Across 29 summer tests, the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti delivers consistently strong dry performance with frequent top results in dry handling and competitive dry braking, often rivalling premium benchmarks. Wet performance is generally mid-pack with occasional highlights in wet handling, but wet braking can lag the best by around 8-14%. Efficiency is a clear weakness, as rolling resistance is frequently among the worst. Comfort/noise results vary from very good to mediocre depending on size/test.

Overall, the tire fits a sport-focused profile: sharp on dry circuits with stable balance, acceptable but not class-leading in the wet, and penalised by higher rolling resistance. The Ultra Vorti is a decent tire that showed well in the aquaplaning tests and set a good lap time on the dry circuit too. It was at or near the bottom of the table in many tests, though, and subjectively was noisy and lacked the connection of the best. It’s worth noting that an updated version is due in the new year.

The new Vorti is the dry handling master with the fastest lap time, and a sharp sporty feel and good balance. Unfortunately Vredestein seem to have traded dry performance for wet, as the tire lacked overall balance on the wet circuit, finishing seventh. More worryingly the new Vorti could only manage ninth in the wet braking test, needing an average of seven meters longer to stop than the test winning Conti. Poor rolling resistance scores for a new tire and only mid table noise figures leaves the Vorty in eighth position overall.

Fastest tire in the dry with good steering precision but the wet performance keeps the Vorti out of the top group as it drops a few points in aquaplaning and braking.
