Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV

Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV features innovative materials and design to increase performance. The tire uses fourth-generation polymers and "smart" technology for improved grip and low rolling resistance on wet surfaces. It has an optimized blend of silica. Its lighter structure, achieved through thinner side walls, lower apex and lighter belt material, reduces energy consumption. The tire also incorporates EV-specific design features such as longitudinal grooves with steeper sides and an asymmetrical shoulder design to improve handling and resist deformation under higher cornering loads.

  • The Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV showed one area of notable strength but was otherwise characterized by significant trade-offs, especially in snow and wet braking. Its best performance was in lateral wet grip, where it achieved an excellent score of 97.8%. This was overshadowed by its struggles in winter conditions, where it posted the group's lowest scores in snow acceleration (84.2%), snow braking (81.6%), and snow handling (89.6%). Furthermore, it recorded the lowest scores for wet braking (83.4%) and aquaplaning resistance (89.4%).

  • The Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV finishes third with an overall grade of 2.8 ("satisfactory"), positioning itself as a comfort-oriented option with some notable limitations. This tire delivers good and safe driving characteristics on both dry and wet surfaces, providing reliable performance in fair weather conditions. It excels in comfort aspects, offering excellent ride quality and operating quietly, which enhances the driving experience. The tire also features low rolling resistance, contributing to energy efficiency for electric vehicles. However, its significant weakness lies in snow and ice performance, where it falls considerably short of the competition. This makes it less suitable for drivers who regularly encounter winter conditions. The Quatrac Pro EV is best suited for drivers in milder climates who prioritize comfort and quiet operation over winter performance, representing a viable option for those who rarely face snowy conditions.

Latest Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV Reviews

Given 90% while driving a Tesla Model 3 LR (235/45 R18) on mostly town for 100 spirited miles
I recently purchased these tires for my Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor Long Range based on reviews of the original Quatrac tire. The EV version should theoretically be better, but time will tell. My previous tires were Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires, which offered excellent grip and handling.

So far, my impressions of the Quatrac Pro EV are positive. They feel slightly softer and more comfortable, with noise levels that seem about the same. These tires don’t have the foam band on the inside like some other models.

I typically drive aggressively with Slip-Start ON to make the car more tail-happy. I wore out the Michelins in just one year, so if these tires also last a year, I’ll be satisfied.

Under hard driving and in rainy conditions, the Vredestein tires slide slightly more, which I find adds to the fun. Braking performance is good both in wet and dry conditions.

I haven’t driven in snow or on ice yet, but I’ll share a follow-up once I have more experience in those conditions.
