Extremely Disappointed with Yokohama Geolandar AT Tires
I purchased Yokohama Geolandar AT off-road tires in March, expecting high quality from a reputed brand. However, one month ago, one of the tires developed large balloons and eventually burst. Despite this clear manufacturing defect, Yokohama refused to honor the warranty, stating that since the tire had already burst, it wasn't covered.
To make matters worse, another tire has now developed two balloons, again a clear sign of a defect, yet Yokohama continues to deny responsibility, claiming it’s not a manufacturing issue, even though the tire is still under warranty.
This experience has been extremely disappointing. It’s not just about poor product quality but also a serious safety concern. Defective tires like these are a major risk to life, and Yokohama’s refusal to address the issue under warranty is unacceptable. I strongly advise others to think twice before purchasing Yokohama tires, as the company does not seem to stand behind their product or their warranty
Appart from being mediocre on ice, this tire has done everything i ever asked it to do. Being a geologist i have to drive to some remote and off road places for my fieldwork and the geolandars have never let me down. I used them on gravel, mud, snow, grass, sand, loose rocks, any material you can think to drive on, and they never let me down. I was especially impressed on steep loose rock based inclines, where the grip was phenomenal, as well as medium to deep mud, where i could easily drive off the track and get myself killed. The only "letdown" of these tires are the ice grip, where they do seem to struggle, but for their budget and being an AT - all season tire i couldn't ask anything more.

I moved 2x Foresters and an Outback onto Geolanders GO12 tread because they are suv tires with excellent sidewall protection on our unsealed roads. I do full motorway, country farm offroad river and beach driving. These tires are well rated for my level of all round daily use and I have never had a problem with them. They complement the symmetrical awd of these vehicles I find I can go where other awd/4wd vehicles get stuck.

I have several hundred thousand miles of UK driving, with a lot of off road experience. I've used most of the all terrain tires out there.( having worked in agriculture and for a major power utility ) I have used snow chains for extreme conditions in years gone by. ( nothing beats them once you get the darn things on ) We've just had another big freeze in the UK leaving very wet snow in the aftermath. I have needed to get my wife to the local hospital where she works. In the last few days these tires have made it through every journey without resorting to the snow chains.That has included wading through fresh snow drifts two feet deep, ice, wet snow and slush.They appear to be wearing well after 20k miles, perform well on normal road driving and are good on mixed conditions and soil types off road. I was amazed at how much better they have been in the snow than my previous all terrains. I have literally been running rings round other 4x4,s, some on mud tires, and seen many road tire clad AWD's abandoned. All that without the chains. Definitely will buy again, especially as they are good for what we drive on normally, ie just good ol, wet uk roads.

Wet breaking is good but with the first drop of rain you have to pay a lot of attention. The wear is fantastic. I have done 90.000km and I think to do another 20.000km. In off road you can do anything..incredible tires..shoulder very solid. But when the temperature goes under 2 celsius degree you have to drive very very quiet, especially with the snow, because the polimers of tires soffers a lot the low temperatures.

I use these tires on my mitsi shogun on really rough terrain (low ratio 4x4) in the mountains of northern Spain. The terrain is rocky tracks, dry gravel and when the weather kicks in deep mud and deep snow (0.5m).. Even towing half tonne loads up steep slopes these tires don't lose grip.They only last about 12 months, 10000 miles but given the conditions I'm happy with that. On tarmac they are great, no road noise, handle well, feel good. I've only ever had one puncture in the rough ground and it was a slow one which is amazing.

While I never really explored the dry and wet limits of these tires what I can say is that in snow they are fantastic: levels of grip only expected from studded tires. As for wear, we sold our car at 43,000 miles and there was still a little useable tread on the original fronts and rears!
These tires are excellent. Living in the highlands of Scotland they deal with everything from dry roads to mud, ice and snow. They make such a difference to the 4 wheel drive capabilities of my vehicle and especially in snow. I would recommend these to anyone thinking of purchasing them.
Cons - you do compromise on noise and fuel consumption but not enough to make a vast difference. Peace of mind makes up for any of these concerns.
Super tires lasted 3yrs & 33000 miles,diagonal wheel change only once.Replaced General Grabbers which lasted 2yrs &23000 miles.Would I purchase again? Absoloutely 4 replacements ordered.
Bought these for my Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD. Found them to be excellent on and off road. Handling on the road is good. Off roading they were more then capable, (not talking extreme off roading). Had no worries whatsoever in mud, wet, uphill climbs etc etc. I will definitely be buying again.
