215/45 17 Tire Review Highlights

Maxxis Premitra HP6 rated 73% while driving a Ford Fiesta MK8 Ecoboost (100hp)
Driving on mostly country roads for 6000 spirited miles
I have the OE version of the tire for BMW, which is a AAA version in 215/45 17. They were mounted on the rear axle of a Ford Fiesta ST Line 155 MH for testing.
Continental Premium Contact 6 tires are used up front.
The MAXXIS tires are very quiet, precise, and light. I'm convinced they're absolutely on par with the Continentals, as my car zips around fast corners with absolute neutrality and remains neutral with every load change.

Michelin Primacy HP rated 40% while driving a Toyota Scion FR S
Driving on a combination of roads for 30000 spirited miles
These were the OEM tire on my Scion FR-S. And I hate them. I genuinely think they ruin the car. The limits of grip are low - which is what the engineers of the car claim was the point of choosing this tire - but the handling characteristics on these tires makes the whole car unpredictable and difficult to drive, especially approaching the limits of the tires. Oversteer can happen suddenly, and dangerously when driving spiritedly. The car will snap from understeer to oversteer due to the limit characteristics.
The best thing you can do with these tires is take them to a drift event at your local track and destroy them as quickly and smokily as possible. And it will take a very long time, because they have a *very* long life. Hopefully you can learn some drifitng in the process though.
Ride comfort isn't all that good either.
But I think they are dangerous in the wet.
And this car feels better on winter tires than on these eco-crap-tastic tires.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 rated 76% while driving a Toyota 2014

The F1A5 was fitted as the front tires in my second-hand car by the previous owner. I'm very pleased with the dry handling down to the wear indicator. It shouts when reaching its limit but never let go in the corner in dry condition. However, wet handling is not that great near the end of the tire's life. Be extra careful if you want to squeeze its life after 30000km of use in wet. The ESP saved me from crashing as I reached the wear indicator in a damped corner. In terms of treadwear, it reaches the treadwear indicator after around 35000km: Easy going for most mileage but hard use on the mountain. I enjoy my time in the mountain around 5 times a year only.

Overall, I'm pleased with the tires and reckon the previous owner made a great choice. I'm going to buy a set of F1A6 for my coming purchase!

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rated 60% while driving a Renault clio 197

Had them on a fully stock 3rd gen Clio RS with Cup package, used them 50/50 road/small racetrack. Definitely not the fastest semislick, but the most civilized ones - extremely predictable at the limit, surprisingly good in wet and low temps (do not aquaplain on highway at 140 kph at full wet conditions). NVH similar to Bridgestone Potenza Sport. Sadly the wear was horrible, although I assume it was mostly due to a combination of stock (ca. -0,5 deg) camber and track usage.

Bought two sets of these now to use on my Clio for trackdays, the grip and wear rate on these tires are amazing. I managed to get 7 Full trackdays out of the first set and was impressed enough to buy another set.

Laufenn S Fit AS rated 77% while driving a Volvo Proton Suprima S

The Laufenn S Fit AS 215/45ZR17 has proven to be a solid tire choice for my Proton Suprima S. It have excellent value for money compared to cheap China tires (please consider this brand before getting china tire). With a price of RM200+ per tire, it handles Malaysian road conditions and weather well, providing decent performance in both dry and wet conditions, good grip, and comfort. The ride is quiet, and the durability has been impressive, even after regular use. It’s a better option for anyone looking for reliable tire without breaking the bank. For those considering cheap alternatives, I’d highly recommend the Laufenn S Fit AS, definitely better than LingLong etc

Dunlop SP Sport LM 705 rated 73% while driving a Toyota Camry

Have the lm705s on a 2021 camry le 215 55 17 iirc. Compared to stock Bridgestone ecopia's very similar. The ecopias cost $180, The lm705s for $78. These were the only name brands in this price range other then sumitomos and that are made in japan. Dunlops are made by sumitomo tho so. The lm705s say sumitomo rubber ltd on them. The lettering on the dunlops lm704s are the same as the sumitomo tires which, imo look cheap. The stock bridgestones lettering looked nicer. Overall tires perform well with the camry in Dry and even wet. Read the reviews on wet being lack luster which was a concern in south florida but seemed to perform well. For the price, it's what you can expect for these sumitomos, I mean dunlops.

Yokohama BluEarth Es ES32 rated 84% while driving a Toyota Prius

A fuel-economy tire with great comfort credits. This tire will never please the boy-racer brigade, but some of us regard that as a bonus. On to my second set of these Blue-Earth after over 160,000 km of daily commute and occasional holiday travel. Quiet, comfortable and reliable. Fuel economy is up there with the very best, with wet braking on par with tires twice the price. Unsure what "Orange Oil" is, it sounds like something I use to remove glue residue. I think these tires represent great value and I would very much like to recommend them.

Petlas SnowMaster 2 Sport rated 75% while driving a Skoda Fabia Mk4 1.5 TSI ACT

I've been using it for 4 months and have driven approximately 5000 km. The majority of this was in the city and on the unpaved road where my workplace is located. The tire performs very well on both dry and wet surfaces, with a good braking distance. I had no issues on snow either. In terms of noise, you can hear the tires at every speed. For me, it was a great price/performance tire, and I can say it has been successful in this regard. If it maintains the same softness next season, I believe it will continue to satisfy me greatly.

Riken Riken Snow rated 87% while driving a Vauxhall Corsa
Driving on mostly country roads for 4000 average miles
got these on a corsa van and they are great in the snow and not noisy on the road, good wear properties for the blocky tread pattern. Bought some more for the rears to replace the verdenstiens which are not as good in the snow.
