The tire pressure for the Continental UltraContact UC6 is vehicle and load specific. The correct tire pressure for your vehicle can usually be found on a sticker in the door shut of the driver's door, or in the manufacturer's handbook.

I am looking for the best performance tire in a 195 65 15 for a road race austin healey 3000. I was about to buy continental premium contact 5 when I was told that the ultra contact 6 is a far superior tire. He said that was based on your web site. Yet you have not done any testing. Only comments from people with cars like a toyota corolla. So how can you possible give this tire such a high score

The Continental UltraContact range is for the American market and not available in the UK, so if you were looking at the Premium Contact 5 which is a European pattern, it's unlikely you will be able to purchase both.

Is the UC6 good for a family use, town only, 10,000km/year average, on a citroën c4 2006 (5-door hatchback) ?

The UltraContact 6 would be fine for you, however it's worth noting the UC6 is a longer lasting tire, and with your low mileage it might age out before it wears out. If available in your region I would opt for the Continental PremiumContact 7 for the slightly improved wet performance.

Hi, could you please compare it to primacy 4 on 205/55/16 my main priority is comfort and wear.

Continental seem to be promoting the UltraContact range more now so there's a chance I'll be able to test it next year, or if not, hopefully another test which will get databased on Tire Reviews will have it in.

Hello, I have purchased Continental UC6 195/65 R15. My basic requirement was soft cushy ride quality, which was supported by all reviews. When I physically got the tires at the store and I pressed the grip by my hand against the floor and the sidewall did not get deformed. I felt it might be hard, but still counted on online feedback. The ride immediately felt Harsher then my old Apollo alnac 4G at same PSI.

1. Will the sidewall get softer after initial usage?
2. Is my way of checking hard Tire, an authentic way?
3. Please grade them on the basis of ride quality, : Conti uc6, Apollo Alnac 4G, Bs turanza T001, Turanza 6i , Bridgestone ecopia ep 150 , Bridgestone Sturdo

To answer your questions:

1) Unlikely. You can try reducing pressure by a few PSI, but be sure to keep an eye on shoulder wear if you do.
2) Sometimes. I always give the tires a squeeze however sometimes I am surprised by a firm feeling tire being best in comfort.
3) Sorry, I don't have any experience with those models.

The difference between Dunlop Enasave Ec 300 and Continental UC6 is big. I can go 100kph without realizing it with my Mazda 2 sedan. I find that the dry and wet grip of the tire is very good if compared to my original stock Dunlop tire. I'm not sure about the wear rate as i've just fitted the tire for only 2 months. UC 6 might not have the same comfort level with the CC6 but for a tire meant for handling and griping, i find it surprisingly comfortable. The downside of the tire is that it costs me a fortune even though it was made in Malaysia , my own country, the price shouldn't be setting that high. Overall i would recommend UC 6 to those who wish to seek for good handling and comfort if one dont wish to use sport tires .

If you compare the UC6s with budget chinese tires they are parseks ahead. But they cost you a small fortune... no need to mention improved grip, wet handling etc...

I've tried several brand and model. UC6 is quite matched with my driving style the most. It incredibly gives the feeling of confident and comfort. The noise is unbelievable quiet compared with its handling. And when compare the noise with my new Toyo C2S, i feel UC6 gives lower noise. The only complaint is that it is not long lasting. I personally don't like tire rotation. So, it can be used only 55k Km with my car. Anyway, I'll seek for it first for the next replacement.

It is outstanding performance in the wet weather compared to the preivous mid-high end sets of FALKEN or Bridgestone. It is easy crossing the kerb and slats while the hending is sensational. You will have confident to cut the sharp corners and sudden stop on the mark. The only cons might be the wear.

There's a new all season tire, can it be best?!

These tires are not perfect nor great. They are however, a huge improvement over the factory Dunlop Enasave EC300+ in terms of dry grip and wet grip during a heavy downpour.

It's surprisingly confidence inspiring in the wet considering the fact that it's a relatively budget oriented product.

Comfort and noise is actually very good. But that's a given since the UC6 is a premium touring tire per se. However, tire noise is starting creep in after 15,000km.

Wear is good. Plenty of tread left at around the 15,000km mark.

In terms of ride and handling, I still prefer the Dunlops as they are more "fun and playful". But this is subjective. There is definitely much more lateral grip, and understeer is communicative, with a pretty decent reserve before things start to lock up. And yes, I do indulge in my weekly B-roads runs.

Overall decent tires in my subjective opinion. They are not the cheapest in the range, as they can be as expensive as the Primacy 4. However, I can't recommend them if you do a lot of spirited driving.

I started out using UC6 in India. Currently on my second set and I can say it is a hot sell in this country.
I've got them on a ford ecosport and the sidewalls are certainly soft and thin. I get punctures and flats if I go too much off the road but it's a good tire. It also doesnt lose it's handling properties during long runs like the Apollo or the MRFs do.
Talking about wet as well as dry handling, i've driven these tires in the past and I can say it's the best out of all of them:
- Bridgestone turanzas, Potenzas and Ecopias are all much worse (Had them on a Corolla)
- Much Better than Apollo tires (A suzuki)
- Not in the same class but better grip than Yokohama A Drive R1 and Michelin Primacy 3ST (A mercedes benz)

I get this tire because there are not many comfortable options given the very stiff suspension on the ecosport. I am always looking for alternatives since it's too soft for my liking.

The tires are comfortable but a bit soft.Road noise seems a bit quite than CC6. The grip is awesome in dry and also wet,except cornering at wet tarmac.At 50 - 60% tread remaining, I'm start feeling this tire a bit sliding during wet road surface Treadwear at 380,it last for 25K miles(3 years) until it reach the replace mark.A solid tires performance at it's price range.For me,PS3 a bit better than UC6

I used this set of tires for 104,0000 kilometers before replacing a new one.Whether it's raining, sunny, waterlogged, no problem.The controls are very good. The sound of tires and roads is not very loud.

Noticeably noisier at high speed. I find the wet grip diminished after prolonged driving in heavy rain which is a bit baffling... although I'm not sure if it's something to do with my car's braking system. Sidewall hard enough and assisted slow drives to repairs during minor punctures.

Totally disappointed with the UC6. Changed from F1D5 to UC6 knowing that it is not sporty as the F1D5. The MC6 is not available in this size and CC6 is known to perform badly in grip. Although there some mixed reviews on UC6 online, mostly are on the positive side. Initially everything seem OK on city driving. The ride was quiet & comfort, even-though the steering feedback is numb, which is still OK for me, I was not expecting the handling like the F1D5. However, things started to get worse as it went on highway. The UC6 rolling tire noise is noticeably loud. It was unbearably loud even at the speed of 90km/h on certain rough highway surface. I could not bear with the noise generated from the UC6 and changed to Eagle F1 Sport after 1 month of usage. I were using the CPC2 before the F1D5, never expected the UC6 to perform so badly. The Eagle F1 Sport performs as good as the F1D5. No complain.

These tires came from the dealership new. Covered just over 50,000kms thus far on less than perfect roads albeit I do alignment, balancing and tire rotation every 10,000kms. Living in a hot wet country and they have done well thus far. My only complaint is like most Continental Tire's, the stiffer sidewalls which aide cornering, end up hurting this tire's comfort and NHV. I experienced the same with the premium contact 2 and sport contact 5 on other vehicles. Is it a premium tire, yes. Is it refined, no Will i replace with the same tire possibly.

Quiet, comfort and superb grip in dry. Much, much better than the Hankook Ventus K114 and the Falken ZE914 that I've used before. I drive mainly on the highways to work, and these tires are top notch. Handling is above average, but hey, I don't drive a sports car anyway. Will definitely buy them again!
