Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Given 80% while driving a Volkswagen Passat Estate 2.0 TDI (170) (205/55 R16) on mostly motorways for 300 spirited miles
Compared with my previous winter tires, Hankook, they are the same. The only point where they are in back compared with Hamkook is for the dry grip.

Given 93% while driving a Ford Fiesta 2009 titanium 1.4 (185/70 R14) on mostly country roads for 9,500 spirited miles
185/70/14. Brilliant in mud, rocky terrain and deep snow and ice. I run these tires all year round. Always get two new fronts each year as they are affordable and the tread depth is roughly 10mm in the size I use. These tires are good all year round but can feel heavy when weather reaches 20°c and above but they’re winter tires after all

Latest GT Radial WinterPro2 Reviews

Given 53% while driving a Audi A4 b9 2.0 tdi (225/45 R18) on mostly motorways for 3,000 average miles
Decided to give these a try since I found them at a good deal and reviews watched didn't point out any major flaws.

First impression was good, but the weather was mostly sunny and the roads were dry. The real problem started when it started snowing. The grip on snow is not the best, and if the snow layer is not that hardened, you're basically stuck. I remember I had to borrow a shovel once to clear the snow layer around my front wheels in order to move the car. It wasn't really something I am not used to, since in eastern Europe winters can get very bad, but since the snow layer was not that big, I expected a winter tire to handle tat with no issues at all.

The second time I realised these tire are not only average, but extremely dangerous is once on the highway when there was a thin layer of ice formed on the road. At a speed of 70 km/h I tried to switch the lane and after the slightest steering wheel touch I immediately felt how I lost control, so for the next few meters the car was like a rock on a frozen lake. Luckily I managed to take back the control on steering, but you can imagine how scarry the rest of the trip felt.

Might be bad weather conditions and just an unlucky experience, but honestly I lost trust in these tires and I only experienced one winter season with them.

I'd definitely wouldn't buy them again nor recommend them to anyone.
