Once again the German publication Auto Bild have tested more winter tires than anyone else in 2022! This years Auto Bild Winter Tire Test starts with 56 winter tires in 215/55 R17 which are all put through a wet braking test, with the top 30 also placed in a snow braking test, then the top 20 will be carried over to the full test.
This gives us a very broad overview of the winter tire market in 2022, and there's no real surprises in the results! Bridgestone and Continental lead the group, with the last ten or so places taken by some of the cheapest tires on test.

It seems that for the 1st time we'll see BFGoodrich GForce Winter 2 against Kleber Krisalp HP3. Apparently, exactly the same tread pattern but, eventually, slightly different compounds. Will be an interesting test to look at in a few weeks if one is looking for cheap but interesting winter tires!
They finish pretty close overall, the BF is 2 places ahead of the Kleber!
