“I replaced these tires for my previous factory fitted yokohama A460. After 60,000 km. I put V552 for 8,000km. The new tire is very comfortable and silent. For over 120 km/h the tires feel floating, changing lane at that...”

Yokohama Advan dB V552 Owner Reviews
Review this tireWhat owners say summarised from 7 reviews
Ride comfort is the clearest strength of the Yokohama Advan dB V552, praised in six of seven owner reviews. Quiet running also attracts broad support, with five favorable comments and one complaint, making relaxed everyday driving its most consistent appeal. Grip is less convincing: three reviews criticise dry grip against two praising it, while wet-grip comments are too few and divided for a firm conclusion. Two of seven reviews describe a floating or unsettled feel at higher speeds. Five reviews are positive overall, but the small number of accounts makes comfort a firmer conclusion than handling or long-term wear.

As a touring tire, it’s just about OK dynamically—soft sidewalls and calm responses that suited the chassis as intended. Push on a bit and the Mazda3 shows some entry and mid-corner understeer, and the tire wallows a bit like you’d expect from a touring tire, but it’s progressive, predictable, and still easy to read at the limit. Outright grip is fine for what it is.
The Advan db is very comfortable tires. It’s quite absorbent over very bumpy road in my city and fits Mazda’s engineering approach well—keeps the ride settled and quiet. In the wet, it’s decent and safe, but feels inferior next to more sporty tires like the Michelin PS5 I had on other cars.
For daily commuting, it does the job and complements the car’s sporty yet refined for its class well enough. But I wanted a bit more sportiness from my tire so the move to a soft-sidewall performance tire like the Michelin PS5 or Continental MC7 is next on the list.

Where the Advan db live up to the standard is comfort. It’s quite absorbent over terrible road surfaces in my city and fits Mazda’s engineering approach—keeps the ride settled and quiet. In the wet, it’s decent and safe, but feels average next to newer, more sporty tires like the Michelin PS5 I had on other cars.
