The Uniroyal RainSport 5 lives up to its rain-specialist positioning. It has the deepest tread (8.7 mm) and the best aquaplaning results in the test by a clear margin. Wet grip is good and wet braking distances are short. On wet roads the handling is stable but the tire understeers earlier in tight corners, and steering reactions are slightly slow. On dry roads it is the weakest of the established brands - lateral grip and steering precision are noticeably lacking, and the steering feels indirect. It is the lightest tire in the test, produces the lowest pass-by noise, and has low rolling resistance.

The short answer is that I don't know! We've not had any official communication about the Rain Sport 5 yet, as soon as we do the site will be update with data!

is the rainsport 5 235/35/r19 91y xl fr compatible with my porsche Boxster 3.4s

Assuming that is the side for your Boxster then the RainSport 5 is compatible. I've not tested the tire yet, so I'm not sure if it will be a good match.

I’ve got Uniroyal rainsport 5 on my fiesta st2, the tires are 205/40/r17 and the tire pressure light has come on/off a few times, what pressures are correct for the front and rear tires?

I don't have the data for your vehicle, however you should be able to find the pressure sticker inside the door shut on either the driver or passenger door.

does the Uniroyal RainSport 5 265/30 R20 Y (94) have rim protectors?

I'm afraid I've not seen a RainSport 5 in that size, I'd get in touch with Uniroyal to find out about the rim protector status.

Given 70% while driving a Ford Fiesta mk7 (195/50 R15) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
I am in the middle of my second season with these tires, so I have my first conclusions. The tires, despite their name, are not sports tires. They are definitely soft and comfortable tires, guaranteeing very high safety on wet surfaces and sufficient on dry surfaces. In my case, tire wear is 1 mm per 8 thousand km traveled. Depending on the mileage, it is worth answering whether this is a lot or little for us. Compared to my previous Firestone Roadhawk, comfort and noise have significantly improved at the expense of wear and handling.

Very good wet grip, good dry grip, safe understeer balance, stable at high speed (180-200 kph). Very soft sidewall, which makes them quite comfortable (going over bumps), but the handling is vague - definitely not "sporty", as the name suggests. I tried to compensate for the soft sidewall with overinflating front tires, but it helped only a bit, even though Peugeot 206 S16 weighs only 1050 kg. I don't comment on the noise, because in this car, the engine and wind noise are louder (i can hear tires only when I have semi-slics on). I would recommend these to people that need safe tires with lots of wet grip for low price and do not want "sporty" tires.

I was looking for a good handling, good feedback sporty tires with good wet grip, to use them daily and on wet track days. Unfortunately, the sidewall is way too soft for the track - it ruins suspension upgrades. I won't wait until the tread wears out, so I will sell used RainSports 5, and swap them for Kumho Ecsta HS52 or Vredestein Ultrac.

have it only on my front wheel, they are really excellent in wet and big rain with a lot of water. also, i like the special design, looks so good. as mentioned, it's not sport track tire for fast handling, but it could be because of SUV

I have an F11 BMW 530d Touring. I normally buy budget tires as I'm not generally a fast driver. My previous car was a Vauxhall Insignia estate & I had to change tires every year. However, after trying budgets on my BMW and finding rear grip in the damp & wet lacking I decided to get Uniroyal Rains ports after reading reviews. They have been true to reviews I read. These tires are absolutely fine in the dry with grip & comfort being decent. The sidewalls are a wee touch soft which can lead to some slip in the dry if you're really motoring round bends but nothing unpredictable. It's in the wet they really shine though. I've had dozens of cars and these tires are the safest & most planted I've used in damp and wet conditions. They just feel rock solid the wetter it gets. My greatest surprise has been their wear. I've done 18k miles and they still have 3mm on them. This is by far the most I've ever had tires last. My wife's Kia Xceed came with Continental sport contacts on it and they were done at 11.5k miles!

I'm a normal driver, father of two, so, easy driving. At the end of 2nd season (20000km) only 2mm of rubber left!!!
TOO SOFT for 1650kg car, dunno what else to say. Ill never buy them again.
Dry, wet, breaking... excellent. Durability 0!

Good and sufficient dry grip, excellent in wet conditions. The wet performance becomes more apparent the wetter it gets. This tire is not very sporty but very comfortable and suits very well for everyday commuting. I will buy these tires again because I appreciate the performance in wet weather over dry.

This is the second set of tires I've fitted to a Seat Ateca. It's a comfort-oriented, low-noise tire, well-suited to driving in the rain. The front end has 35,000 km and is half worn, which is better than the original Falken. A useful plus: the rim protection edge.

Incredible wet performance. Very grippy in the dry: safe understeer at the limit. Sidewall seems a bit soft therefore it’s not a very precise tire, al thought it is still comfortable even at high speeds.

I stayed with Uniroyal rainsport tires after my first set on rainsport 4 tires, could only get rainsport 5s when I wanted to renew.
Rainsport 4s I couldn't fault them in any way they were brilliant and to add to the brilliant tires they were the cheapest tire at the time of any named brand.
So thought the rainsport 5s would be even better and the tread pattern was changed as well, I thought it didn't look as good as the 4s but thought Uniroyal know what there doing .
That's where my love ended with them when I put the 5s on my car became horrible to drive, in any condition if I were on a motorway, wet or dry the car would need constantly correcting as if there were something wrong with the car, like something loose not a good feeling like drifting vaguely when it felt planted on the 4s.
My car is a focus ST3 in excellent condition so it shouldn't act like it does, I definitely won't be buying Uniroyal rainsport 5s again

Given 58% while driving a Renault clio iv 1.5 DCI 90ps (195/55 R16) on mostly country roads for 0 spirited miles
bought these tires because they had an excelent price and this size is very expensive compared to other sizes and the tire shop i go to recommended them as very sporty tire but i was dessapointed by the feedback and the handling characteristics although the grip is very very good the way it handles is very spongy and really doesnt like to be pushed on the corners the sidewall folds way to much i have two different tires fitted on the same car previous to these the one the car came from the dealership a yokohama bluearth not sure wich one exactly it was very good tire and then switched to vredestein sportrac 5 fitted them twice in my opinion the best tire i have drove on not the grippiest but the handling and roadfeedback where top notch so in conclusion if you want the rainsport 5 because of its price and you want just a very good and safe tire to drive around sure if you are looking for something like me avoid it and maybe go for something like the falken 320 that i heard so many good words for the only reason i did not go for this myself it was the price

Terrible tire. There is no steering feedback, anything over 60mph you're constantly correcting the steering to keep it in a straight line- i went and had a 4 wheel alignment to check it wasn't out. Tires still terrible.

The grip is also equally bad in wet and dry conditions. My car is breaking traction over taking on dual carridge ways and motorways. Pulling away isnt so bad but still not great.

Removed after 650 miles and taken a loss. Would rather fit acceleras

A quality tire that sits in the mid range bracket although not as cheap as other mid range competitors. Overall a very good tire in most areas but where it excels is in its resistance to aqua planning, it will not lose grip even when faced with large pools of water on a motorway. Would highly recommend as an alternative to some of the pricier brands!
