Nexen N+Blue+HD+Plus Reviews - Page 4

Given 84% while driving a Fiat Cinquecento ED (145/70 R13) on for 500 miles
I bought these tires after having difficulty in finding a premium make that I wanted in this small size, these are certainly proving to be the next best thing. Very good in the wet, albeit obviously on a low powered car. So far they feel perfectly safe and stable in all conditions. We'll worth considering, at least on small to medium vehicles.

Given 87% while driving a Volvo V40 Estate (195/60 R15 V) on mostly motorways for 15,000 average miles
After reading many review i decided to give them a chance.
Overall al very good summer tire,
I would like to make a special remark about nowaday tires (michelin energy saver plus and goodyear vector 4 seasons gen 2) these 2 types of tires always look like underinflated (sidewalls) even at normal or higher tire pressure. For my car an 2002 Volvo V40 115HP, they gave my car more like a floating feeling (both straights and turns).
I recently drove with a friends VW california 2019 with also the goodyear Vectors 4 seasons gen 2, now it was overwelming, at highway speed the van needed to be corrected all the time... more like sailing than driving.
Its like a contradiction but some confortable tires on some models of cars are the opposite of that.
The nexens hd plus keeps my volvo much more controlable and easy to drive, than the 2 more expensive tires, best tire i had for my car.
Dont trust all the professional reviews, some of them gave these tire very good results in the wet, some gave it dangerous properties in the wet so they coudnt possibly recommend it... Also read a review here from an uncontollable rent car in greece with these nexens, are you sure the steering wasnt damaged after an accident????
Some reviews are very hard to believe, ABS that refuses to lock or unlock them , or locks itself because of these tires? Stil dont get it, haha
Very happy with my first budget tire (44euro/piece). Very good control at highway speeds in Belgium and Germany (at 150kmh) I recommend them and feel safe with them as summer tires (my winter tires are conti wintercontact ts850, also very verry good).
Greetings from Ghent (Be)...

Given 86% while driving a Rover 623 (195/60 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 4,000 average miles
They perform pretty good on dry and wet conditions . The are pretty quiet .I was amused when i saw comments from people that say they are terrible in wet..The sides of the tire are very soft just like the compound. They don't perform well in the hottest noons of the summer or when i heat them up with aggressive driving .

There's a new all season tire, can it be best?!
Given 93% while driving a MINI Countryman Cooper SD (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
Great mid range tire - very grippy in both wet and dry - good road feedback and low road noise . Would definitely recommend and buy again.

Given 77% while driving a Toyota Corolla (195/60 R15) on a combination of roads for 12,000 spirited miles
My tire guy suggested those while I had my mind on Michelin. Very impressed from the mix of price vs. performance. Just great tires

Given 44% while driving a Volkswagen polo 2018 1.0 tsi 115 hp (215/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 7,000 average miles
This is my second review of the tires, at 11000 km, on a new 2018 Polo tsi 115 hp fitted from factory. Overall a poor choice by VW to fit these tires to the car. Dry braking at speed, better not to speed as braking is scary, comfort has been lost although running on the lowest permissible by VW pressure, handling not so good, easily loosing grip, road noise increased considerably. Typical budget tire and nothing more, I was expecting something much better by VW especially as first fitment to a brand new model!.Looking for Michelins ps4 or Conti PC 6 to replace them already.

Given 51% while driving a Kia Motors Picanto (195/45 R16) on mostly country roads for 6,000 spirited miles
Had these on a rental car whilst on holiday in Kefalonia for a week and wasn't even thinking about the quality tires whilst driving in the dry until we had some rain and had to nip to the super market quick then I noticed just how terrible these tires are in wet conditions not only under hard braking but also quick steering in emergency situations.

Tires need to be safe, they should perform in the most dire situations to help you avoid potential danger and on narrow roads, and in Greece that's an unfortunate yet imminent situation you'll find yourself in as the locals like to drive rather spiritedly. With loose road laws and no road markings on mountain passes you need to be on your toes even within speed limits.

I was heading round a bend doing 30mph when the tires slid causing tremendous understeer luckily there were no other road users as I ended up on the other side of the road. luckily for me not off a cliff or into the front of an oncoming coach!!!

This is why I am rating this tire as very dangerous in wet conditions.

After this I conducted an emergency stop to find that even the ABS couldn't stop them from locking up.

Absolutely unacceptable...

Do not recommend to anybody wanting to drive outside city limits. Beware you have been warned.

Given 92% while driving a Peugeot 508 SW 1.6 E HDI (215/60 R16 H) on mostly motorways for 10,000 average miles
Super quiet and safe ride. Outstandig grip (for my driving style, at least - not sporty nor slow) dry and wet. Much more silent than my previous Michelin Energy Saver +. Good price. Good quality. Let´s see how meani Km they last... (probabily not the 75.000km of a regular michelin...)

Given 67% while driving a Volkswagen 2018 highline 115 hp 1.0 lt turbo (215/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 600 average miles
215/45/17 came as standard to my new VW Polo, Highline version with the 115 hp 1.0 lt turbo engine. Disappointed at first as I was expecting Contis or Michelins or some other first class brand but read reviews and somehow my worries eased up. Done about 1000 km so far. Good on wet not so good on dry, the traction control easily engages when starting uphill or even when accelerating fast on even roads. My 1989 Corrado G60 never looses traction on same roads on Michelin Pilot 3 tires, even with all of his 160 hp. All in all Nexen Nblue hd is a decent economy tire, but naturally not up there with the best. You get what you pay for and considering the low cost of the Nexen you get a little more than you pay for but if you are a demanding driver you should look at something pricier and eventually better.
Michelins are my top choice not so because they are generally very good in every aspect but most importantly because throughout their life they hardly loose their characteristics.

Given 85% while driving a Suzuki Splash SZ4 (185/60 R15) on a combination of roads for 600 average miles
Excellent aquaplanning ! Plus, a low noise tire, with top dry grip and breaking ! Wet grip is good ,wet breaking seems average . Feedback is not on par with my previous Michelen Energy Saver + or with Contis . Value for money is excellent. !

Given 63% while driving a Kia Motors Picanto (175/65 R14 R) on a combination of roads for 5,000 average miles
These tires are OEM on my KIA. They are stiff and noisy. I would not buy them.
I would fit Falken which are 4db quieter and softer.
