on dry: some understeer, terrible on wet, but quiet, comfortable, probabbly coumpound aging well, but bad from beginning.

Initial Impressions Review
Given 44% while driving a Toyota Innova (225/50 R18) on a combination of roads for 18,600 average miles
Have this tire fitted on my Toyota MPV that's not sold in Europe. It has roughly 30,000 km now, or around 18,600 miles. The front tires have maybe 10% tread left, the rear maybe 30%. I rotated the tires at 10,000 km, so they would've worn out earlier otherwise. It's unacceptable. The ride is harsh, the noise is almost unbearable, and the grip in the wet is not great. It's decent in the dry, and high speed stability is fine, so it's not all bad I guess. I don't get why Toyota in my country decided it's a good idea to fit UHP summer tires on a hybrid, 7-seater MVP. The car is about comfort and efficiency, not performance. But even for performance cars, I wouldn't recommend these tires.
