Kleber Quadraxer 3

The Kleber Quadraxer 3 is a winter-leaning, comfort-first all-season touring tire that feels secure and refined in everyday use. It stands out for strong snow and ice capability, impressive aquaplaning resistance, and a notably quiet, cushioned ride. Overall it offers excellent value for a mid-range option, but it is not the sharpest tire in demanding wet handling situations compared with the best all-season rivals.

Very strong snow performance, excellent comfort, low noise, low rolling resistance.
Below average dry and wet performance.
The Kleber Quadraxer 3 finished in fifth, and as we always find with the Kleber it was a powerhouse in the snow, it had excellent comfort, and a very low rolling resistance. I personally would like more dry and wet grip from an all season tire, but I know there are lots of people who love this snow heavy balance, and if that's your thing, this is a great option.
9th/17
The Kleber Quadraxer 3, as Michelin's budget sub-brand, proves to be a snow talent and the best second-tier brand from a premium manufacturer in the test. This tire inherits some of Michelin's winter expertise, delivering strong cold-weather performance at a more accessible price point. However, it's somewhat weaker in dry conditions and suffers from increased rolling resistance, leading to higher fuel consumption.
8th/13
The Kleber Quadraxer 3, a second brand from Michelin, reigns as the undisputed snow king with outstanding performance on winter tire levels, while also maintaining competent dry road manners. This tire delivers exceptional snow traction, handling, and braking that rivals dedicated winter tires, making it ideal for drivers facing serious winter conditions. The handling on snow is particularly impressive, offering confidence-inspiring precision and stability. Dry performance remains good with acceptable braking and handling characteristics. However, this winter optimization creates significant compromises in wet conditions, where the Kleber shows weaknesses that lead to its downgrade in overall scoring. Braking distances on wet roads extend notably, and handling becomes less predictable when water is present. For drivers in alpine regions or areas with guaranteed heavy snowfall who rarely encounter rain, the Kleber's winter excellence might outweigh its wet-weather limitations.

Given 77% while driving a Suzuki vitara s 1,4 boosterjet (215/55 R17) on mostly country roads for 30,000 average miles
Kleber is part of the Michelin group, so it is easy to see how the technology found in the cross-climate has trickled down to this tire. I currently drive a Suzuki Vitara 2019, and the bulk of my drive is done by the wife commuting and my two big trips a year from Scotland to Italy or Poland.
Motorway driving is on par with many other tires; the wind noise coming from the car is always louder than the tires themselves, so no trouble there; you get just a wee bit less fuel efficiency overall (compared to the more expensive choice), but it is nothing to transcendental, on the dry they are as good as you can imagine, you can get the edge of the grip quick enough(most probably is the car been heavier than a hatchback) but is relatively easy to understand and current, they give a good road feel and absorb potholes quite well, on the wet they are great, having directional tread (similar to corossclimate) it helps to dissipate the water and they have never felt unsafe or lacking grip.
The same goes for the snow. I took the car to the Alps last year, and it was a breeze. Traction control never had to engage, and the drive felt smooth and safe.
I've driven almost 30.000 miles and still have more than 3mm left on the tread. I'll probably get another set unless I find something more interesting to try.

Given 84% while driving a SEAT Leon 5F 1.0 TSI (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
Bought these tires because they are really simular to the Michelin Crossclimate 2's. But a lot more affordable. I've driven the CC2's so I believe I can compare them quite well.

I can keep my review of the Quadraxer 3 quite short and just say this hand over heart: really just as good as Michelin Crossclimate 2 in all conditions. And actually better in wet & rainy conditions in terms of aquaplaning and grip.
Great in snowy conditions too.

Will they last as long as Michelin? Maybe. I've done 12.000 km on them and the wear on them is minimal.

Given 53% while driving a Opel astra j 1.6 turbo (215/50 R17) on a combination of roads for 20,000 spirited miles
I really don't understand why so many reviews say that the grip and handling on dry and wet is good with these tires. In the tire test there is only one that shows the reality (2023 Auto Zeitung All Season Tire Test).
I was the biggest fan of KLEBER Quadraxer 2. I had 4 sets. 2 on a corsa D and 2 on my astra j with life span of 45 - 55.000km for each set. You could screech those tires as much as you like, they wouldn't let go! Fabulous! Until I bought Quadraxer 3 :(. First twisted road I got the chance (10 degrees Celsius outside when Quadraxer 2 excelled) I felt like on winter tires on a summer day, it was absolutely scary! I understand that they probably wanted better handling in snow but I think they went overboard. Sorry but sadly I'm leaving the Quadraxer fan club. It was a really good run!

Initial Impressions Review
Given 63% while driving a Volkswagen Passat 2.0TDI [150PS] DSG (215/55 R16) on for 5,000 miles
When new had good performance.
After one summer, got hardened and performance dropped from 8/10 to 6/10.
On icy sludge became almost unusable. Took me 10m to stop where others did it in 4m with abs activated.
Not happy, never again.

Initial Impressions Review
Given 92% while driving a Opel Astra G (195/65 R15) on for 8,000 miles
I drive this tire for a year in all conditions. I didn't see any difference between kleber quadraxer 3 and my previous continental summer tires in wet and dry conditions. I see difference now in ice and snow condition when I compare it with real winter tire, but I'm very pleased how it performs, lot better than I expected. Yes, winter tire is better on snow and ice but this cleber tire is very close, I drive little bit more careful and there is no need to worry.

Given 88% while driving a Fiat 500 (195/45 R16) on mostly country roads for 1,000 average miles
After about 25,000 km on the Kleber Quadraxer 2, I decided to switch to the Quadraxer 3. In the photo, the QD2 are shown at the top, while the QD3 are at the bottom. Wear on the QD2 was extremely minimal (as shown), thanks to extensive extra-urban use, keeping the car in a garage, and meticulous pressure checks.

Compared to the previous model, under the same conditions and pressures, the improvement is clear—especially in dry road performance. Steering feels much more direct and enjoyable, while the tires remain quiet and safe. I will update the review as mileage increases.

They are extremely sensitive to pressure changes, so check it often. The price is higher than the QD2, but justified by the improvement.

Given 93% while driving a Citroën C5 X hybrid 225 (205/55 R19) on a combination of roads for 36,000 average miles
The time has come to replace the Klebers. What an excellent tire they have been. The set has lasted just over 58,000 kms. What is really impressive is even as the tire tread depth dropped, the grip in the wet did not deteriorate. In fact there is still plenty of tread on the tires, they are not down to the wear bars yet. I am only changing them early as I will be driving through the Alps and Dolomites in the next few months, otherwise if winter was behind me, I would have left them on longer.

I have fitted Michelin Cross Climate tires to previous cars, but the Klebers are just as good - if not slightly better with regard to ride comfort and low noise. I would have bought another set, but I am in the U.K. at the moment and the Klebers seem hard to get hold of.

Given 95% while driving a Renault Scenic (205/55 R17) on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
Just bought 4 tires for my Renault Grand Scenic 3 MPV. I have to say that the first thing I noticed is the comfort. Tires are extremely comfort. Handling is surprisingly very good (according to my previous tires). There's no snow yet so I can't write my experience on that matter. But considering first impresions and the price I paid (100€ per tire) I'd surely buy them again.

Given 93% while driving a Renault Kadjar 1.5DCi (225/45 R19) on a combination of roads for 12,000 average miles
Have these tires on my Kadjar for 1 year now. I had no chance to test them on heavy snow but they were great on few days of snowy roads and thin ice.The rest is great, used them from -10C to +40C and have no complain. Very good on dry and wet roads. The best part of these tires is comfort - very quiet and very comfortable. Before them I had 6 years old premium summer tires and these Quadraxer 3 outperformed them significantly. Recommending them for regular usage and drivers that do not "drive on the edge".

Given 95% while driving a Dacia Sandero Stepway Mk3 (205/60 R16) on a combination of roads for 6,250 average miles
These tires are impressive. I have tested them in all-weather conditions, from the scorching heat in summer (air temperature up to 38°C), to a torrential rainfall, to spring/autumn temperatures, and to the cold winter temperatures. Plus, I have tested them in snow and ice.
- Scorching heat: in summer temperatures and in the dry, they perform well, with good grip, good braking and low understeer.
- Wet: as the tests revealed, these tires have outstanding aquaplaning resistance, with no significant issues even at high speed. I have always had good grip on wet conditions.
- Mid-seasons temperatures: when temperatures start to fall to around 15°C, these tires get even better than in summer, showing a slightly better grip in all conditions.
- Winter: these tires shine in winter. They are clearly winter-oriented, as as soon as the temperatures get near freezing level, the grip rises even more.
- Snow: I have tested them on around 15cm of snow. Amazing tires. It truly felt like I was driving in the dry. I had no issues whatsoever, and the car movements were literally the same as in the dry. I didn't even need to adjust my driving to the snow.
- Ice: To my biggest surprise, I was able to move effortlessly even in ice! It felt like I was driving in the snow... the car moved forward, laterally, and in reverse gear without any issue. It felt like I was using winter tires.
In conclusion, these tires are outstanding, and they give their best in snow/ice and winter conditions, even if they are definitely good also in summer and mid-season weather. I do recommend them!

Given 60% while driving a Mercedes Benz A (195/50 R15) on mostly motorways for 3,000 spirited miles
I have purchased the tires to replace the Barum Quadralis 5 which did the job well for 3 full years (6 seasons). Klebers were considered an upgrade. However, there is one design issue - the tires get very loud roar after you reach about 135 km/h. Loads of roar. It lessens a little bit at 140 km/h. This was considered a quiet tire, but it is not. At least not at the speeds. I will not buy again.

I have been driving on kleber for a year sharp.Had all seasons gone through. I bought kleber after watching Jonathan's previous AS tires test (the one without conti tires) The only thing I paid attention was how good AS would deal with winter condition as I have not very fresh winter tires. The test showed that, for low price, one could get a decent almost close to winter tire. In a nutshell, if you are looking for a tire that can handle safe in snow condition take quadraxer3 or it's clone tire bfgoodritch.

Given 78% while driving a Alfa Romeo GT 1.9 JTD (205/55 R16) on mostly motorways for 6,000 average miles
I drove these for 10k KM's so far.
I fitted these as my "winter set" instead of my old winter tires - so I don't have to rush to replace them for the summer set (Michelin PS5) because I live far form the tire storage.
I've had them fitted since October last year and I'm still impressed mostly by the comfort and how QUIET they are.
I've mostly driven them in the dry and I find the grip adequate. I never felt unsafe in them - especially in hard braking.
In the rain I'd say they drain the water well and provide decent grip, and safe braking.
Didn't test in snow.
Didn't notice any wear so far.
Overall, surprisingly good tire for the price. I paid 64 EUR per tire for 205/55/16 - Made in Poland.
I bought them based on the TireReviews video of all season test in 2023 where they were recommended and in 3rd place ( Thanks John!!).
They remind me of of Michelin CrossClimate - the tread pattern looks really similar.

If they perform well throughout in the next seasons, I would easily recommend them.

Given 94% while driving a Citroën C5 X hybrid 225 (205/55 R19) on mostly motorways for 5,000 average miles
I had this tire on my shortlist. My priorities were good wet grip, ride comfort, and the ability to tackle anything Winter throws at them.

I have not encountered any snow despite making two round trips through the Alps this Winter. These tires are excellent for cruising as they are quiet and absorb a lot of the imperfections in the road. Wet grip is excellent and also their aqua plane resistance. They were a lot better value than Michelin Cross Climate 2’s, and it will be interesting to see how long the Klebers last.

This is the first time I have bought Kleber tires, and I will certainly continue to buy them. The only thing I would like to see would be an option for rim protectors.

Many thanks to Tirereviews.com for all the information that helped me choose these tires.

Given 76% while driving a Opel Zafira Tourer (225/50 R17) on a combination of roads for 7,000 easy going miles
I´ve bought these tires after long considering which all season tire would be best for mild central europe weather. Since my milage has been around 15 000 km per year, mostly town or highways and I wanted good value for money, I have choosen Kleber Quadraxer 3. I ride them since march 2022 and after circa 10 000 km driven, I have decided to share my opinion and experience with these tires.
1) Dry handling is farly good. I dont drive sporty and tires never had any problem with handling or braking in emergency situations.
2) Aquaplaning resistance is outstanding. I have never had tire so good in deep water or driving in heavy rain on highway. This is one of the best feature of these tires. Handling on wet is slightly understeering but still very predictable and safe.
3) Snow. I was worried how will tires handle on snow or icy roads. After couple days, when I was driving on snowy roads a realized, that I can not recognize any different between all-season and winter tires. Grip, breaking, steering: all was as good as I remember when I drove with regular winter tires.
Only negative I found on these tire was (surprisingly for me) annoying noise at around 90 kmh speed. Anywhere slower or faster, tires were quiet. I thing this must be problem caused by tire size, because low tire noise is supposed to be pros of these tires.
