Hyundai Tucson Tire Review Highlights

Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 easy going miles
Very poor tread life. The only pro is the somewhat good dry road grip

Driving on mostly country roads for 4000 average miles
I’ve drive 1000km a week and put these on six weeks ago. They are behaving very well on bad and better roads. Grass and gravel is a pleasure. The only weakness I have found is that they are more prone to aquaplaning than normal road bias tires. Not that they are dangerous but but you have to lower your speed in heavy rain. They are rather soft so comfort and sound is top notch but they need a little bit more air to stabilise the sidewalls for a more spirited drive. Will buy again

Driving on mostly town for 3200 easy going miles
Hello all,
DRY
The tires have very good grip on dry, especially with acceleration.
Stopping distances seems reasonable but I didn't put them on extreme braking, as my driving is not that spirited.
The handling lacks a bit of a feeling and I suspect there is more wall flex, which is a trade off - a bit more floaty but with very good comfort.
Noise seems not a problem as well, if you listen you will hear it but otherwise, especially in the city, you barely notice it.

WET
In the wet, the tires also were OK. I drove fast on a very wet highway and car was controllable.
Still it lacked a bit of a feeling what the car was doing. But keep in mind I drive a 2+ tons suv, so I suspect this might have something to do with it.
But yes, I had no problems following lines, braking or accelerating, or when pushing the car on highway bends with 140 km/h in the wet.

SNOW (slush really)
We had little snow this year in the city and didn't had chance to test these in proper snow, sorry.
However due to our city being quite dirty, I can say that on slush these tires were very good. You feel in control, even when changing lanes trough traffic.
Stopping is also OK but again, I prefer to ease off the gas before braking and generally use little brakes. But I can say, when stopping abruptly these tires were very good.

ICE
Now ice. I had 1 really scary moment, when 1 tire was on ice and I had 0% grip. Tire was just spinning, so the 4WD kicked in and I was able to move.
This is from position stopped to just trying to move past that ice patch, mind you.
This made me really concerned. But when I went out of the car and on that ice patch, I nearly fell off and I was wearing winter boots. Like for real?!
So maybe this was just really, really, really smooth ice.
So I think, maybe whenever tire you have, apart from studded, this patch would be the same.
Just drive carefully when on ice, I guess.

POTHOLES
In general the tires handle these like champions. Mind you my suspension is a bit on the firm side, I feel.
But these tires (esp compared to summer tires, which have firmer walls, in general) were very OK over potholes and uneven surfaces.
I just had 1 moment when I think the pothole (yes we had a lot of those here) was not that big but it still triggered my tire pressure warning, even if tire was not loosing pressure. When I went to the tire shop rim was OK though and tire was OK. We inflated the tire just a tiny bit and after a few kms, the warning went off.
Also side walls seems sturdy, as I brushed the tires against the sidewalk a few times when parking.

WEAR
Wear seems very low after 3200 miles / 5k kms. But its Michelin, so this is what you would expect, I guess, from this brand. And the price.
Mind you not very spirited driver myself. I like my car very much and don't want to end up in a tree. :o)
So tires are pricey but I expect to change them due to years, rather then wear.

NOTE:
Due to the nature of the marking/grooving of the tire, removing the stones from the canals of the tires is very time consuming and annoying.
This is before you conserve them for the next winter/slushy season.

Hope this helps somebody with their tire choice!

Keep up the good work Tire reviews!

Writing about the Michelin CrossClimate 2 given 93% (235-55-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
On dy roads - very good grip and very predictive behaviour. Strong braking, similar feeling to many summer touring tires I prevously used (such as Michelin Primacy 4, Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2, Vredestein Ultrac).

On wet roads - no complaints so far, oversteering when pushed enough, but actually feel very safe. In my opinion, braking is quite strong (according tests, there are better products for that matter, but I don't have any experience with other AS tires).

Wear rate - n/a, too early to tell anything.

Snow - n/a, hoping to have an opportunity soon now, in Dec or Jan.

Comfort level is excellent, especially by considering all other dynamic properties. Almost as a touring premium winter tire.

So far I've driven them between 30°C in Sept
and around 3°C of dry roads during recent few weeks.

What I am worried about is how they will handle high summer temperatures and UV levels (in Jun-Jul-Aug it can be up to 37°C in my area, while asphalt is probably over 60°C). Guys from few tire shops were persuading me that this is the only product that can handle 3 such summers after which ageing degradation becomes noticeable, impacting colder seasons properties.
Honestly, main reason I chose CC2 over Bridgestone Turanza AS6 or Pirelli AS SF3 is because of real-life longevity (ageing, not mileage), which yet has to be proven by these CC2's newest competitors.

Before I bought CC2, car was new with Continental Ecodrive 6. Only good thing I can state is almost non-existing noise level and approx. 5% lower fuel consumption. Grip wasn't good enough for my taste, and aquaplaning was actually scary. I don't think they are good for any comparison.

I’ve used them for two summers in Sweden, driven about 55000km and they still have some useful tread left. None of the tires are below 4.5mm. They are more of an comfortable tire than a sporty but they grip well and have never let me down this far

Easy side wall damage with road imperfections/potholes. Wouldn’t recommend if travelling on roads that aren’t prestine

Replacing these tires after 48.000 km and still 3.5 mm tread by Michelins. Had two punctures and found contiseal technology quite useful.

I find these tires to be very comfortable, which is why I got them. I drive 200km to work, five days a week and I can’t find anything wrong with them so far. I’ve driven approximately 35000km since I bought this set and it has hardly worn at all and they have never disappointed

Have driven about 5000km on them so far and I like the way it handles and the level of comfort. It’s rather soft tire, maybe having a wide sidewall reinforce that feeling, but it gives a feeling of control that suits me well
