Having had Vredestein Sessantas on a previous car, and being impressed with them, I thought I'd give the Vorti a try. The car is highly modified, with 600bhp+ at the wheels, but I'm getting less grip from these than I did from the P Zeros which it came from the factory with unfortunately.

A shame, as I really wanted to like them, but they've made the car practically undriveable in the wet and, even on dry roads, it's a challenge. As for the wear, not really done enough miles yet, though I'm not expecting more than 6,000 miles from them.

Goodyear Eagles next I think, on a recommendation.

I run a modded Impreza that's just shy of 450bhp so don't tend to skimp in the tire department!
Having been a huge fan of Vredestein's Ultrac Sessanta I went for a set of Vorti's thinking they had a similar pattern to Continental SportContact 5's which were also a cracking tire.

Unfortunately, there is a problem with these tires, mainly in the wet, and the car feels skittish and has a tendency to run very wide when cornering.
Wet braking is also not great. I had the car slide sideways when cornering (not aggressively) on a corner I've taken at similar speeds on a set of Hankook Evo Ventus's.

I suspect that on the rear alone they'd be okay, but I won't be using these again on the front of my car.

On my second set of these tires and have to say they are one of the best tires I have ever used. I have pushed these tires to the max in all sorts of conditions and they have stood up to the task without any problems at all. I have compared these to mich ps2's, ps3's, Contisport 3's, and p zero's, and given the choice I'd have the vorti's over all of them. I have these on a180 bhp audi a4 tdi and would recommend them to any enthusiastic driver. Excellent quality, excellent performance, and excellent value for money.

The Vortis surprised me by how much of an improvement they were over the Sessantas. They have better wet grip, are more quiet and I can 'lean' on them a lot more. Fabulous tire that I will buy again next month after 40000 miles and 2 years of spirited driving. Of course it helps that they are on an A5 3.0 TDI Quattro Sport which pushes power to the axle and wheel with traction so there is much less spinning up the wheels. The tread depths are currently 3 and 3.5 mm all round. Absolutely brilliant! Thanks Vredestein!

My second set of Vredestein, although my first set were Sessanta's which were fantastic but poor in the snow / ice. Yes I know they area a summer tire but be honest how many of us Brits swap to winter tires?

Anyway, I wasn't too sure about swapping to the Vorti's however I am equally impressed with them - they are brilliant, I really push them as the Jag is a big heavy car 1.8 tons so using these tires on the car really tests them. I have to say the car drives like its on rails. Its very very hard to get the back end to lose traction even when pushed in the wet.

I don't think I will ever buy another make of tire again.

Don't hesitate to buy these they are sheer class!!!

Forgot to mention I have had around 27,000 miles out of a set of Sessanta's so I'm pretty much expecting the same out of these.

Replaced Vredestein Sessantas (fronts lasted 20000 miles) with these so I can compare them. Both are XL versions. Definitely softer sidewalls compared to Sessantas, not very much but noticeable. That caused to increased comfort a bit but of course costed some feedback. You can feel this while cornering, Sessantas were rock hard and it was like driving on rails. The great pros of Vortis is road noise, Sessantas were making terribly noisy, now finally it really quiet inside. Wear also seems to be much better. If you are fine with loosing only a bit of steering for less road noise and better wear you should go for Vortis. I would, thats why I m about to buy them for my new car now.

Very pleased with these tires. They always felt secure, especially in poor conditions. I got good economy and they lasted well (about 25% better than the OE Continentals that my Skoda Superb arrived on). They deserve the good reviews. They are a bit noisier than the Contis and my new Michelins however.
But I haven't replaced like with like. Why? I live in North Essex and the nearest place that sells Vedrestein tires is 50 miles away. My local tire places aren't interested. I just got back from the West Country and drove 300 miles on a spacesaver because I couldn't get a replacement tire easily before the journey back. Why are such good tires as Vedrestein so difficult to source? It's been a dealbreaker for me unfortunately.

Simply the best tire you can find! The value for money is outstanding. I expected a lot from this tire when I saw Guigiaro have made the design. All my expectations became reality, I hope Vredestein will never stop production of this tire.

Very Good Tires

I have done 40,000 miles on One set of Vortis in the last 2 years on an Audi A5! With spirited driving! I cannot begin to thank Vredestein for making this tire. They still have more than nearly 4 mm available and are still quiet and grippy. Until a super tire is provided to the market these will be my tires of choice. IMHO there is no better value on the market today.
