Passenger Car All Season Premium Touring Tires Tire Review Highlights

Continental AllSeasonContact 2 rated 82% while driving a SEAT LEON 1.8TSI
Driving on mostly town for 25000 spirited miles
I bought these tires in 2019 secondhand with 6,5 mm of wear. They were a year old at the point I got them. Meaning dot 2018. I have to replace them now as they are running for around 6-7 years.

I live in Eastern Europe = Very hot summers (30-38'C), a fair bit of rainy days and a couple of weeks of snow on the streets that aren't really cleaned. I'm a spirited driver but not making large mileages. Having said that, my noteable moments as a review

Bad moments first
- At six year mark I went to a seaside country of Montenegro for a week. The temps there, are, I'd say, around 38-40'C constantly. The tires were like jelly. Braking was very inconsistent depending on road exposure to sun and the heat. I could feel how they stick to the asphalt, roll, stretch and then unstick. After I came back, I noticed that first time after six years, my tires had those dreaded holes where pieces of it have detached/broken off. Having said this, I think @tirereviews should/could make a more elaborate tests on hot summer roads and how these tires behave there.
- At six year mark in winter period, several sub zero days caught the remaining water and ice appeared. They tires were completely useless. I went in a very short, very steep street, barely moving the car (knowing there was probably some ice). I just skidded and stopped when the wheel hit the horizontal ground of intersecting street. Needless to say I got scared in my pants.
- At seven year mark - got stuck in the mud one day. The rain came pouring that day and I couldn't get out the parking place haha.

Good moments
- At two years mark (tires three year old by then) I had a couple run ins with large puddle on a dark country road. Nothing happened.
- At five, as well as six year mark, I had two sudden heavy breakings on the highway. The sky broke over us in a matter of minutes. The rain flooded everything so much so, the truck in front became a blur from the amount of water pouring at us. From driving 130km/h, we went into crawl mode at 50/60km/h in the matter of minutes. At this point I was impressed as I was sure I'd simply skid and hit the truck from behind.
- At six year mark (same as Ice story above) we had some heavy snow. I waited for the streets to be moderately clean so I can drive. No problems up the hill or down as long as there is no clear ice. Compacted or regular snow, no problems at all.

General observations; not necessarily good or bad.
- The tires are on the soft side (compared to season tire) and I can feel the sidewall bending slightly when steering. Nothing you don't get used to, but there it is. Other than that, after running them for 6/7 years absolutely no problem with them.
- After a few hot city summers the tire edges started looking a bit scorched. However, I never had any problems and the scorched layer would wear off.
- Seat Leons MK2 don't generally have a very good sound insulation (Compared to Golf 5/6) so when driving above 100km/h you can hear the tires being a part of your conversation with others. It's not an unpleasant sound, but it's there. Not sure if it's the tire or sound insulation on the car.

Other than the infamous sea-side episode where the behaved like jelly, I am really satisfied with them. I'm now tempted to buy Goodyear Vector 4 Gen 3. Not sure what to expect.

Nexen Roadian GTX rated 61% while driving a Mazda cx5
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 easy going miles
Poor road feedback. Feels vague. Ripples on road surface transmits into cabin. On smooth surface it's good but only buy if in a pinch and budget is tight or you don't care much about all these I mentioned. Does a mediocre job and makes the Mazda cx5 feel like a truck with a heavy steering

Michelin CrossClimate 3 rated 92% while driving a Volvo 850 Saloon
Driving on a combination of roads for 200 average miles
Excellent comfort; low noise, assured handling. I’m a car enthusiast and I always buy premium tires. I follow the various online video tests for tires. Must be a middle-aged thing! Across a range cars I currently own I have various full sets of summer and winter tires (Michelin ecos, Michelin primacys, original crossclimates, continental winter contacts, Goddyear Eagle asymmetric, Dunlop sports, mid-range Falkens……..the list goes on). I’ve just put the crossclimate 3 onto my daily driver and I’m hugely impressed. Firstly these tires felt great as soon as I left the tire fitters. I usually find tires require some bedding-in time, but these felt sharp from the go. Secondly, the comfort levels are very high. Thirdly, they are much quieter than expected: essentially no different to the Michelin summer tires I had on previously, perhaps even quieter at lower speeds, which surprised me. Very quiet on SMA motorway surfaces. A tad noisier on asphalt higher speed roads but again comparable to other tires I use. I normally run separate summer and winter tires but if these perform well in winter (only time will tell, but crossclimates historically are renowned for having top snow performance), then I may well be swapping all my cars over to CrossClimate 3's in due course. Handling in the current hot summer period is very assured: a tad softer than my Michelin and Goodyear eagle asymetric summer tires that I use cross my other cars, but turn-in remains very precise and grip when powering through bends is high. They are just a tad firmer than my continental winter tires. Overall I am exceptionally pleased as these latest CrossClimates offer a really lovely balance between handling and comfort, with winter performance benefits yet little-to-no trade-off. Michelin are clearly putting a lot of engineer time into Crossclimates now, and it shows. Yes, they are slightly comfort biased, but dry handling remains really sharp and I'll take that comfort bias any day on UK roads. If you don't run summer and winter tires then these are an absolute no brainer. To be honest, they are a bit of a no-brainer regardless. Hope this helps any decision making.

Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 rated 80% while driving a Volkswagen GOLF MK7 TSI 1.2L
Driving on mostly motorways for 900 easy going miles
I recently switched to the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 from the OEM Michelin tires. I drive mostly on highways in Belgium with a relaxed driving style, and I was looking for a tire that offers better year-round safety, especially in wet and winter conditions, without needing full winter performance.

Wet traction is noticeably better than my previous Michelins—particularly during heavy rain, where the car now feels much more secure. Dry performance also feels fully adequate.

So far I’ve driven around 900 miles. I did notice a slight increase in fuel consumption compared to my previous tires, though that would likely be due to switching from a worn tire to a new one with deeper tread.

I don’t have a broad basis to compare detailed aspects like noise, vibration, or steering sharpness, but to me, everything feels balanced and comfortable, and I’m very happy with the switch overall.

Continental TrueContact Tour 54 rated 83% while driving a Hyundai XG350L
Driving on a combination of roads for 1200 average miles
These tires are fantastic. They are everything I expected them to be and more. For the price of these I am very impressed. I can launch hard in dry, damp, and even very wet conditions with little to no spinning. I am already beginning to see some wear on these tires, but still have lots of miles left.

Continental AllSeasonContact rated 86% while driving a Audi Q3
Driving on mostly town for 3000 spirited miles
This is the second time I've fitted Continental AllSeasonContact's to my car. First was an Audi A4 and now in my Q3.
My Q3 was delivered with Michelin Latitude Sport 3 tires. The dry grip was good, the wet grip was awful and the cabin noise was really high.

Changed to the Continental's and lo and behold the cabin noise massively dropped, I thought it was just because I'd bought an SUV, turns out it was the tires.

Dry grip is as good as the Michelin's wet grip is significantly better. Even with 4 wheel drive wet grip was dicey at times, not so with the Continental's and aqua planning seems better too.

Wear after 3,000 miles is nominal, so I'm very pleased. Knowing that this winter I will actually have grip when driving around (I fitted these in the early spring and immediately felt a big difference but can't wait for a full winter with them).

My experience with my A4 was great and in the Q3 it's very much the same so will happily recommend these tires.

Bridgestone Weather Control A005 EVO rated 54% while driving a Volkswagen Passat 2.0TDI [150PS] DSG
Driving on mostly motorways for 15000 average miles
Approximately 15k miles and still have 4mm tread remaining. These tires were good when first fitted October 2023 and remained good for 14 months. They do not feel as good on the car as a summer tire, much softer, but I suppose that is the compromise. The wet weather performance was also not as good as a summer tire which suprised me. Performance in snow was notably good compared with summer tires. I had 4 tires fitted and after 14 months 2 of those tires have deformed with raised bumps on the outer edge of the tread all around the tire, giving the impression that some part of the tread has delaminated. For the limited winter snow and ice we get here in the north of england I do not think the compromise is worth the lack of performance in dry and wet weather. I will be switching back to summer tires.

Hankook Kinergy 4S2 rated 83% while driving a Suzuki Swift
Driving on mostly country roads for 300 average miles
I just bought hankook kinergy 4s2 for 400€ .I had Bridgestone a005. I find these tires an excellent choice for the price. They are made in Korea which is great! I have a feeling like iam driving in jellies. Very good for roads with potholes. The ride is more smooth than the Bridgestone. They are a bit noisy but i believe that the noise will disappear after more km.I will renew my after more km. However i really recommend these tires tires

Nokian SeasonProof 1 rated 56% while driving a Kia Motors Niro EV
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 average miles
These tires do not behave like a true all season. They are essentially a winter tire with quite frankly TERRIBLE wet grip and handling. They are good in the snow, decent in the dry. But my god in the wet (any temp) they are abysmal. Constantly slipping and understeering like crazy. Honestly they are dangerous in the wet. I live in Scotland so it's wet half the time. Wish I hadn't bought them. Maybe ok if you live in mongolia! Wish I had bought Vredesteins Instead. (Apparently a more wet bias "all season"). Again. These are a very winter focused all season not suitable for wet conditions.

Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 rated 70% while driving a Jaguar XE S (Supercharged V6)
Driving on mostly motorways for 13000 spirited miles
I've had these on my Jaguar XE S for about 20.000km (13.000 miles) and in winter the grip is great in both dry and wet. In higher temperatures (above 22 degrees C or so) they are definitely not that enjoyable: the tire feels way too soft, lacking grip and steering feedback. The Bridgestone Weather Control A005 Evo I had on my previous car (Lexus IS 300h) seemed to do better in higher temperatures than these Pirelli's. I'll get another set of summer tires for the summer and keep these just for the winter until Pirelli gives us a P Zero All Season tire.
Size: 225/40 R19 on the front, 255/34 R19 on the rear.

Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2 rated 59% while driving a Kia Motors Picanto
Driving on mostly town for 0 easy going miles
I do not recommend these tires. I purchased this tire less than 10 months ago, expecting at least a reasonable lifespan given the price and brand reputation. Unfortunately, it has already developed a significant defect, making it completely unsafe to drive on.
