BMW 218d Active Tourer Tire Review Highlights

Driving on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
I've been driving my BMW with Pirelli Cinturato C3 tires only for a week now, but what I noticed right away is that I can now drive my car as if it were a toy I'm holding in my hand and I can turn it quickly and safely in any direction I want. All I have to do now is turn the wheel in the direction and degree I want without worrying at all if the car will skid or lose control, that's how safe these tires are. The tires are not noisy and maybe they can be even quieter over time, I don't know if there are other tires that could be even quieter...comfort?! The tires give the feeling as if the car is moving on a single large, very balanced tire and not on four of them, and I mean that in the most positive sense possible. At higher speeds, the tires do not seem to be glued to the asphalt nor do they prevent the car from moving promptly at the desired speed, nor will you experience the tire as the main factor that dictates the dynamics at high speed, on a straight road they become one with the car, for the moment, but when you need to maneuver the car quickly or brake, in the smallest to the largest maneuvers, then the tires come alive and oh boy, so alive, to remind you that they are there for you to keep you safe and in control. Of course I can't know how long they can be there for you but for as long as they will be, you and your car are in safe hands. I am really impressed how good these tires are.

Had them for 3 years now. Till last week, I always bragged how good my decision was to buy all season tires. I live in continental Europe. We don't get snow any more like we did when I was younger. All that has changed. In winter now we get few cm snow at best, and temp. few degrees below 0. That is why I decided not tu buy set of winter tires. And was happy with my decision. But this weekend I drove into montains. No, not Alps, just some 1000m altitide. When I wanted to park, there was unpaved road with some compacted snow on it. It was uphill. I was unable to get forward! Wheels were just spinning! And there were at least 10 other cars who drove on the same road without any issues! What a disappointment! When I tried to turn around, my car started to slip. Almost hitting a tree. I don't understand how these got so good reviews on tire tests in snow. So, even if driving to montains every 3 years, next time I'm buying real winter tires.

Like other reviewers mentioned, the tires are disastrous in any wet conditions. Just went through a puddle and then my tires would skid in straight line braking… unbelievable

I am a big fan of Michelin PSS tires but this is just not up to par at all. Took delivery of my XPENG G6 OEM tires for only 10 days and now I have to pay 15k to get a new set of tires

The tires are just unsafe stay away from them

Fitted on my BMW X5 with staggered 20 inch rims. First impression was horror. But......due to idiot fitters putting 52psi in , and not balanced correctly. Upon putting pressure correct, and getting rebalanced at a proper tire fitters, I don't know any difference from my previous Bridgestone Duellers. Or continentals. No problem whatsoever. Not Star rated for BMW X5 but no probs with transfer box ,so must be consistent on diameter. Look good , cheap, and as my X5 chews rears on inner tread making contis etc uneconomical , I think these harder compound half the price will last a lot longer. Most reviewers would know the difference if these were fitted without their knowing. There aren't many awful budget brands nowadays. Some are even the previous compound and tread / mould of big brands with different make on the mould

OEM for the i4e40. The tire has very obvious priorities. Rolling resistance and noise. It really excels in these two areas. But thankfully it is not useless in all other key aspects. Dry, wet, braking, feedback, they are all ok. Not great, but not mediocre either. Great choice for this car, but I will choose something better for the next round, even if I give away a couple of dozen miles of range

Great tires for high demanding bikes and bikers, the quality the rubber is excellent if you are one of those extreme bikers that wanna lean yourself daily at angles over 50 degrees, the tire feel with the road is funtastic. It doesnt last much 7.000km was the most i could take out of this tire but it was 1500km to many of what they really can assure, the center of the tire its extremely soft so if you do alot of straights and lean max around the 35 to 40 degrees and daily use less then 35 be prepared to have a square tire after 2500 3000 km, the tire is magnificent on dry and thats about it, wont be getting it again there are better options at a lower price for average sport usage that will last alot longer then this one without performance decrease on a middleweight naked. I had these tires fitted to my 430i G22 from BMW when I collected the car from them. This tire behaves in a very strange way. When cold, the tire doesn't inspire confidence and, especially in the wet, tends to oversteer a lot, not being easy to control. On the other hand, it manages hot temperatures very badly, again loosing grip after 30+°C and making the car understeer a little, but at least they were managable. The real issue i had was the very short lifespan of the rear tires, complitely gone after 9000km of both normal and spirited driving (never tracked the car, of course). I will never buy this tire again, and I can advise you to do the same.

Check Price Specifications Size: 255/55R201110H XL Maximum Payload: 2337 lbs Weight: 34 lbs It’s great if you own tires with perfect wet grip. They are ideal for safe driving, stability, balance and the Michelin Defender LTX M/S is one such product. This impressive feature is improved by the design and construction materials of the product.
