2022/23 Best 9 All Terrain Tires - 1st of 9 tires

  • Positive - Very short wet braking and good wet handling, high aquaplaning resistance, very good off road, low noise, good levels of comfort, lowest rolling resistance on test.
  • Negative - Long dry braking and slow dry handling with slow reactions to steering inputs.
  • Overall - The Firestone Destination A/T2 finished just 0.03% ahead of the Continental, but with a slightly different personality. Like the Continental it was exceptional in all the wet tests, but unlike the TerrainContact AT it was also one of the best tires in the off road tests. It also had an excellent level of comfort, low noise, and the lowest rolling resistance on test which is a fantastic combination of things. The negatives of the tire, it couldn't keep up with the Conti in the dry, and its steering response wasn't the best of the group. Like the Goodyear and Continental, this is the final tire we're putting the tire reviews highly recommended stamp on, and a very good road bias all terrain tire.

Given 59% while driving a Jeep compass (235/65 R17) on a combination of roads for 30 spirited miles
Ignoring all the issues I’ve had with have the tire installed on my wheels, I have had to replace three of my four tires and had one patched just from driving on well maintained forest service roads with nothing more the some pot holes. So if all-terrain means to you being able to go into the mountains and forest on dirt roads without having to worry about blowing out a tire I wouldn’t recommend these. They are pretty great in the snow though. I never had to chain up going over some very snowy icy passes. They also handle very well in the rain. Over all they are good tires if your not actually looking to leave the pavement more then every now and again.

I really like these tires, I've not used them on ice yet but in snow they're really awesome and they're 3peak 3PMS rated!

My 2015, 2-wheel drive work truck came from the factory with street tires, but after nine years of suffering with poor traction, on and off road, I went for the Firestone (BF Goodrich) Destination A/T2 all-terrain tires. They are a bit stiffer than the old street tires, but they are quiet and smooth at highway speeds, work great on wet roads, and have plenty of traction on grass, mud and gravel. I use dedicated winter tires on my street car, so I can tell the truck is not as good on snow and ice, but that's not critical for the all-purpose nature of my truck
