Uniroyal AllSeasonExpert 3
WatchThe Uniroyal AllSeasonExpert 3 is an all-season tire engineered for strong performance in wet conditions, featuring "Shark Skin Technology" and a V-shaped directional tread to reduce aquaplaning. It offers precise dry handling due to a stiffened shoulder area and a larger footprint, while its special sipe design ensures enhanced grip and safety on snowy roads. This EV-compatible tire bears both the M+S marking and the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol. It is initially available in 40 sizes for 15 to 20-inch rims and has EU tire label ratings of B for wet grip, B for noise, and C for rolling resistance

Very very initial impressions here but in the last few days I’ve had chance to try these tires in every weather condition, from dry to wet, snow and ice.
Dry - handles like I personally expect and all season to handle a bit vague but fine, similar to CrossClimate 2s
Wet - Excellent, feels like I’m driving on the dry no noticeable difference feels planted even in torrential rain.
Snow/ice - impressive descended down a snow covered slope as the first car down it, snow level was quite deep and it did it no issues, and climbed back up no issues on a snowy/icey incline, and was fine pulling into - reversing and pulling out of a icey lay-by
So far I’ve been very impressed with this tire, it seems very capable, coming with just shy of 8mm of tread in my tire size (perhaps 8mm not sure how accurate my tread depth reader is) I thought I’d leave this initial review as there aren’t many out there! There is one review I could find online on YouTube - looking forward to your test to see how it compares!

Just a quick follow up review to the initial review having spent some more time with the tires, now covering 1000 miles with them, they are showing no wear, and haven’t exhibited any changes in behaviour since the initial review other than as the tire has been used more it now seems to smooth out small road imperfections better than it did initially.
As a tire it is very much an all season tire, it drives like an all season tire but is predictable in every scenario I’ve encountered so far, and I would say more responsive then something like the Michelin CrossClimate 2 which I have used previously.

I’ve previously written two reviews on these tires praising them highly, however now the temperatures have warmed it’s like a completely different tire.
In the warm they oversteer immensely, so much so I was convinced I had an issue with my suspension, having had this checked by two different garages, no suspension issues were found at all.
With this in mind I decided having been very pleased with the winter performance of these I have decided to keep these as winter tires, and have fitted Maxxis Premitra HP6 tires for summer use - these tires have fixed the oversteer issues and the need for constant corrections.
Another issue I had with the uniroyals was getting them balanced, two shops tried and couldn’t quite get it right with a noticeable wobble initially at 50mph then at 70mph, the tires needed to be road force balanced to solve this issue.
That being said after 7000 miles the tires have only worn 1.5mm which I’m quite pleased with, as weirdly my car seems to chew tires down quite quickly and I wouldn’t class myself as a particularly spirited driver.
In summary, I wouldn’t see these as an all season tire, being in my garage now unmounted the side walls are incredibly soft now it’s warmed up, however the winter performance of these tires is great, and I would consider them a winter tire rather than an all season.
