Passenger Car Summer Trackday and Competition Tires Tire Review Highlights
Bought these in staggered fitment back in 2022. 215/40/17 and 245/40/17. Tires fit the car well in terms of my driving style. There are quiet when cruising and acceptable in terms in comfort (Sidewall is very stiff). When pushing the car it provides a lot of grip for street use and when nearing the limit the tires screeches hard making it easy to predict the limit of the rubber. They are the best looking tire out there in my opinion. Tires still have loads of tread left and can't notice degrading in performance. It seems the tires sizes I have are not for sale anymore, only 6 sizes now. Real shame since there is not a good alternative tire for these. They sit perfectly in between the usual UHP tires and Trackday tires and is a jack of many trades in that plus the looks of it.

When i bought my Kia Stinger GT it had the factory mounted Michelin Pilot sport tires on it. Thise where ok. But i wanted somthing more grippy and less expensive. I had the Nitto nt888 before on my well tuned Opel Adam Rocks S. So i searched for a adequate Nitto tire for the extremely heavy Stinger. In Switzerland it is very hard to find Nittos. The only one i found in my desired dimensions wherer the NT555 g2's front 235/35R19 rear 265/30R19. I think, with Nittos you can't do anything wrong. They are better than the Michelins when cold. Up to temp, way better. I drive often in the black forest and the swiss alps. And I don't drive slow. Those tires are incredible.

Been using them for about 17,000 miles, really stiff sidewall which makes even the tiniest of bumps noticeable, and this is coming from someone who doesn't care about NVH.
They seem to be wearing fine, did one trackday on them and a lot of hard driving, not noisy at all too.
in terms of grip, fantastic in the dry but they NEED weight on them, I have them on an ND miata and if you're being lazy the front can easily wash out, but applying good driving techniques and warming them up first (and performing the break-in procedure) and it'll work great. Wet grip is abysmal.
overall fantastic tire but unfortunately I left the car parked for a week and now they're out of round, this won't be an issue if you only use them as a track tire and store them properly.

I didn't do many miles on them yet, but i did run them thoroughly on the track. These tires can compete with Cup 2's no problem, i i'd even say they're better. Fantastic tires, great feedback when approaching the limit, great grip and excellent heat resistance.

I almost sent these back after i ordered them because of the reviews on this page.
I am glad i didn't.
Most people compare these with specially built track tires. But they are not track tires !
They can handle some abuse or maybe practice sessions but track is not their main purpose.
For spirited driving these tires are awesome!
Very good grip, very predictable. Neutral behavior on my perfectly set from factory FWD Honda Prelude. Don't need warming up in normal or hot temperatures. Unlike semi slicks they are just ready to go . I don't care about lap times anyway because i was choosing these for having fun on mountain roads , driving at 70 % of car's limit.
In another league compared with used Turanza and other summer tires i had before.
Also they are known for good wear compared to most tires of this type.
For street use and spirited driving these tires are all i need. Also cheap for UHP tires.
I hope i will test them on track this year against my Re71Rs . I don't expect miracles but i am sure they will be better than most summer tires available. I will write another review if there is the case.

After going through a set of Bridgestone RE-71RS, I had to go back to Yokohama A052 as I couldn't source a set of the former. The A052 are a fantastic track tire. Amazing grip and consistency through multiple heat cycles. For a novice track warrior, these are all the tire you'll need. I do prefer the Bridgestone though. I find it suits my driving style better and the stiffer sidewalls give me more feedback longer into a session whereas I find the Yokos get a bit spongy for me after about 4 hot laps. Both tires are street legal in Australia, and both are great in the dry. The Yokohama is slightly more noisy in my car than the Bridgestones, but they are both very noisy. I find the Yokohamas slightly more comfortable on the street as well. The Yokohama is NOT good in heavy rain and standing water though. I really struggle with it whereas the Bridgestone provides way more confidence in standing water. For track days, the Yokohamas are perfect, but I would not daily them again.

These tires are specifically for my autocross/track car. My first impression was that they were instantly on, very compliant regarding the weather (40-95f). They perform amazingly in all facets. I would drive hundreds of miles to and from my events ON THEM, and I put on thousands of miles on top of the laps I was doing. They performed excellently. I didn't even realize they had gotten worse until one cold lap I ended up looping my vehicle. Turns out I had 1/32nd of tread left, but it gave it all up until then. I liked them so much I got them again for this season. Will swap them out half way for either the RE71RZ or the A052.

Great tires that are surprisingly good in the wet for their class. Grip is unmatched compared to other street focused 200TW

Unfortunately had these tires blow up hitting a pot hole prematurely but I had a good experience with them

For a more street-oriented 200 TW tire, the amount of dry grip is outstanding. Steering response is amazing as well. Feedback isn't great, but it has some

My car came with these original fit in N rated Porsche spec. I've since had Michelin Cup 2 and PS4 on teh car, but keep trying to find the Race 2 as it is definitely as good as or better than teh Cup 2, but has better wear and high temperature stability. It would appear however that after 2018 Dunlop stopped making this tire in any comemrcial quantity making it pretty much impossible to find at least in Australia, or UK in Porsche sizes.

I use these as essentially a rally tarmac tires for street use. Trundling around traffic they are extremely well behaved for a semi-slick, hardly any tread noise even half worn and surprisingly comfortable, not worse than an UUHP sports tire.

When there is no traffic and free view, I love them for their amazing grip and even more amazing feedback on the limit which is just a delight. Beats the OE P Zero, V107 and AD09 I've had on the car with no comparison. Just so progressive dry or wet. And effectively quiet, no 'someone is having an accident' tire squeal firmly on the limit.

That grip comes in immediately and, against prejudice, is also there in the wet and when cold with just a few turns even near freezing.
When not used on track, heat related excessive wear hasn't been an issue, although I haven't yet used them above 20°C, will go to 285 width for that.

Downsides:
- The tread pattern and depth isn't made to counteract aquaplaning, these are not tires for the unaware, only for seasoned experienced drivers that know what they have under the car intimately. Once aquaplaning comes in the breakaway from high grip levels isn't forgiving.
- While wear isn't catastrophic even on my heavy car when not tracking, they will barely last 10"000km driven enthusiastically and only because I rotate them and run appropriate extra neg camber. Hoping 285 width will last a tad longer next. This is essentially a competition tire that only last one street summer season for me tops, if not from wear, probably from heat cycles. As such a very expensive tire, but for a driver enthusiast, tires are just as important as the car itself....
