Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Review Summary

Based on 86 user reviews

Drivers largely praise the Bridgestone Adrenalin RE003 for its outstanding dry grip, sharp turn-in, and predictable, confidence-inspiring handling-often noting excellent value for money for a street-focused performance tire. Many report good feedback and stability, with some achieving respectable mileage for its 220 treadwear class. Wet performance is generally acceptable for everyday use but can deteriorate as the tire wears and is more prone to hydroplaning in heavy rain. A number of users also note rising road noise (and a firmer ride) as tread wears.

Strengths
  • Excellent dry grip and cornering
  • Responsive steering and strong feedback
  • Predictable handling at the limit
  • Good value for money
  • Decent wear for a performance tire when properly maintained
Areas for Improvement
  • Wet grip declines as tread wears
  • Prone to hydroplaning in heavy rain/standing water
  • Road noise increases with wear

Given 44% while driving a Holden (225/50 R16) on mostly motorways for 12,000 easy going miles
Put a sript on my vt commodore s pac. extermely hard ride even with the pressures dropped right down. Had them checked at Bridgestone for balance and out of roundness. All came back good. You feel every imperfection on the road and get a vibrating feeling through the car. Not a wheel wobble .Road noise isincredible. Have had the complete car checked from transmission to tail shafts to brakes replaced but the problem still persists. Changed wheels from my other vt and problem gone. I run Bridgestones on my other 4 vehicles and never had an issue. These tires just dont seem to marry with the car. Had the car since new and only has 13500klm on the speedo. I would never buy these again or recommend them.

Given 80% while driving a Toyota Camry (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 5,000 spirited miles
Good tires s all around. I have used them every day for about a year now, and the wear on them is quite good, only having to replace them now. The grip on them in the dry is really good; they are quite responsive. The grip was also really good in the wet when they were new. However, after a couple months of use, the grip changed to be significantly worse and unpredictable in the wet compared to the dry. I know I only drive an old Toyota Camry, but you would be surprised how many cars I beat in races on tight and twisty roads, all thanks to these tryes, the car handles way better than it would on normal tires. Overall, I would recommend them great tires.

Given 63% while driving a Ford Falcon BFII XR6 (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 25 average miles
I bought 4 Bridgestone Potenza Adrendlin RE003 tires for $305 each back in 2022 for my Ford Falcon XR6. I had them for 2.5 years, they were good tires however the wear was poor only 25,200 kms for such an expensive tire which is very disappointing. Won't be buying these again.

My previous tires performance:-
4 Hankook tires Ventus S1 Noble 2 H452 28,000 kms (okay for the price)
4 Pirelli P1 Cinturato 51,000 kms (best tires ever, just too expensive)
4 Dunlop SP Sport 01 22,000 kms (I will never buy these tires again)

Given 94% while driving a BMW 3 series (225/45 R17) on for 18,000 miles
This is my second set of RE003s on my BMW E90 equipped with KW Street Comfort and brake upgrades—I’ve just moved to RE005s very recently. The RE003 has always struck me as a proper driver’s tire: the sidewall is noticeably stiff, which gives the car a more direct, responsive front end than the standard Michelin PS4. It’s also clearly grippier in the dry—more stable mid-corner, holds the line confidently, and the car stays nicely balanced without that typical understeer you get with softer PS4 tires. Turn-in feels sharp, and when it finally does let go, it’s progressive and easy to catch. RE003 has a stiffer carcass than the top-of-the-line Michelin PS4S, the tire is even a little more responsive and more stable in the corner, albeit with a bit less outgrip. Compared to the older S001 on my car, however, the RE003 is a touch less razor-direct, but you get more dry grip in return. The trade-off is comfort: that stiff carcass makes the ride feel slightly firmer than a lot of competitors. But it still rides reasonably well for my taste and has good grip and road texture feedback. Wet performance is acceptable rather than impressive. It’s fine in normal rain, but it’s not in the same league as modern tires like the PS5, and it’s definitely more prone to hydroplaning. Wear is also just about OK for a performance tire—reasonable, but you’re clearly paying for grip.

Initial Impressions Review
Given 85% while driving a Ford fiesta st (205/40 R17) on a combination of roads for 50,000 spirited miles
The RE003's replaced the OEM RE050's and have clocked up over 60,000 kms. These tires have a treadwear rating of 220, much higher than RE050's, hence the increased mileage. But that takes nothing away from the crisp, direct steering response and sure footed dry grip with every turn of the wheel. The RE003's have a completely different tread pattern than 050's, with wide outer shoulders and stiffer sidewalls that make cornering enthusiastically adictive. The chassis of the Fiesta ST is brilliant, and supplemented by the RE003's, which never fail to put a smile on the dial every single time. Wet weather grip is good at the speed limit, but like any tire during heavy, persistant rain, and standing water, caution is advised. Have researched the merits of many other tires, unfortuntely, some of which aren't available due to larger wheel sizing or exorbident pricing. The RE003's consistently offer better bang for your buck for what I would describe as a talented all rounder with a sporty edge for spirited driving when the need arises. With 10 years of competiive motorsport experience driving several top track orientated tires, the RE003's are no slouch for a street tire. At the time of writing, they are again being offered, "buy 3 and get 4th free," making them better value than PS5's or Conti's or Eagles.

Given 81% while driving a Holden Caprice 6ltr (245/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 7,000 spirited miles
I dont understand some of these reviews on here. These are max performance summer tires. You don't buy this kind of tire for comfort, very cold use, monsoon rains or long life, these are hardcore extremely grippy 220 treadwear, stiff sidewall soft compound tires and tire pressures are critical. I have these tires on a 500hp 700nm modified 6.0L heavy 1.9 tonne car, I also have them on a fwd turbo car. The dry grip of these tires...is super aggressive & insane. Bit slower to respond off centre than the fastest responding tires but once you have turned in response is virtually immediate, very good feedback. Better grip and handling than tires ive tried Potenza Sport, F1 Asym 3, Yoko V105, PS4, eagle f1 Sport, re050a, Pzero. Potenza sport is closest. RE003 were similiar to Yoko AD08 not quite as aggressive or hard as AD08 but close. Tires light up super easy with everything above except Potenza sport, RE003, or AD08. They grab so hard even in the wet off takeoff it really suprised me. Aquaplaning was suprisingly good for me also straight is excellent at ejecting water, curved aquaplaning is still good but a little lower approximately a 5km/hr lower limit than Potenza Sport. They are the first tire i had on the fwd turbo which engaged the torque vectoring properly and hooked up the inside wheel fast and hard with any steering angle pulling the car aggressively hard into the corner. These tires are incredible for the price.

Given 83% while driving a Infiniti Q50 (245/40 R19) on mostly town for 2,000 average miles
These tires were fitted on my Infiniti Q50S when I purchased the vehicle, only driven 2000kms thus far so can't comment on wear. These tires are a great balance between everyday comfort and performance. Grip and predictability in both wet as well as dry conditions seems to be very good. Nil issues with comfort nor road noise.

Given 76% while driving a Ford Focus ST225 (225/45 R18) on track for 20,000 spirited miles
Have these tires on my 2009 Ford Focus ST (ST225), overall great for the price, a mix between performance and daily driving. I go out every weekend to the mountains and push them to the limit and they hold on well. Would buy again.

Given 80% while driving a Honda Accord Euro (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 34,175 average miles
Had these tires for 5.5 years and 55,000 kms on a Honda Accord Euro CL9 225/45r17 wheels doing regular suburban driving and the occasional long weekend road trips interstate. Rotations, balancing and alingment were done every 10k kms. The tires started to go bald at 45000kms, with improving dry grip. For a low horsepower/low torque car the tires are very stable, good wet and dry grip - didnt slip or hydroplane, good cornering stability, decently quiet and good at absorbing road bumps and imperfections.

I would have preferred if they lasted 65000km, but I'm not fussed as they did give me 5.5years out of them.

Given 84% while driving a Subaru 04 WRX (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 40,000 spirited miles
I just bought a new set of these after running the same tires for 4.5 years and 40,000km. The price has gone up, but traditionally, the RE003s have been good performance tires for one who is on a budget. I have previously run Re003s, before that S007s, and before that Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3s, so the WRX has seen a few different tires in my 13 years of ownership, averaging 10,000 a year. NVH is noticeable greater than the Eagle F1s and S007s, but the price is much lower. Performance wise, i have found that they give good feedback and are not vague or anything like that. They are not a track tire, but rather a solid street performance tire. In the wet with AWD, they feel very capable and I have pushed them a bit in such conditions, but others I know with 2wd vehicles have been less enthusiastic about their Re003s in the wet. They are capable in the rain, but not awesome. The Re004 has not been released in Australia, but I have heard that they are better in the wet. Dry performance is great with these, they are very good for spirited driving. Steering feedback is good and predictable at the limit to my mind. The set I just replaced I ran in my WRX since August 2019 and they went a full 40,000 and I had a tiny bit of inner wear that (if not present) could have made them last 43,000 or so. Noted, I did rotate every 6-10 months in that time and I did not always drive spiritedly, but would make sure the engine did not grow any proverbial cobwebs either.

A great all round tire, comfortable, responsive and quite. Could not fault wet grip, not that I race, but for around town, instills confidence. Wear is acceptable - would recommend this tire highly - and am buying my next set tomorrow.
