Common questions
Which brand is Continental compared against most?
Michelin, in 25 of the 135 head-to-head comparisons Continental appears in. Across the 210 tests those pairs shared, Continental finished ahead 116 times and Michelin 75 times.
Which Continental tire is compared most often?
The Continental PremiumContact 7, which appears in 28 comparisons. It has finished ahead of its rival in 175 of the 220 shared tests behind those comparisons.
How does Continental do head-to-head?
Across 135 comparisons against 27 other brands, settled by 257 independent tests, Continental tires finished ahead of the rival in 846 results, behind in 286 and level in 36, counting each pair in each test once. Each comparison page lists the tests behind its own record.
What counts as a shared test?
One independent tire test that included both tires: the same car, the same track, the same day and the same tester. Only those tests feed a head-to-head record. Two tires that each won a different test in a different year have not been compared, so a comparison with no shared tests carries no record.
Run a Continental tire?
Review it and the next driver comparing it against something else gets your experience alongside the test data. It takes about five minutes.
Where the record comes from
Only published independent tests count. A pair of tires earns a result when one test drove both on the same car, on the same day, and the tire that finished higher in that test takes the win. Two tires that each won a different test in different years have not met.
What the TR Score is
One number out of 10 for a tire's standing across every test and owner review we hold for it, weighted by how much evidence backs it. It is not the head-to-head record, which counts only the tests the two tires shared, so two tires can have close scores and a lopsided record, or the reverse.
How often it updates
Every time a test is published its results feed every comparison it touches, so a record on this page can change the day a new test lands. The most-opened list is a rolling 30-day count.
