Fitment comes from each tire's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

How long do tires last on the Skoda Octavia estate?

Across 13 end of life reviews from Skoda Octavia estate drivers, a typical set of tires was worn out after 25,000 miles. Half of all worn-out sets lasted between 8,000 miles and 30,000 miles.

Distances are self-reported by drivers whose review marked the set as worn out; figures are medians, so a single unusual report cannot move them.

Good tires, but Continetal winter contact 830P was much better in snow.

This is my second review, 8,000 miles covered now with these all season budget tires.
They're generally good within the dry, as are all budget tires that I've ever used. They're a bit suspect during the warmer, wetter summer months. They've lost traction a couple of times on me now, during moderate cornering on damp roads, during the warmer summer months (25c plus).
So for this reason, I won't buy budget all season tires again.
Mid range for me, after this set.

Michelin CrossClimate 2 205-55-17 Skoda Octavia estate 45,000 miles August 14, 2026

Have used the cross climate range of tires for many years, across several family and work cars, the cross climate 2 have been excellent again. Excellent grip in the dry and wet. I don`t recall any stopping / aquaplaning issues. Not a good handling as a summer tire. Very little use in snow, but performed great when needed.

Have just replaced two front tires after 45,000 miles of use, with cross climate 3. I expect to get 50,000 miles from the CC2 rears. To be fair, they haven`t been driven particularly hard, and there was plenty of dual carriageway / motorway driving. Wear rate did seem to increase over the last few months of summer 2026, but not surprising given the temperatures we`ve had.

The Cross Climates may cost a few pounds more than some other all season tires, but given the mileage they get, I think they are hard to beat for value.
I`m expecting good things from the CC3 tires and would be very reluctant to use any other tires now.

excellent tire long lasting not a lot of difference from new to fairly worn from grip point of view but have been caught out once with these tires aquaplaning
on very wet B road going fairly fast.my previs tires where hankook which where good but went terrible when down to 3mm no such thing with good year
i have now had Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 on 2 cars and can highly recommend them also have had Asymmetric 3 and 5 but run car on
Continental AllSeasonContact 2 in winter also excellent but maybe change to Goodyear Vector All Season 4 for new car if it become available when i am ready for new boots.

Well my linglong greenmax all season tires were half the price of a set of Michelins, certainly not half their performance.
They were very good value for money, with good grip levels in all driving conditions, all year round.
For the money (£56 each fully fitted), they were an absolute bargain.
Only issue I could marginally fault them on, is they have a margionally firmer ride, compared to a premium set of all season tires. Considering what I've saved on buying them, only a very small compromise.
They are like night and day for winter use, compared to my previous set of summer continental tires.

Vredestein Quatrac 205-55-16 Skoda Octavia estate 34,000 miles November 23, 2025
I am very satisfied with these tires. After 3.5 years and 55000 km they still hold on strong. Grip is very balanced in all conditions. (The car had Goodyear Vector gen 2 on it when I bought it. They were almost dangerous in wet at 4 years/50000 kms.)
I was planning to replace the Quatracs this autumn, but they still have 6 mm tread left. Thought I'd give them a chance. Now winter is starting and it still has quite decent grip on cold roads. Yestersay it was snowing and there was no drama in the slush. I can feel the weaker wet grip on painted road surfaces. There you can break traction in first gear very easily. So probably this is their last winter and I will replace them next autumn.
Dry rot is minimal, but micro cracks on the tread are visible if you watch closely. Sidewalls still look perfect. I think it is normal at this age.
These tires were very silent when new. Now they have a little noise on highway, but still not bad. Wind and engine noise are still dominating at speed.
Comfort wise they transfer quite a lot of vibration on cobble stones, but I can't compare it to other tires on the same car.
Road feedback is far from a good summer tire but that is expexted. These tires are not made for spirited driving.
I will probably buy the same tires next year if Vredestein does not some out with a new one. They have proven to me that one tire can do it all.

Kumho Ecsta HS52 225-45-17 Skoda octavia estate 4x4 10,000 miles October 29, 2025
I bought these tires to replace a set of Goodyear EfficientGrip 1 that were on the car when I bought it (used). I drove the goodyear tires for about one month before replacing them due to age. The main difference between those tires is the fuel consumption. With the goodyears, I managed to get around 4.8L/100km while on the Kumhos, the car needs 5.2l/100km on the same journey.
Dry grip is excellent, I have not hit the ABS in the dry yet. Also cornering is absolutly fine.
Wet grip is also quite good, although I have hit the ABS a few times and broke the tires loose once when having to merge onto the Autobahn from a standstill. They outperform the (8 year old) Goodyears that were on the car before by quite some margine.
Comfort is fine, although they seem to be a bit louder than the goodyears.
The tires tend to get slightly flatspotted when parking for a few days. This causes a bit of a vibration that goes away after driving for a few kilometers. Neither the goodyears or the wintertires that are on the car now (Vredestein) do that.
The wear on these tires seems to be relativly low. I ran them for 15.000km this summer and they still have 6-6,5mm left. They had a bit more than 7.5mm when new. I expect them to last for another 30-40k km before needing to be replaced due to wear.

As I am working in forestry, I also drive these tires on forest dirt and gravel roads. On there, they are absolutly fine as long as its dry but get very slippery on dirt as soon as it gets wet. On some kinds of gravel, it feels like driving on ice when its wet, however thats more related to the kind of gravel (limestone) and not so much the tire. Every summertire I had so far showed this behavior. This part off the review has not been taken into account when rating the tire.

Excellent on dry and wet, holding road like glued. No aquaplaning. Very satisfied. Silent tire. I would definitely buy them again. Way better than Contis, for a much affordable price.

Goodyear EfficientGrip 225-55-17 Skoda Octavia estate 19,000 miles May 6, 2025
I generally liked these tires. No complaints about grip or handling in wet or dry conditions. However I have just replaced them with a different make of tire due to the number of punctures I’ve suffered in the last few months. I know our roads aren’t great but the EfficientGrips seem to be particularly susceptible, especially in the sidewalls. The latest puncture, which rendered a front type scrap, was caused by a thorn which frankly should not have been able to penetrate a tire! When removed I could easily snap the thorn by hand. I could have again bought a new EfficientGrip but decided against (three of my tires had 4.5mm tread left) and have swapped to a different make.
