SUV and 4x4 All Season All Terrain and Off Road Tires Tire Review Highlights
BFGoodrich All Terrain TA KO2 — rated 73%
while driving a Land Rover Discovery 3 for 10000 miles
These are one of the default AT tires for a reason. I haven't used these off road extensively but they have seen a few rock covered trails and plenty of rough gravel roads with no issues. Mud traction is just OK but of course these aren't mud tires. Snow, slush, and even deep snow traction has been great, but grip on ice and hard packed snow is much less impressive and reminds you these aren't proper winter tires. This might be a compromise most AT tires make, but it's bad enough I wouldn't recommend these for someone who just wants all weather performance for a street driven truck/SUV. If you need a durable do anything on/off road tire, especially in warmer and drier climates, these would be a great option.

BFGoodrich All Terrain TA KO3 — rated 87%
while driving a Great Wall Motors GWM Tank 300 Diesel for 13000 miles
I think I was most impressed by the fact that I changed from brand new Michelin highway terrain tires over to the KO3, and the road noise and comfort were... basically identical. Aside from the aesthetic of these tires (I am a proud white writing displayer), they've performed admirably. Very comfortable, very quiet, and their traction offroad is fantastic. They suffer from the same inherent limitations that are common in AT tires as a category, eg, not amazing in the wet, and this is the one area in which I feel the KO3 might not stand up to some of the competition, but in every other category they're outstanding. We love taking these things off road and so far there hasn't been any situation they haven't been able to breeze through. We don't do any really hardcore rock crawling, but no matter the trail we're on we're confident the tires aren't going to be what lets us down.

Nokian Outpost nA/T — rated 84%
while driving a Ford F 150 for 70000 miles
Used on a work truck for about two and half years now. Incredible tire in terms of strength and just taking whatever you give it. Drove a moderate mix of off-road, city and highway driving throughout the life of the tire. Every time I encountered some snow or rain, these tires didn't blink regardless of the base terrain. Pretty quiet for an AT tire on the highway but in no way is it quiet. For the price and quality, I don't see why I won't be going with these again. Great work Nokian Tires!

Continental TerrainContact A/T — rated 73%
while driving a Chevy 1500 for 45000 miles
40% city, 40% highway, 20% ranch road driving. This tire gave exceptional grip on road in both wet and dry, and decent grip off road. MPG was average. I might be happy with this tire, but for the money, the Michelin LTX MS2 is the better choice because of how fast these tires wore out. Quick wear doesn't just mean you buy new tires sooner, but you have to rotate them more often, and that is annoying.

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac RT — rated 96%
while driving a Ram 1500 hemi for 50000 miles
Just putting on my 3rd set.. love them! I am driving in my personal pickup truck traveling the USA fulltime and they’ve been in rain, hail, sleet, ice, mud, red clay, deserts, mountains, coastal turns.. you name it I’ve thrown it to these tires. I’ve had glass, nails, metal (out in TC oil rigging area) and dresser thorns all come at me in terrains and interstates and sometimes you can’t avoid and the Kevlar lives up to its name within these tires. The year before these came out I bought Goodyear tire similar to these but Kevlar wasn’t incorporated into the tire so it was a no brainer when these came out I ran purchase to get to try them..
I’ve reveled 150,000 miles in a little over a year and a half and this girl will tell you guys this is your tires just don’t buy out my size.. lol. I’m still going strong with this tire and the only thing I can say is red clay mud coming off the mesas and any tire will do this, they don’t have much grip on the red clay mud and if way below 0 degrees they’ll handle good on ice but likenanayntirenifnyiunhitnthenwrong patch be ready to straighten your ride up in the side..
I would recommend these without hesitating and I’m going continue with em’. Oh another thing is when you rub a curb or jump one they’ve handled liked great. No tears along the sides from curb rubs and sometimes this happens.
Happy journeys out there and maybe Goodyear would like to sponsor me a set to test ride to full crazy female capacity throughout the wildlands of the USA.
One more thing these say 80,000 mile tire umm more like 55,000 mile and as you know you’ll know for the tire will get louder..
The road noise very little but as wearing you’ll know new ones needed. Performance in cornering off exits, turns .. you’ll think you’re in a sports car even with a heavy load in your bed.
I can’t say enough about them because on road and off-road performance just excellent. Get a set you WON’T be disappointed..

Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3 — rated 96%
while driving a Chevrolet Colarodo for 5000 miles
Im no tire nerd, but these tires have handled well on the road, are quit and responsive. We recently had 12 inches of snow and they handled it incredibly and were comfortable and capable on ice as well. Additionally the few times I have taken them in sand and mud in
Chevy Colorado; they have not let me down.

Nokian Outpost nA/T — rated 88%
while driving a Ford F 150 for 500 miles
I live in a high altitude neighborhood in Utah where we frequently deal with snow covered dirt roads that often turn to ice. I bought the Nokian Outpost nATs to replace a 35% life K02 on my '15 F-150 and it's like a night and day difference in snow and ice traction. I took them out on a snowy night just to get a better feel for snow performance and found lateral grip to be very predictable and the overall traction to be similar to an all weather tire (CC2) we have on another vehicle. I was really surprised by how much confidence these inspired in the snow and hope that they are able to maintain this edge through their tread life.

I'm also quite impressed with road feel, the Nokians in SL feel significantly 'cushier' than the E range K02's they replaced. I'm not sure how much of that is the tire vs load range but I am happy to have a nicer ride in day to day use. The Nokians are 10 lbs lighter each and my best guess is that they have contributed ~1 mpg improvement over my outgoing tires. They also seem to have less road noise than the old tires, it's hard to compare worn vs new but they are noticeably quieter on the highway compared to a lot of vehicles with AT tires I've been in.

I had never heard of these tires before and was actually informed of them from chatGPT by prompting 'Which all terrain tire for my truck has the best snow performance, just pick one'. It referenced the snow test on tire reviews and chose these. They were also cheaper than many competitors, I paid $217 each in 275/65r18 which I felt was totally reasonable considering k03's in the same size are ~$330.

I'm happy with them and would recommend for anyone who is dealing with winter conditions on the regular.

Nitto Terra Grappler G2 — rated 54%
while driving a Toyota 4runner for 65318 miles
These have been great on my wife's 2018 4runner. We bought them in 2020 and they are still going strong here in 2026. I was expecting about 55-65k miles out of them but we are over 65k now and they still have all the siping and good tread depth. The tire or getting "old" not worn out.
I will be looking for something better in the rain and ice. These are too slippery, 4 wheel drive is a must on anything like ice or fresh rain.
I will be looking at the G3s because they say they are much better in the wet and ice but I am not convinced yet.

BFGoodrich All Terrain TA KO3 — rated 87%
while driving a Lexus Gx470 for 8000 miles
They took everything that I didn’t like about the KO2… noise, harshness, poor hydroplane resistance… and fixed it. The KO3 is an improvement and is a nice addition to my lifted GX470. The on-center steering is acceptable for a truck but not nimble like my Toyo ATIII. The BFG does have good handling but it feels a little slower to change direction than the Toyo. However, this thing takes the cake for braking performance… snow/dirt/street, it stops well everywhere no matter the conditions. Of course it can’t hang with a winter tire on ice because no A/T can. But, it’s a top tier choice of tire. I’m going to put the same size on LRC on my Tacoma.

Cooper Discoverer A/TT SUV — rated 74%
while driving a Suzuki 1.4 Allgrip for 30000 miles
Very good behavior on dry asphalt, but when it rains they are dangerous, they slide badly. In the snow, traction exists thanks to the 4x4 system, but braking leaves a lot to be desired, - on ice they are useless. In winter they can be compared to a cheap mixed tire.

Goodyear Wrangler Territory M/T — rated 77%
while driving a Ford Bronco for 20000 miles
This is the OEM tire that came with my 2023 bronco wildtrak. You all know this snow storm that swapped away across the US end of January 2026... So I decided to go on a winter snowmobile trail. Its near Lake George, NY. And the road up to some scenic views are closed to normal cars because roads were basically ice or snow in freezing temp. I went all the way up with just 4 auto . Note that I have about 36000 miles on this OEM tire. When I was up there I got off to see the views and holy molly it was slippery. I could barely walk. These tires are so darn good in snow and ice that it surprised me. When I went down, I got a ticket as the cop was waiting for me LOL . He was like how the hell did you get up there. I think its close to if not the best snow and ice performing tire I've ever owned. I also drove to Colorade engineering pass without any problems. I drove on sand and it also performed great. The road noices are a bit there but overall its not really bad. Only gripe would be that they run small. Like a 315/70/r17 should be 34.4 inch but I feel like mine are 33 inch at most. But they are light @ 54 lbs where falken at4w are like 74 lbs . AND THEY ARE CHEAP on walmart. Going at around 230 a piece. So if you're not a heavy duty rock crawler, its a good compromise.
