185/65 R15 Tires

These tires are a real beast. Except for ice, snow, rain, and mud are no problem at all with these tires... Definitely a very strong and durable tire...

Overall, my experience with these tires has been excellent. The car is driven primarily outside the city on highways, covering long distances—well over 1,200 km—several times a year. My driving style is standard and cautious; it is not sporty, and I do not push the vehicle to its limits. At high speeds—consistently at the legal highway limit (120–130 km/h)—the Turanza proved to be outstanding. A minor drawback is the slightly higher road noise, especially on poor-quality pavement. The tire's responsiveness remains flawless, even now after significant mileage; its performance characteristics have stayed consistent with how they were when new. Grip and braking in the rain are excellent, as is its performance on dry roads—even in very hot weather and during extended periods of driving. It inspires a sense of safety and is forgiving of minor handling errors. About 1,200 km ago, a tear appeared on the sidewall, near the rim. The dealership attributed this to a technical issue—likely material fatigue due to high mileage—and offered a small amount of compensation. Nevertheless, I do not believe this diminishes the overall value or quality of the tire. It is worth noting that this is the second time I have fitted the same tires on the car, and I will likely do so again.

I wasn't used to spinning wheels on dry roads on my car even when I wanted to. These tires made it real. Maybe it was just bad luck (or because they were made in Portugal) but these had really bad grip on both dry and wet road.
After maybe a year of use and 10 000km small chunks of rubber started to fall off the tires. Some of the tires worn out too unevenly for a summer tire - I'd expect something like that from a winter tire which in my case doesn't really show any sign of uneven wear.

These tires seem to be made for snowy winter conditions. I was really confident driving these on both fresh and icy snow and I was surprised with the grip on hills where FWD cars always had problems.
However, I wasn't so confident on wet roads where tires slipped a bit more frequently.
They also seem to wear a little bit faster then I was used to.
Overall, really good value for the price but I'd look for an alternative if you don't experience a lot of snow in winter.

I have always bought Lassa tires and find that they give good mileage, my car was fitted with Michelin when I first got car but only lasted about 20000 miles. My car now has over 100,000 miles and find Lassa tires last a great deal longer I have had 2 tires on the rear which have done 45000 miles with about 3mm tread left, if you're looking for a premium tire that doesn't cost the earth then look north further

For a winter tire wet grio is mist important to, then Snow grip. Excellent experience with these Blizzak LM005 tires. As dry grip has the least difference amongst othrr competetors I ignore that. When snow traction is to low I use Snowchains, usually PEWAG. Normally we take 2 snow holidays to the Austrian or French Alps each year. And a few trip to the Belgium Ardennens on snowy weekends. Tires have not let us diwn once. Snowchains were unused.

Very good on ice - probably one of the very best. But I wouldn't buy them if most of the driving is on wet or dry roads. The amount of studs in them contributes to a great amount of noise, but in return you'll get very good grip on ice. I have used them mostly on ice tracks with 3 different cars and the speed and grip you can get with these is on another level. Probably only comparable to Bridgestone Blizzak Spike 3, but these have longer studs and lose studs easily. Compared to the Blizzaks, straight line grip is not as good, but generally they perform exceptionally well. Have no comparison to newer tires.
Snow grip is also really good. On dry and wet, feels a little spongy as you would expect from a winter tire. Haven't really driven them much on the road.
My experience is purely based on RWD cars: 1990 BMW 318i; 1995 BMW 328i; 2004 Smart Roadster. Used the same size with all of them.

The Pirelli Cinturato P1 were new when my van a Vauxhall Combo 1.3 was purchased in 2017 their grip in wet and dry conditions was average, wear was very good, they had covered 16814 miles. I didn't notice any problems until I took the van in for an MOT in January 2023. The MOT examiner noticed a bulge on each tire coming from the internal wall, and failed my vehicle because they were declared dangerous, with a failing of their structure which could result in a blow out,.It appeared this was a manufacturing fault with a weakness of the internal wall. The tires were changed and sent to Pirelli for examination, they refused to accept liability. They stated that because of the low mileage the structure is greatly reduced. There is no doubt that these tires are a liability and dangerous. I will never buy or use Pirelli tires in the future. They are the worst tires I have come across.
