215/45 16 Tire Review Highlights

RoadX RXMOTION U11 rated 46% while driving a Audi A1
Driving on mostly town for 3000 average miles
I would definitely not recommend this tire unless you drive at snail speed in the dry with a car that has little power. The front lets go on cornering in the wet, with little warning. Bought a pre-owned Audi A1 with them on, and was it not for the car's handling capability and safety features and my driving experience and skill, these tires would have had me in trouble

Davanti DX390 rated 100% while driving a Skoda
Driving on a combination of roads for 28000 average miles
A cheap tire that went way above expectation. 28.000 miles / 45.000 km in 3 years and surely unhappy that they are not available any more. The price back then was 240 euros for 4 pieces. Miles driven on highways at usual speeds around 150km/h and on soil/village roads. Due to low profile the tire pressure was usually at around 38-40 psi as recommended by the tire shop, not 34. They never slided when sudden braking occurred or given the sense of losing control/grip. Good grip both on wet and dry road. Previous tires were dunlop and Bridgestone, didn't last so long dunlops were double priced and Bridgestones 50% more expensive.

Rotalla Setula 4 Season RA03 rated 82% while driving a Skoda
Driving on mostly country roads for 1 spirited miles
Very pleased with performance in a wide range of circumstances. Living in UK North East had our first snow and ice since these tires fitted and well pleased. Progressive breakaway In dry, wet, ice and snow. Not a summer tire so response perhaps little soft but still good enough for what they are. Definitely would buy again

Federal 595RSRR rated 62% while driving a Toyota Celica VVTLi
Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 spirited miles
Dry grip is phenomenal, wet grip is better than expected. But the noise is unbearable

Tigar High Performance rated 70% while driving a Audi A1
Driving on a combination of roads for 5500 average miles
I needed to replace a set of very high performance, but extremely worn summer tires, before a long trip. Due to availability and budget constraints I went with the Tigar High Performance tires. These have proven very good, especially at the price point. The tires offered really good dry grip, handling and comfort. Wet grip is also good and they are relatively silent. They have worn a bit over 5500miles, but I expected this considering the price. In all I would definitely recommend to anyone on a budget.

Dunlop SP Sport Maxx rated 43% while driving a Skoda
Driving on mostly town for 37 easy going miles
These tires came with my 2015 Skoda Fabia, very unsporty car in SEL trim so cannot say much about the dry performance/feedback these tires provide as it's generally a sloppy A-B car. I will focus my review on the older set, which are original to the car and are now 6 years old - They were originally 3 years old when I bought the car and have been exceedingly noisy, and after nearly 5 years have started to crack on the surface of the tire, and longer cracks on the tire wall. More expectedly, the tires now loose grip on roundabouts in the wet as they are 6 years old with 4.5mm of tread remaining. They were fitted to the rear of the car for 28,000 miles and have been on the front for roughly 9,000 miles - so as for mileage wear these have been excellent, but age wear has been poor. The fresher set which are now 4 years old, are yet to crack and have always been much quieter. No idea how many miles these have been on the car for. I would not recommend these tires only due to the excessive noise and cracking on the original set, and reading the reviews cracking seems to be common after only a few years.

Kumho Winter Craft WP51 rated 92% while driving a Skoda
Driving on mostly country roads for 0 easy going miles
I have bought several sets of these tires for different cars over the years. 2 VW Golfs and a Skoda Fabia. I live in a rural area with a lot of hills and when it snows it snows. These tires cope in even the worst weather conditions - ice, snow, slush, rain and I can’t recommend them enough. Cars sliding and stranded everywhere and I breeze past them. No slipping, no sliding. Just brilliant.

Toyo Proxes CF2 rated 87% while driving a Toyota MR2 mk3 Roadster
Driving on a combination of roads for 2500 average miles
I bought as a pair for the rear, these toyo proxes CF2 since where mid range priced tires. I'm always afraid of driving my mr2 in the rain, but these toyo, definatly changed my mind. In the wet they excel very good. In the dry can't complain, feels good, grips good, can abuse a bit in the corners. Wear can't say much, since I've driven them for around 2 to 3k miles with them fitted.
