Volkswagen Passat 2.0TDI [150PS] DSG Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 EVO given 54% (235-45-18)

Approximately 15k miles and still have 4mm tread remaining. These tires were good when first fitted October 2023 and remained good for 14 months. They do not feel as good on the car as a summer tire, much softer, but I suppose that is the compromise. The wet weather performance was also not as good as a summer tire which suprised me. Performance in snow was notably good compared with summer tires. I had 4 tires fitted and after 14 months 2 of those tires have deformed with raised bumps on the outer edge of the tread all around the tire, giving the impression that some part of the tread has delaminated. For the limited winter snow and ice we get here in the north of england I do not think the compromise is worth the lack of performance in dry and wet weather. I will be switching back to summer tires.

Dry grip is very good. Wet grip is good, very predictable and you always know where the limit is. There is a part of road with short wooden bridge- in the rain at 10°C my summer 2017 Conti completely looses lateral grip, but Sava sticks firmly. Grip on the snow and ice is exceptional - it goes and goes. Trye wear is low. For the price exceptional tire.

Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
Only managed to get 15k miles out of from set on 2016 2.0 TDI DSG Passat se mixture of town motorway and rural driving. When these tires got down to 3.5mm they started to get noisy also wet grip went off really quickly. Would not expect this from a primium branded tire.
Will not buy again, especially at the price

In the past I have got about 18K from a set of front tires, but these tires will be changed before I reach 12K. Very disappointed and therefore will not consider as replacement
