Fitment comes from each tire's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

How long do tires last on the BMW 520d M Sport?

Across 22 end of life reviews from BMW 520d M Sport drivers, a typical set of tires was worn out after 18,000 miles. Half of all worn-out sets lasted between 14,000 miles and 24,000 miles.

Kumho Ecsta Sport PS72 245-45-18 BMW 520d M Sport 2,000 miles September 24, 2026

In the K-SILENT variant, it is a very quiet and comfortable tire. It offers superb stability and precision at high highway speeds. Surprisingly great value for a very fair price. Highly recommended.

Bmw G30.....After GY asymetric5..which is a very good tire, I like Kumho more..it has stiffer sidewalls..the tire is very stable..it holds the direction perfectly at speeds over 100+mph...on winding parts of the highway...EVERY BUYING RECOMMENDATION...my version is K-silent..so it is quiet...I haven't driven it in the wet yet so I will update later

Continental AllSeasonContact 2 245-45-18 BMW 520d M Sport 5,000 miles March 21, 2026
I am coming from Hankook Kinergy 4S2. These were excellent all season tires.
I changed to Continental AllSeason Contact 2.
Compared to the Hankook, the Continentals offer similar grip in dry and wet, though braking is noticeably worse.
However, where the Continentals suck is feel and input lag.
The continentals are absolutely not enjoyable to drive.
When you turn the steering wheel, you need to wait ages for the tires to react. I am absolutely stunned that Continental could create such a tire. On a few occasions I swerved left and right quickly in succession - the car feels like its on pudding, and the feeling is absolute crap.
I do not recommend these types - I have had many all season tires in the past and none behaved like this.

Hankook Winter i cept evo3 245-45-18 BMW 520d M Sport November 4, 2025
I've had these tires for a couple of winters. I haven't driven them in the snow yet because there's no snow (yet) and that's why I bought them in the first place. I read in the tests published here that they are great in winter conditions. I only have rear-wheel drive on my car and I want tires that are good in the snow.
They are great in the wet as well as in the dry...maybe they are a little noisier..but I'm used to winter tires "buzzing" a bit.
p.s.
I'll update the review when I try them on snow and ice.

Yokohama Advan Sport V105 245-45-18 BMW 520D M Sport Touring September 10, 2025
Only tires I've had on the car so not able to compare against others. These tires have been very good I've been impressed first time experiencing Yokohama. They have been good in dry, wet, hot and cold. Only complaint was in snow, they were terrible, in fact my worst snow driving experience ever. I believe it was the tires not not car for reason performed so poorly in snow.

Pirelli P Zero PZ5 255-35-19 BMW 520D M Sport Touring June 4, 2025
I replaced my Continental Sportcontact 7 with Pirelli P Zero PZ5s. The Continentals were very good in the dry and wet, the Pirellis are better.
I've had Goodyear Asymmetric 6, Michelin Pilot Sport 4, Falken Azenis 520.
But the Pirellis are very, very good.

Nexen N Fera SU1 275-35-19 BMW 520D M Sport Touring 30 miles May 24, 2025
Fitted to my 520d MHT touring at 24,426 to replace the OEM which had failed an MOT. I have covered a further 30,000 and replaced with with Nexen. See below is a photo of the tire removed. Fitter said could have done more miles!. Ride and handling better than RFT and comfort too. Wear is very uniform and no punctures or bulges. I do check them weekly and keep the recommended pressure correct.

Nexen N Fera SU1 275-35-19- BMW 520D M Sport Touring 24,000 miles January 30, 2025
Bought the car second hand from a non franchise dealer who fitted x4 non run flat tires as a requirement of the sale. I had not come across Nexen previously but after 25000 trouble free miles I have been pleased with their overall performance. When compared to the OEM tires fitted to my previous 520d I found the ride to be more comfortable and no loss of wet/dry grip or fuel economy. The rears are due for a change so I will look at Nexen brand again.

Michelin Primacy HP Zero Pressure 245-40-19- BMW 520d M Sport 35,000 miles September 1, 2024
These tires were used in my 2016 BMW 520d M Sport (Front Run Flt Tires). The perfect tires I had so far. Far better than the Dunlop Sport Maxx Run flats. I have changed front tires 2 time to Dunlops before and they used to wearer out between 10-15k miles and the drive wasn’t great either. Now this Michelin Primacy HP Zero Pressure lasted over 35k over last 5 years and unfortunately, I had to change them now at about 3mm as the inner side of the front passenger side was worn out due to incorrect tracking of the wheels.
The road feedback, dry grip, wet grip and comfort was very good in these tires. I was able to relay on the tires massively when doing faster speeds on the wet conditions.
These tires are no longer available to buy anywhere and moved to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 to match with my rears (which has done a similar 30k+ milage). So far, the Goodyers have been bit lighter on the handling to my liking compared to Primacy HP.

Good tire - gone too soon though.
Purchased in January 23 for my BMW 520d. Car is used for commuting, never really driven hard as its not quick, but found they wore out fairly quickly after doing around 10,000 miles.
I did suspect this when I took delivery and saw the treadwear rating. I'm sure the trade-off would be better on a car driven more spiritedly, but for the daily commute, I think I will be looking for an alternative.
