Previous Dunlop Tires Trackday and Competition Summer

In developing the new Sport Maxx Race 2 Dunlop was able to draw on its experience in Motorsport GT3 and endurance races in which Dunlop has had more wins at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring and Le Mans than any other tire manufacturer. The key for the ultimate lap time is grip and steering precision. An optimized tire contour allows the Sport Maxx Race 2 a uniform pressure distribution in the footprint. This enables precise feedback when cornering and thus a high steering precision.

Inspired by reinforcing structures from nature, the Sport Maxx Race has 2 connecting webs between the outer profile series. Thus, the stability of the tire is increased. This so-called "Lightweight Reinforcement Structure Design" enabled the tire developers to use less rubber and to construct a stable and at the same time light weight tire.

Top tire! as good as the Michelin cup 2, but with more km and more resistant on the circuit, Be careful when cold it requires more warm-up time! than Michelin it is also their advantage of less rapid wear for Dunlop.

Given 91% while driving a Porsche 1993 928 GTS (295/30 R20) on mostly country roads for 2,500 spirited miles
The N version that came standard with my GT4 RS is on par with the best in dry conditions but I was surprised with the wet grip, better than the Cup 2s I had in my previous GT4. Seems to last longer as well.

Porsche 991.1 GT3 RS (325/30 R21) on track for 1,000 spirited miles
Early review. I actually think that I like these better than the MPCS2. I'm surprised cos I thought that it would be a 50/50 split. The Dunnies definitely seem grippier in the dry and therefore inspire more confidence to brake very late and dive bomb those corners. The dry grip is superb. If they last as long as the Michies or even almost as long and have acceptable wet grip then I am a new convert. I really don't care about comfort !

Initial Impressions Review
Given 89% while driving a Porsche Porsche 991.2 911 GT3 (305/30 R20) on for 6,000 miles
My car came with these original fit in N rated Porsche spec. I've since had Michelin Cup 2 and PS4 on teh car, but keep trying to find the Race 2 as it is definitely as good as or better than teh Cup 2, but has better wear and high temperature stability. It would appear however that after 2018 Dunlop stopped making this tire in any comemrcial quantity making it pretty much impossible to find at least in Australia, or UK in Porsche sizes.

Initial Impressions Review
Given 98% while driving a Porsche GT4 RS (295/30 R20) on for 3,200 miles
Very good at road legal speed and once warm very precise, level noise acceptable. On track days the Dunlop last longer that Michelind PS 2 with similar performance if not better taking in consideration precision and breake feeling, lap over lap performance remain constanly extremely good. I will buy Maxx Race 2 again and again.
