215/60 R16 Tire Review Highlights
Writing about the Michelin X Ice North 4 rated 94%
while driving a Volkswagen Passat B8 1.8 TSI RLine 180PS
Great tires, bought new for winter 2021-2022.impressed by the lack of noise from studs on clear pavement. Used them on my WV Passat, and tread life is extremely high, went trough 32 000 miles. The first 25 000 miles only polished away just 1,5mm and took 4 winter seasons, but this winter after 10 000 miles I lost 4mm. And because they are now on the legal limit, will change them. I had similar experiences with Michelin x-ice north3, where the first mm holded extremely long, and after 20 000 miles they started to loose tread us other soft Nordic compound tires. Now decided to try the Nokian Hakapelita 10.

The tires were already mounted on my 2002 Camaro. Only 4 years old they already start to show small cracks on the whole tire.

99% I agree with the car magazine test regarding performance. Quiet, low rolling resistance. Wet performance disappointing.

Not a bad tire but those cracks came quite early.

Will change them to all season tires.

Very happy overall with these tires. Have driven just over 60,000kms. The overall performance of these tires in all conditions is pretty good. They represent great value for money. I have no hesitations when it comes to replacing my current tires with another set of the same tires.

while driving a Honda HRV
Driving on a combination of roads for 18500 average miles
Used these tires for about 30k km so far. I think the tires performs great, in both dry or wet. My point of reference are against my parent's car with continental ecocontact 6q, which gave me no feedback in the wet, and actually aquaplaned.

Which is something I never experience here, I think the feedback and response from these tires are good.

Only think that's weaker for these tires are the rolling resistants, which is quite high. So my fuel consumption went up a bit compared to my older toyo nanoenergy 3.

The tires are also quite quiet, especially considering they're not very expensive. Would certainly consider getting falken again.

Driving on a combination of roads for 12000 spirited miles
Really comfy tire, good wear, but at 32 psi I would lose traction in wet conditions without even going full throttle, in first and second gear, also in dry conditions sometimes. If turning a bit fast in the wet the tire just don't grip that well and understeer a quiet a bit more than what I would be comfortable with. This tire is good if u want something comfortable that would last a decent time and you don't push or throw your car around

Writing about the Michelin Energy XM2 rated 74%
while driving a Ford Falcon BF
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 spirited miles
Had these on various cars, Commodores and Falcons. They are our go to tire, consistently performs well at all stages of life, and *decent* in the snow (for a summer tire). Had Bridgestones, Falkens, Pirellis and Nexen.
Wet performance is absolutely outstanding. In the wet, even in a high torque rear wheel drive vehicle with little weight in the back, it still drives like its on rails
Driven in the snow with them too, and for a summer tire, they were pretty good.

We usually get about 60k kms out of them before they have about 3mm of tread left, where we replace our tire. We've had Energy XM2's on this car twice, and probably 3 times on the commodore.

while driving a Volkswagen Sharan SE 2.0TDi
Driving on mostly town for 10000 easy going miles
Came fitted to the front wheels of a used Sharan. 4.5mm tread. Wheel alignment good.

Truly awful tires although they taught me to be a much gentler city driver.

Wheel spin pulling away from lights and junctions.
ESG engaged during moderate acceleration on less than perfect roads.
Massive understeer around corners
Drifting on roundabouts.
Car felt unstable at motorway speed.
All of above amplified by a factor of five with any moisture in road.
Reluctant to stop in wet.

Not issues usually associated with a diesel mpv!

Swapped out for a set of good year's and all issues resolved.

I had a set of these tires for my previous Renault Megane III. They were great for the first two years on snowy roads. But their performance started to decline on snow and ice year by year. We have used them for seven years even at summer times for about 60.000kms and still they had over 3 mm tire depth. They were fine on dry and wet surfaces, I had no issue. They are definetly price/performance tires. They are bit soft at cornering and high speed maneuvering and you don't feel confident with them at the high speed. But it does not bother me because I don't like speeding at winter times. Now I will buy a set for my Landrover Discovery 3. But honestly I will not prefer them for my Mercedes C200 4matic (Continental is my favourite).

while driving a Ford Mk5 Mondeo 2.0
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
Tires on snow / ice behave very well, in the dry you can feel that the tire flexes on fast turns but for normal driving it is enough
driving comfort good
wear after a whole winter ( about 3000 miles) is small
definitely recommend
