Goodyear GT-Eco Stage

Came on my Japan import Subaru Legacy 2.5i. At first, I was planning to change them as soon as I’ve got the car. Other plans in the way, and 15000 km down the track, I can definitely say it would have been a big mistake. This tires just perform, an perform well. So well, that today I’ve looked at the profile, and I can’t say if they are different at all compared to when I’ve bought the car. The threadlife is pretty incredible.

Yes, it’s a full time 4x4 car....but still, I wasn’t as happy with the tires on a car since the Goodyear Eagle Asymmetrics 2 on my old Civic.

It’s clear: what’s Made in Japan, for their internal market, even as “chep” Eco stuff, is lightyears ahead of any crap the european manufacturers are putting on the market. It’s almost uncomparable.

I don’t drive fast (NZ roads are limited to 100km/h), but on twisty roads they grip and hold the road excellent. And 100km/h in the rain is a breeze. Total confidence. Could be because of the 4x4, but the tires still do their part brilliantly.
