Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT Owner Reviews

Review this tire

What owners say summarised from 5 reviews

Owners value the Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT for off-road traction and price, each praised by three of five drivers, with two also reporting useful snow traction. The clearest drawback is noise, criticised by three owners who all describe it getting louder with mileage. This is a repeated later-use pattern, including one driver replacing the tire despite plenty of tread because noise and handling had become unacceptable. Two owners dislike the sidewalls, although one describes the soft, vague feel specifically after lowering pressures off road. The small group offers more consistent support for traction and affordability than for quiet road use as the tire wears.

I'm on my second set of Goodyear Territory MT tires. The first set I had 27,000 miles and then I got a new vehicle that came with new Territories. These are hard to beat tires for the price. They provide grip in every situation I've put them through (Including mud & water coming over the hood of the truck and they had more traction and performance than a truck behind me with the infamous Nitto's). My biggest dislikes are they get very noisy starting at about 20,000 miles, even with rotations every 3,000 miles. These tires also have weak sidewalls, but their price makes replacing them not very painful.

The tires have been fine. I’ve done a little offroading in them and they worked good. They have never been great or terrible at anything. They have gotten noticeably noisier as they’ve worn.

They started out fine, however the amount of road noise has become unbearable after just 60,000kms. They were always rotated on time, but worn poorly and have become extremely noisy to the point where i no longer want to drive my truck. There is still a ton of tread left but the handling and the noise have become unacceptable; new ones have been ordered and these are going in the trash.

This is the OEM tire that came with my 2023 bronco wildtrak. You all know this snow storm that swapped away across the US end of January 2026... So I decided to go on a winter snowmobile trail. Its near Lake George, NY. And the road up to some scenic views are closed to normal cars because roads were basically ice or snow in freezing temp. I went all the way up with just 4 auto . Note that I have about 36000 miles on this OEM tire. When I was up there I got off to see the views and holy molly it was slippery. I could barely walk. These tires are so darn good in snow and ice that it surprised me. When I went down, I got a ticket as the cop was waiting for me LOL . He was like how the hell did you get up there. I think its close to if not the best snow and ice performing tire I've ever owned. I also drove to Colorade engineering pass without any problems. I drove on sand and it also performed great. The road noices are a bit there but overall its not really bad. Only gripe would be that they run small. Like a 315/70/r17 should be 34.4 inch but I feel like mine are 33 inch at most. But they are light @ 54 lbs where falken at4w are like 74 lbs . AND THEY ARE CHEAP on walmart. Going at around 230 a piece. So if you're not a heavy duty rock crawler, its a good compromise.

These tires came on my 2023 Chevy ZR2 Silverado. Three days after buying this truck I had to drive 1- hours across the eastern US that finished with a snowstorm that was not predicted. As I was traveling at 50 mph due to conditions, a car spun out on the freeway about 100 yards behind me. I wouldn't have known the roads were this slick because I had plenty of traction and zero issues. Yes, the tires only had 500 miles on them, but this was quite impressive. The Goodyear Territory MT's look essentially like a Duratrac and perform in a very similar manner. These tires are very light at 45 lbs each for this tire size. They provide a comfortable ride on the roads with very good grip in the wet and the dry. They are inexpensive at 265.00 per tire. On an off-road trip in New Hampshire, airing down to 18 psi gave my truck a very low riding height and the soft sidewalls made driving feel very squishy. I had a hard time feeling what the tire was doing, but also where it was tracking. This tire did really well over baby head sized rocks, 3-4 ft ledges, icy trails and 5 ft deep water/mud bogs (trucks with Nitto's spun out in this section). Where this tire failed was in rock gardens where the 2-ply sidewall was no match for the rough granite trails of the Northeast. Fortunately it was cheap to replace. As with the Duratrac's, this tire gets noticeably louder the more miles you put on it. These tires do not come with a mileage warranty, and at 24,000 miles, they are seemingly twice as loud as when I first started driving on them. I had Duratrac's on my 2019 Silverado and switched to the mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT's which were a significant upgrade. For this new truck, the Mickey Thompson's are 26 lbs heavier per tire than these Territory MT's. So the search for a suitable replacement continues...
