Best Tires for the Vauxhall Vectra

Not bad at all, driving a heavily modified diesel with a massive hybrid turbo and a boat load of torque. Likes to spin up tires no matter what the brand. These tires are great.

Have had these Nokians fitted for 15k miles and time to swap them out. Initially I was impressed by them, relatively quiet, handling good in dry and great in wet. Sidewall is too soft to throw the car into corners but balance of the car was ok, no snap under or oversteer. However the biggest problem with these tires (and Nokian powerproof which I replaced the fronts with last year) is that only after a year, there are cracks all over the tire, in between tread blocks. I also run a little more than usual camber in the rear and you’d expect the inside shoulder to wear more, which it has, but not just wear, it’s RIPPED the rubber and caused deep cuts to it. I’m swapping them out for a pair of Goodyear efficient grip performance 2’s. I’m not risking my life with the Nokians. I’ll never touch Nokian again. Initially I rated them highly as a daily tire. Now, stay away.

I have bought 4 AAA P606 summer tires under £200, They are great budget tires, Handle well in wet and dry weather ( I have driven them in snow few times as well which they handled all right). Done around 14k miles on them in 4 years and they have had still good amount of thread left, but had to replace them because they started dry rotting. Over all great tires if you are on the budged with performance of premium tires, I recommend them and will buy them again.

Truly dreadful tires, stay clear of this brand at all costs. Ended up having a crash thanks to these useless tires in the rain. Not speeding, knew the road well and just turned it as usual, back end instantly came around and spun the car into a 90 degree angle straight into a lamp post, sending the car into a 180. Car was a total loss and needed a new bumper, headlamp, wing, bonnet, crash bar, foglamp, wheel, washer bottle, suspension arm and wiring loom as it chopped through every single wire on the front end. Got written off and paid out, car was repaired and the tires were thrown straight into the tip. Wasn't the end of the story though, bought another car to replace the old one and changed the wheels for some new ones we got, didn't realise they had autogrip tires on and as you can guess, two went straight in the bin (rears) and were replaced with Michelin pilot sport 4 tires on the rear and never had a problem with grip. Front tires were kept as they had 6mm tread on them and we thought they'd wear out soon enough but almost 10,000 miles later, they still have 4mm left on them so the only good thing I will say is these tires last ages and refuse to wear. Wouldn't buy any Autogrip tires ever again, better tires are out there for less money. If you have them on your car already, make sure you're very careful in wet conditions as they love to make the car aquaplane.

Wow what a waste of money. I bought these tires after the Vectra Forum recommended them. Apparently the Saab boys rave about them too. Reasonable in the dry but in the wet very poor. Only the second time i've experienced oversteer in a fwd car. Removed them at about 5mm, threw them away and bought Uniroyals RS3's instead.

I bought a Vectra B GSi 2.5 V6 (Facelift) with these already fitted in about 2005, I had not previously heard of them but now I won't fit any other tire brand to my cars. I have recommended them to anyone I know that asks me (I'm a mechanic) and as I look after all the vehicles in my family, I obviously only fit these as they are ready for changing. The handling at the limit score I gave is at MY limit, I always remove my tires at 3mm in winter (all 4) and 2.5mm in summer, I never run tires to the markers as this is the MINIMUM for safety and I my own vehicles are always high powered. I have never once felt like I was in trouble with these tires fitted and as for handling, my own opinion is why risk a change when these have performed at an outstanding level. This may just be how I am personally, but I check my tire pressures sometimes 4 times in a week depending on how many miles I have been doing, I check them after EVERY long motorway journey (say over 100 miles or more) and keep them supple with conditioners after washing (the outlay is a no brainer to keep the outer walls from drying out in direct sun if nothing else) I have had a Vectra VXR now for over 10 years, I changed the Conti's to 'VRed's' as soon as they were ready and apart from a friend offering me a set of two Conti Sport Contacts for a price I wasn't able to refuse, I have only had Vred's on. I do all kinds of mileage, motorway as well as city and just occasionally when there is no risk to any other road user I have a little 'play' and put her through her paces ... these tires IMO are as crucial to the vehicle (and my peace of mind) as the suspension and steering ... I get about a bit with mixed mileage, the last set changed - rear are still on at 4.5mm and 30,000 miles - front JUST changed, I removed the Reds after 23,500 miles at 3mm and put aforementioned Conti's on, I removed those at 15,500 miles with 3mm left ... Overall opinion ... The most UNDERRATED tire on the market ... These are Very High Performance tires masquerading as a better than mid range tire ... but Shhh .. or the price will go up !!

Excellent Tire. Very sure footed in the dry and decent in the wet, in the snow you have to take it easy but they are ok. the longevity of this tire is amazing, nearly 46000 miles! Comfort is also excellent. Would highly recommend this tire if your looking for an all-rounder.

Got an old vectra wagon, so it was never going to handle well. But the roads where I live a very slippery and with the V6 I got a lot of tire spin on certain parts in the dry under low acceleration. These new tires absolutely stopped all of this. Possibly due the old tires being hard and old, but these were a night and day difference in grip in both wet and dry. Really impressive in the wet actually. I also found the rate at which you lost grip, and then regained it while cornering quite predictable and reassuring. Another noticeable difference was smoothness and quietness of the ride. I have done about 3,000 miles in them, so can't comment on wear yet. If I have one complaint I have the feeling the grip is not the same now as when new - slightly reduced in both wet and dry, but still very good. All in all my confidence in being able to get round a corner and stop in time in an emergency has been greatly increased. So far I am very happy with them, would recommend them and buy them again.

I got rid of a van which was not really being used to it's potential in my business and went back to using an estate car as I did years previous.
A sub £1000 Vectra SRi fitted the bill , great car in great condition on a 57 plate on a small budget....never really thought about fun while driving from job to job, but after a few back road blasts it became very apparent that the vectra estate( quite a lardy car despite the SRi branding) was actually pretty dam grippy and balanced to a degree that left me quite shocked.No doubting that the chassis must take some praise as it's stiff and well damped, but
The tires fitted we're non other than these Nankang NS20,s and the lateral g you can generate is quite astounding for what is a cheap sports tire.
My plaything car is a modfified RX8 running on Kuhmo KU36,s, worked suspension too and if I was driving against myself in both vehicles I would not be feeling like the poor cousin on the Nankangs....they install quite a bit of confidence, seem stiff on the sidewalls and grip tenaciously.They run quiet too
I would buy again for sure..and will soon.
I recommend highley, budget driven or not.

Now at 2mm tread after 26,000 miles on the front axle of a Vectra 150bhp SRI CTDI. Incredible low wear rate and so fantastic value for money. They were fitted on 5th December 2015; so 2 and 1/2 years from a set with 394nm of torque to deal with. Still capable of hill starts in snow at 2mm tread depth too. Great wet and dry grip and very comfortable too. I would definitely buy these again as the slightly higher cost provides tires that have lasted more than twice as long as other premium tires.
