Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 vs Continental AllSeasonContact 2

This head-to-head pitches two of the best premium all-season touring tires against each other: Bridgestone's Turanza All Season 6 and Continental's AllSeasonContact 2. Across 18 shared tests, both consistently finish near the top, but they get there with different philosophies. Bridgestone leans toward summer-tire manners with outstanding dry stopping and strong aquaplaning reserves, while Continental prioritizes low rolling resistance, comfort, and class-leading winter capability.

Expect a close contest: Bridgestone frequently tops dry braking charts by 4-8% and resists aquaplaning better in most sizes, while Continental repeatedly wins wet handling, rolls more efficiently, runs quieter, and is notably stronger on snow and ice. The choice largely hinges on your climate and efficiency priorities.

Let's look at how the two tires compare across multiple tire test categories.

Key Strengths

  • Best-in-class dry braking across tests (often 4-8% shorter than Continental)
  • Excellent aquaplaning resistance (straight and curved) in most sizes
  • Strong wet braking and competitive wet performance
  • Often better value/longevity in several tests (lower abrasion, good wear)
  • Superior winter performance (snow traction/handling and ice braking)
  • Lowest rolling resistance on test (fuel-saving efficiency)
  • Consistently strong wet handling and balanced grip
  • Lower noise and higher comfort ratings in multiple tests

Real World Driver Reviews

Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 Driver Reviews

Drivers generally report the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 as a confident, “summer-ish” all-season tire with strong dry and especially wet grip, good aquaplaning resistance, and a comfortable, often quiet ride. Many also note very good wear/longevity and good value versus rival premium all-seasons, making it a popular choice for mild, wet climates. The most repeated drawbacks are reduced steering feel (numbness) and slightly higher rolling resistance/fuel use, and several users caution that ice/deeper-winter performance is only average compared with a true winter tire.

Based on 34 reviews with an average rating of 79%

Continental AllSeasonContact 2 Driver Reviews

Drivers generally describe the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 as a very capable, confidence-inspiring all-season tire with standout wet grip, strong cold-weather traction, and reassuring light-snow performance, often paired with good comfort and low noise. Many high-scoring reviews also report stable, predictable behaviour across a wide temperature range and, in some cases, excellent tread life. The most repeated downside is a softer, less precise steering feel (on-centre vagueness/response delay), especially when driven hard in warm, dry conditions. A smaller but notable group also reports faster-than-expected wear on some vehicles/axles.

Best Review for the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6
Given 90% 225/45 R17 on a combination of roads for 300 average miles
Hi, I've done around 500km on new Turanza, mainly in city. I've got Mondeo mk4 1.6TDCI after chip. I've used previously Vredestein Quatrac Pro. I've have tested so far Bridgestone on the dry and wet in 20-5C. So far they more comfortable than Vredestein Quatrac Pro, noise is around the same (so they rather quiet tires - I've been using 225/50 R17 (not a standard Mondeo mk4, but similiar size (a bit bigger than standard 215/50R17 and smaller than next standard tire 235/45R18))). On dry Bridgestones are more gripper than Vredestein and on wet the are excellent compared to Vredestein. On Quatrac... Continue reading this review using the link below

Best Review for the Continental AllSeasonContact 2
Given 88% 225/40 R18 on a combination of roads for 50 spirited miles
Compared to my previous premium summer tires, the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 is incredibly quiet and has fantastic grip. I am driving a plug-in hybrid Audi A3, and it became basically silent in fully electric mode. I always had wheelspin when I accelerated a little harder, because of the instant torque of the electric motor. What fascinates me is that this happened with both Bridgestone and Vredestein summer tires in warm, dry weather conditions. This is no longer the case with the ASC2. The rolling resistance also feels much better, the car coasts so effortlessly. Power consumption... Continue reading this review using the link below

Conclusion

If you value crisp summer-like behavior and maximum safety margins in heavy rain, the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 is the safer-feeling pick: it dominates dry braking (17/17 category wins) and regularly leads straight and curved aquaplaning, often by 5-13%. It also delivers strong wet braking and typically better value per 1000 km where wear tests favor it.

If your winters are real-or you care about fuel economy and comfort-the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 is the more rounded year-rounder. It repeatedly finishes higher overall, wins most wet handling and nearly all snow/ice metrics, is quieter, and has the lowest rolling resistance on test, translating to lower fuel use. The practical takeaway: Bridgestone for milder climates and heavy rain confidence; Continental for colder regions and efficiency without obvious weaknesses.
Key Differences
  • Bridgestone stops shorter on dry in virtually every test; Continental concedes dry braking but remains safe.
  • Continental is stronger on snow and ice (traction, handling, and braking); Bridgestone is mid-pack on snow.
  • Wet handling favors Continental; wet braking is usually a wash, with Bridgestone often marginally quicker.
  • Aquaplaning resistance clearly favors Bridgestone (both straight and curved) in most sizes.
  • Rolling resistance and cabin noise favor Continental (noticeably lower RR; quieter subjectively).
  • Value and wear trade-offs: Bridgestone often shows lower abrasion and better price-per-1000 km; Continental sometimes posts higher predicted mileage but at a higher purchase price.

Footnote

This page has been developed using tire industry testing best practices. This means we are only comparing tests which have had both tires in the same test.

Why is this important? Tire testing is heavily affected by things like surface grip levels and surface temperature, which means you can only compare values from the same day. During a tire test external condition changes are calculated into the overall results, but it is not possible to calculate this between tire tests performed on different days or at different locations.

As a result you will see other tests on Tire Reviews which feature both the %s and %s, but as they weren't conducted on the same day, the results are not comparable.

Lots of other websites do this sort of tire comparison, Tire Reviews doesn't.
