245/40 19 Tire Review Highlights

Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS rated 90% while driving a Hyundai Genesis Coupe V6
Driving on mostly country roads for 100 spirited miles
Fronts are 225 tread, rears are 245 on my rwd v6 coupe. am basing the scores off my initial impressions compared to the cheap tires that came with the car.

The Contis are significantly more responsive to steering input compared to the cheapos I were using before (habilead headking s2000 front, joyroad rx6 rear). way more comfortable. acceleration noticeably better at all speeds. i'm almost certain it will be much better in the wet, which i haven't tried yet. brakes work much better with the contis.

they were quite expensive but even after driving for only an hour, i can already tell these are genuinely good tires. im not that interested in the final few percentages in comparing with the pilot as4 or pzero as3. All i care about is that these tires work very well. Sidewalls seem a tad soft for my liking, but the initial turn in is so much better than my cheapos, that you can carry more speed into corner entry despite the tendency to feel the weight shift towards the outside of the outer tire.

BFGoodrich Advantage 2 rated 72% while driving a BMW 530i
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
I bought a set to replace my previous Firestone Roadhawk's that came with my car when I bought it. I can't draw much of a comparison as the Firestone's were at the very end of their life when I got the car. (2022DOT with about 3mm of tread left)

I do a lot of driving in the summer and a large amount of it is on the highway or b roads and I wanted a comfort oriented tire since my car does not have any M Sport suspension bits and is quite comfort oriented already. For that purpose they are a great tire and I'm quit happy with my choice. Road noise is extremely low even on bad tarmac.
One downside of the comfort levels is that the sidewalls are extremely soft to the point where the car's 'on center' feel above 130 kph at the OE recommended pressures of 2.4 bar front and 2.8 bar rear is really bad. I bumped them up to 2.6 front and 3.0 rear and that made a huge difference and the car now also handles well at high speeds.

Interesting fact is that out of all the tires options from budget to premium in my size all tires were rated to 300kph, these were the only ones with an H speed rating. And whilst they hold the road well they don't give me enough confidence even with my bumped up pressures to drive above 180 kph for an extended period of time. But I also don't live in Germany so that's not a big deal.

I got to push them quite hard on some mountain roads and grip was surprisingly good. My trip took me trough the same mountain pass in both wet and dry conditions so I got a pretty good comparison and grip was really good in both. I've had Michelin PS4's and Goodyear Asymmetric 6's and I'd say these offer maybe 80-85% of the raw grip. But subjectively they are nowhere near as confidence inspiring and feedback is almost non existent. The front end feels mushy even with the higher pressures but loss of grip near the limit is quite progressive and the car wants to understeer first (maybe inherited from Michelin being their midrange brand?).

I've done about 3500km with them in the 2 months I've had them and they don't show any abnormal signs of wear in fact they look pretty much brand new. So I'd presume wear will be fine but time will tell.

In conclusion:

As a touring tire I definitely recommend them with the caveat that you must really care only about comfort.
Would I buy them again? On this car probably not. Even if my car is not at all sport oriented I still like the occasional spirited push on an empty road and it feels like these tires want to punish me for doing that. But as the touring comfort tire they are marketed as, they do a great job at that. But only that.

ps: tread when new before fitting in my 245/40/19 size was 7.2mm

Davanti Protoura Sport rated 92% while driving a BMW 530i M Sport Touring
Driving on mostly town for 12000 average miles
Saw some negative reviews after buying these so wanted to give my view. They’re better than I expected and seem a lot better than some older reviews, not sure what some people expect for a mid priced tire. They grip really well and the handling on the car is very good. They look like a good tire, don’t look cheap. Not sure what road feedback means so haven’t scored that, likewise ‘how progressive they are at the limit’- I’m no pro driver but to me these seems like good option away from the big brands.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport rated 81% while driving a Honda Accord 2.0T Sport
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 spirited miles
This is my first experience with a 300 tw summer tire, so my ratings might be a bit high. However, these tires are insanely grippy when they are warm in the wet or dry, and the steering response is almost telepathic. They have to be really warm to perform at their true potential, which means about 20 minutes of normal driving or just 5 minutes on the backroads. I have never even come close to the grip limit in corners, though I am in a mostly Honda Accord 2.0T (tuned so it has ~280 whp and 360 wtq, and a stiff rear sway bar). It actually makes it a little harder to stay completely straight on the road because these tires respond to even the smallest inputs, but I have come to love this characteristic; it makes a mostly normal family car feel like a sports car. After 5000 miles and at least 30 hard launches, several 130+ mph pulls, and some backroad driving, they are surprisingly still at 6/32 on the front and 7.5/32 on the back and I haven't rotated them yet either. If I hadn't accidentally done a 10 second burnout while trying to launch in 40F weather, I'm sure the fronts would still be at 6.5-7/32. I guess these tires would wear much faster on a heavier and more powerful car, but if you have a car with around 200-400 hp and don't do burnouts every day, these tires wear reasonably.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport rated 74% while driving a Jaguar XF
Driving on mostly country roads for 3000 spirited miles
Bought a set of these to replace a set of Goodride SA-37. Wow, these things are very sporting biased with grip levels in the dry/warm being absolutely stunning. In the wet they remain safe as houses and don't mind standing water either. All very good??? Not quite, as their performance quite dramatically drops of cliff when you get cold weather (im thinking anything a few degrees centigrade and below). Its not to the point of being dangerous (aka loosing traction), but there is noticeable difference in 'feel', as if the car is suddenly running on a set of super hard cheap rubber. I would never expect a tire to perform 'the same' in cold conditions but the change is quite disconcerting, especially when you are used to such a high amount of grip.....Adding half an inch of snow in to the mix resulted in a car that had zero braking at all which was quite shocking (I will now not even attempt to use the car if there is a hint of snow about..... Due to sporting nature, these are also fairly noisy and I also don't think they will last very long looking at the treadwear values...... I purchased these as I had such a good price on them (must have been a mis-price by retailer to be honest, at £70 odd quid a corner and then proceeded to knock £100 off a set of 4), but i would not buy again (at full price anyway), when Michelin Sport 5's or similar tires available at similar cost that may not be 'quite' so grippy in the warm, but less 'lifeless' in the cold an not 'lethal' in a snow flurry......

Goodride SA37 rated 43% while driving a Jaguar XF
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 easy going miles
Car came with a full set of these, newly fitted on purchase. They are cheap as chips yet performed absolutely fine in all conditions when driven in a calm manner.
I would have been happy with these except for one fact. After 3 attempts at balancing to counteract what was a notable wobble in the steering wheel, 3 of the 4 were spotted during balancing as being not 'round'....... binned them after 2000 miles....

Bridgestone Adrenalin RE003 rated 83% while driving a Infiniti Q50
Driving on mostly town for 2000 average miles
These tires were fitted on my Infiniti Q50S when I purchased the vehicle, only driven 2000kms thus far so can't comment on wear. These tires are a great balance between everyday comfort and performance. Grip and predictability in both wet as well as dry conditions seems to be very good. Nil issues with comfort nor road noise.

Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 rated 88% while driving a Hyundai Sonata N Line
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
This tire feels like a UHP summer tire but in winter. Outstanding performance in dry and wet when cold. Starts to soften above 15 degrees C. Good snow performance - almost as good as X-ice. Ice performance is meh. Michelin sacrificed comfort for handling characteristics; feels too sporty and bumpy for my preference.

Leao Nova Force rated 87% while driving a Opel insignia
Driving on mostly town for 8000 average miles
I bought bigger 19 inch wheels for my car and i needed new set of tires. I went for a budget option since the premium brands ask too much for their products. The workshop recommended this set of LEAO NOVA FORCE, a brand unknown for me. The European testing put them on 16th place out of 50 selected tested tires. On highways i do not drive above 150 km/h, city maybe 80 km/h on some places but more often 50-60. My city has uphill and downhill streets. The tire is very quiet, the grip is more than satisfactory, on wet surface they handle well. The wear is just fine, no signs of extensive wear. My car is FWD with 140 hp engine manual gear so all the pressure is on the front tires. They exceeded my expectations for half the price of the premium brands. I will probably buy another winters set for the 18 inch rims from the same manufacturer. IF YOU DONT RACE YOUR CAR i highly recommend to give them a try.
P.S. I gave previously review and by mistake instead of 40 i went for 45, so this is the correct one.

Triangle EffeXSport rated 89% while driving a Mercedes Benz CLS 350

Excellent tires for the money. The grip in the wet and dry is very good. My car is rwd so rears only lasted 14kms while the front lasted just below 40klms.

Giti GitiSportS2 rated 79% while driving a Volkswagen Arteon 2,0L Tsi
Driving on mostly motorways for 15876 average miles
Been using this tire for the past 1.5 years. Had to change it as the tires were making humming sounds. It started to get louder over time (towards the last 2 weeks of usage). Despite the tread life of each tires having at least 50% left to use, the humming sound was just too loud and kept increasing. I do perform tire rotations & balancing every 10,000km to ensure its even. Total mileage used 25550km (15876 miles). Since the pricing for these tires are so good, I decided to get them replaced with brand new S2's again.

These tires are amazing and the pricing just makes it an awesome deal. Its decently quiet, comfortable and has a great grip on both dry and wet. Its a perfect tire for daily commuting with spirited driving. Braking is excellent and the response/feel on the road is great. I recommend these tires and suggest you try these out and get a feel of it. In the Giti tire range, I would suggest you try their top range only (Sport S2 & Control P10), and if your tracking it would be (GTR3).

Youtube doesnt have much reviews on this tire, thus you would likely be searching on this website (like I have) in terms of reading reviews on this tire. Half the price of Goodyear F1A6 / Pilot Sport 5 / Conti Sport Contact 7, however the moment its fitted onto your vehicle, you will feel its as premium as these brands as well.

Great overall !
