I had to replace my Continental sport contact 5SSR tires after 8000 miles in 14 months time. I have an Infiniti Q 60 coupe 2021. These are the run flat tires. I hydroplaned on a freeway in Miami traffic. I checked the air and it was good. I took it to my auto mechanic and he took a tire and showed me it was bald to the cording. That was the most frightening experience. I drive mainly small city living and a little bit of freeway driving. No weather in Southwest Florida to speak of except rain. I was shocked that these tires wore out like this. And no support from Continental. A $200 discount on $1300 worth of tires before labor and installation. Never again. I just had some good year assurance comfort drive tires put on my car.
I put these on the rear of my 130i to replace a set of rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Zero Pressure. I'm really surprised - the Contis are much better, even though they were launched in 2011 compared to the Michelin's 2017. Grip is much better, and the TYPE of feel is, IMO, far superior from an enthusiast point of view. They wear out much faster, though. Worth it, IMO, on any enthusiast car that you might choose to put runflats on. I just wish they were also available in my front size too - 205/50 17

I had an accident in the first rainy weather after buying the tires, you can completely lose control of the vehicle in the slightest puddle. The road holding is mediocre at high speeds, and you can also feel serious vibration and road noise. Also, it feels very hard on bumps and rough roads. I can't possibly buy such bad tires again after spending so much money. Unfortunately, the tire life is very long. I always drive the car in sport mode to get rid of them and wear them out as soon as possible, I will never buy a non-Michelin runflat tire again.

These tires came standard on my year 2017 Mercedes C350e when bought new. They were the front tires. It’s March 2025 now and there only 27000km on the clock of my car, but they were replaced 3 years ago, in 2022! I’m a very soft driver. Terribly poor tire wear! Shame on Continental.

I am thinking these will last 30,000 miles and so far no complaints. Dry and Wet handling Excellent, Comfort good for Run Flat, and wear rate is amazing for Conti's as they usually wear quite fast. This tire grips excellently in the dry and has decent wet weather performance. However, the wear is horrendous and the ride comfort is horrible (as is expected with a sport runflat). The worst part about it is its durability. I live an a pothole prone area and the roads in general aren't the greatest. This tire is known to get tire bubbles and punctures extremely easily and forces you to buy a whole new tire to replace it. There are MANY better options especially for the absurdly high price tag. I have since gotten rid of them because I do not want to deal with its mediocre performance with bad durability and bad comfort.
Bought the car with them brand new. The rear tires were almost gone after 13,000miles, then rotated to the front and got 7,000 miles more.
Tires have great dry grip, but below average wet grip. But what really made me ditch them was the comfort: VERY harsh, you can feel every bump on the road. My friend got a G20 with lowered suspension and R18 non run-flat tires, and his care is more comfortable than mine with stock suspension and R17 wheels.
I`ll definitely go for non-run flats this time.
I run all 4 corners with these on my Mercedes 2007 ML63 AMG . First these tires are great lookers. Best looking tire in that size range for SUVs. With 500hp+ I have no problem out running most 2 seaters on a curvy road. I only get about 12k miles or so on them but I absolutely love them. I just chalk them up to my entertainment expense!
For my 2011 BMW X1 E84 X-Drive I bought a new set of 4 of these run-flat tires. The fronts are 225/45/18, the rears 255/40/18.
In the 2 years of use I can say they are an excellent, but not exceptional, tire. My driving is a mix of inner city urban, open road highway and rough unsealed gravel roads. They perform fine in the city, nothing really negative to report here. On the open road/highway I find them noisier than I'd hoped and the ride is firm and at times unforgiving over bumps, so much so that at speed I have to have two hands on the wheel so as not to be thrown off-track! This is probably my biggest criticism of what I assume is the characteristic hard and lumpy ride of these run-flats. On the positive side, they handle in and out of corners at speed well.
I'm considering changing to non run-flats, probably Michelin Pilot Sport 4 front and rear as a well-reviewed, quieter and more comfortable alternative.
Never been keen on runflats but they were fitted on the car when purchased so went along with them. However 2 x cracked front wheels later I’m not impressed, the ride is so unbelievably hard even with the suspension set to comfort, you will feel every tiny bump. dry grip is great but wet grip isn’t so good I have lost it twice and had to correct oversteer even with 4 wheel drive, in the tires defence it does have 400hp. Road noise is a little high. They are coming off this week and getting replaced with non runflats. I wouldn’t buy them again.
I have a BMW 228i convertible, I drive the vehicle in eco mode 90% of the time but i'm only getting less than 10000km on a pair. Uneven wear, I'm very disappointed with the brand.
