185/65 R15 Tire Review Highlights
Writing about the Continental EcoContact 6 rated 57%
while driving a Volkswagen Polo 1.0TSI
A horrible experience with OEM Continental Eco Contact 6 (after 30.000 they were destroyed more than the limit, cracking, etc.; horrible on wet, changed their colour, etc., etc.; had a great consumption though, but it is too big a compromise just for that).

Honestly, I think they go too eco with this tire and that any touring tire is unbeatable in comparison with an eco tire.

Would not buy again.

I have been driving Hankook Winter i*cept RS 3 as a winter tire for 4 years now in combination with crazy weather (from snow and ice in -15 to the heat of + 15 degrees). This is a perfect tire that I push hard sometimes and test in various conditions. Even as Goodyear UGP3 had better results in tests and seems to be an even better tire for my car, I don't really see any need for it. Hankook really does everything great and even more than that.

It should do ok on normal everyday drive. However when pushed it's not giving me confidence. I think main concern is wet grip. Despite my thin tires its struggling with standing water. Also sidewall isn't firm it gives kind of jelly feeling. Better than cheap tires but not good enough if youre reliant on your tires.

After first season with these tires I was impressed with the improvement they are over Fuld EcoControl HP I've used before on the same car.

They are not as noisy, they seem ok comfort wise, dry and wet grip and breaking seems fine. I do believe the premium price is worth paying for Dunlops over some cheaper midrange or lower range tires. After first 5000 miles no noticeable wear.

These tires give out the quality and premium feeling all in all.

I've driven these tires for seven full summer seasons and a bit over 30.000 miles.

Positives: 1. Cheap to buy (back in 2018) - 160 euros for all four tires, 2. They do last in terms of tread depth...still over 6 mm after all those miles, 3. They were easy going - meaning rolling resistance was low, 4. When new (first two or three seasons) excellent in wet breaking, very hard to activate ABS, 5. No special issues whatsoever....just bring the miles on.

Neither positive nor negative: 1. I've used Goodyear GT3 tires before on the same vehicle and Fuldas were slightly noisier, but nothing that would be an issue. 2. Comfort wise they were OK, but nothing special.

Negatives: 1. On dry and cold surface braking was the issue even with the new tires. It remained the same until the end. You just had to be careful. 2. Only after 10.000 kms they felt nicely secure in the rain...there were no issues before that, just the feeling in the steering and complete car was not the best in terms of being secure and confident. 3. After fifth season front tires developed a dry rot on the inner side walls which is hard to notice unless you switch your tires/wheels yourself.

Would I buy Fulda again? Yes and no. I was and still am happy with performance to price ratio, however they are not the best tires ever. Despite some flows I'm not disappointed. So it is up to the specific situation - do you need better tires or have money for them. Fuldas seem to be a decent choice for the money they cost.

This is the fourth winter season I'm using Hankook icept rs3 winter tires. After having a very positive experience with Hankook tires before (Ventus prime 4 and icept rs2 winter) I thought this was a no brainer. I was wrong.

Straight after the purchase the tires were having two issues - vibrations and pulling to the left. The solution was to rotate the tires front to back. It did help, but some light-ish vibrations continued to be felt and noticeably coming from the rear tires. I've tried a few different tire shops for balance, but the problem remained. The car was checked of course and showed no issues that would cause this behaviour.

For the first two seasons, everything seemed fine. I did notice a slight increase in fuel consumption, but I do think that's the way with all winter tires. They weren't even noisy as some reviews say they are, at least not on my car. Comfort wise they were and remained OK, but nothing special.

Third season, after having done around 9000 miles (15000 kms), showed some noticeable decrease in performance in deeper snow, a mixture of snow and ice or just ice. I didn't get stuck anywhere but I was negativly surprised indeed.

The fourth season, after about 17000 miles (25000 kms), showed that performance decrease even more. The tires were basically useless on the ice or mixture of ice and snow. Also, they showed more rolling resistance on the dry surface. I did a thorough inspection of the tires and found that while the tread is around 6,5 mms the dry rot has appeared almost everywhere on the surface of the tires. Not really happy with that. I have used these tires only during winter season, my car is garaged and regularly cleaned. I check tire pressure at least twice a month. I was expecting way more from Hankook and will not be using them any time soon. I was counting on these tires for at least two more seasons, but this one is their last one.

Writing about the Fulda Kristall Montero 3 rated 90%
while driving a Peugeot 208 1.5 BlueHDi
I recently had the chance to put the Fulda Kristall Montero 3 to the ultimate test in deep snow, ice, and packed snow, and I am beyond impressed.
These tires cut through deep snow with ease. I had no issues maneuvering in or out of tight parking spots, even when the snow was high. Getting un-stuck is a thing of the past.
The steering and overall control are excellent. Even on slippery surfaces, the car goes exactly where you point it.
One of the standout features is the traction. There was virtually no wheel spin or sliding, even when starting from a standstill on packed snow.I felt a strong grip on the road during stops, with no sliding or loss of control, giving me total confidence behind the wheel.
Highly recommended!

Driving on a combination of roads for 1200 spirited miles
Done a few more miles on these and it has revealed some weaknesses! While my initial impressions in the wet were very favourable, I have found the tires are very prone to slipping on certain surfaces, mainly things like painted lines and manhole covers when wet or damp - I've found it much easier to trigger wheelspin and the traction control when e.g. accelerating and turning out of a junction with yellow box markings in the rain.
It's just a very stark contrast as, on normal tarmac in wet or dry, it's normally much better mannered. Aside from that particular anomaly the tires are still performing very well. I've since been driving in a mix of dry and extreme wet including some roads with deep surface water and flooding up to the wheel rim and they've continued to display great aquaplaning resistance. That said I can see why people have given it a lessor rating in the dry as the grip doesn't seems to improve much as it gets drier, but for me that consistency has stopped me from getting too overconfident in the dry and letting that carry over into the wet, which was an issue I had with the Michelins I previously had!

Driving on mostly country roads for 17000 easy going miles
Original fit on Dacia Sandero ,Wet and dry braking are very good and fuel efficiency is very good. The tires are noticeably noisy and comfort levels are not a strong point. I don’t drive hard and these tires have worn evenly and look like they would do 24k but I look forward to a more comfortable, quieter set of tires.

Driving on mostly country roads for 20000 average miles
The tire was better than the OEM Continental tires regarding comfort (noise) and grip in the dry. The grip in wet, snow and ice were comparable. After two years and roughly 20.000 miles the tires have worn down to the 60% mark.
All four tires are now showing the beginning of a tread separation in the shoulder area. According to the tire dealer a typical issue of the NOKIAN One tire.
