Passenger Car Summer Premium Touring Tires Tire Review Highlights

Michelin Primacy 4 Plus rated 97% while driving a SEAT Ibiza
Driving on a combination of roads for 7000 spirited miles
Very good tires, no issues regarding grip level in wet or dry weather. The handling is great and so is road noise, noticeably quieter than the Nexen on the rear of the car. So far tread level looks nearly identical to new having done around 7000 miles. All in all they are great tires as you’d expect from Michelin.

Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 rated 69% while driving a Toyota Corolla
Driving on mostly town for 7000 average miles
These tires fitted to a Toyota Corolla Estate (hybrid) do well in reviews and they are good to drive on very predictable, road noise is average, handling is good in wet and dry. Fuel economy seems good too. Tread wear is very disappointing they are on the front but I have done bout 7-8k miles and they are down to 5mm and un likely to to more than 3k more. For this reason I don't think I would buy again

Yokohama BluEarth Es ES32 rated 86% while driving a Honda Jazz
Driving on mostly town for 42000 easy going miles
I’m using these tires on my Honda Jazz — admittedly a bit of an overkill for a compact hatchback, but I specifically wanted a wider tire than the stock 175s. I’ve been extremely pleased with the performance.

For everyday driving, the grip is excellent in both dry and wet conditions — surprisingly, it performs even better in the wet. It handles puddles effortlessly, and the car feels stable and planted on the road. Braking distances are also impressive.

The ride quality is very comfortable overall. If I had to be picky, the last 3,000 km have been slightly less smooth as the tread wore down, but that’s to be expected.

All things considered, this tire definitely punches above its weight. Given the car I drive and my driving style, I’d absolutely buy it again.

Michelin Primacy 5 rated 91% while driving a Mazda 6
Driving on mostly motorways for 4500 spirited miles
Previously was using primacy 4 for 57k km for 3yrs plus. It was a very durable tire, good dry/wet grip thus i change to primacy 5 recently.

Compare to 4, this is an upgrade. Quieter, better grip n more comfortable, maybe this is new. And wat i like abt Michelin is, they have very flat n sporty sidewalls.

Yokohama BluEarth GT AE51 rated 83% while driving a BMW E30 318is
Driving on a combination of roads for 9000 average miles
Much better than the Sumitomo BC100 I had in previously. I immediately notice they were much quieter and noticeably more comfortable than the BC100s I had no real problems in the dry or in the wet. They've performed well in emergency braking situations on my non-ABS car and are not easy to lock up on dry average quality pavement. The loss of grip is progressive and more manageable than the previous tires I had. I've noticed a slight tendency to understeer on very tight corners but that could be suboptimal alignment. In the wet they are more difficult to spin than the Sumitomos and that's a good thing because Greek pavement is not grippy in the rain. As for wear, after about 15000km they had about 5mm tread and that's pretty good considering the fact that I do take my car for spirited drives often. Overall I'd buy again but I'd also like to try the Adan Flevas and see if they're worth the price difference.

Continental Premium Contact 2 rated 60% while driving a Skoda Superb mk2 2.0tdi cr estate
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 spirited miles
Had them on my superb for 6 month and fronts are just gone. Lasted for about 5k miles, which is just shocking. Had wheel alignment done right before getting these on.

Goodyear EfficientGrip Compact rated 33% while driving a Fiat Seicento 899
Driving on a combination of roads for 5 average miles
I've had a lot of Goodyear tires in the past & usually rate them quite highly but these efficient grip have got to be one of the worst tires I've ever had. They have been on for only 6 months & 5,000 miles & even with regular rotating, maintaining correct tire pressures etc all 4 tires have worn down to 3/4 mm in that short amount of time & mileage which I think is unacceptable considering they are supposed to be a "premium" brand. Goodyear should have called these "not efficient grip" as the dry & wet grip is awful & also the amount of tire fold which occurs when driving in a spirited manner is just something else. So to sum things up I don't usually buy budget tires but I've had better budget tires that came with cars I've bought than these ditch finders. I'm ditching these tires this week for a set of Uniroyal's, I'd heard recently that Goodyear had been bought out by a budget brand & it definitely shows, they used to be my go to buy after these tires I will not be purchasing Goodyear's ever again

Toyo NanoEnergy 3 rated 45% while driving a Alfa Romeo Series 4 spider
Driving on mostly country roads for 1500 average miles
Tires seem OK until it comes to.wet grip when they become almost dangerous had a really bad moment in France car span coming out of an island and a really bad moment on braking, money back please have used proxis before great in the wet.

Continental PremiumContact 7 rated 49% while driving a Peugeot 308
Driving on mostly motorways for 22000 average miles
I got these tires on the car then I bought it 1 year ago (previous owner has done 8.000km with them), now the tires have done 35.000km / 22.000mi and the wear is by far the worst I have ever seen! The tread is already down to 3,5mm which means I'll probably wear them out by the end of summer. We do not drive like maniacs, this is a family diesel estate car with 120hp. We've had similar wear of the same tire model on another car (Volvo XC60) which are down to 5mm after 25.000km.
Otherwise, the tires are good in the dry and average in the wet. I won't be buying these again, my next choice will be the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2, of which I had two sets on other cars and they were flawless.

Dunlop SP Sport FM800 rated 79% while driving a Volkswagen up!
Driving on a combination of roads for 22000 average miles
Fitted to a 2012 VW Up @ 148000km, 4th set of tires I've put on this car since I bought it new. Excellent dry grip and handling, especially when punting the car through twisty country roads. Wet weather grip is very good, and I felt confident on these tires even in the most challenging of conditions where I live. Good steering feel and feedback. A tad noisy, especially at the limit, but I've had much worse. Wear is a bit disappointing compared to previous tires I've had on this car (I'm used to getting around 50000km per set), but perhaps this is a characteristic of being a somewhat sporty tire. Other than the relatively short lifespan, I have no complaints.

Bridgestone Turanza 6 rated 46% while driving a Renault Laguna II
Driving on a combination of roads for 15500 average miles
I bought these Bridgestone Turanza 6s to replace the T005s, which didn't last more than 25,000 km (15,500 ml's). They wore a lot on the outside. I was hoping they'd improve their durability and, above all, address the problem the new T005s had. The car swayed excessively at low speeds (I replaced everything that needed to be replaced in the suspension and steering). With these Turanza 6s, everything remains the same. The sidewalls are so soft and fragile that even with high pressure (2.7 bar), even when stationary, shaking the car, it doesn't stop swaying. In short, a tire that doesn't provide any driving safety, despite excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions. I'll have to switch brands.
