Best Tires for the SEAT Leon FR 2.0 TFSI

It has been the second set of Asymmetric6 that I have been using and I think there will even be a 3rd one, as I am about to change tires soon. The first set (225/45/17) was on my previous car, a Leon 2.0 FR (1P, 200HP) and the second one (225/40/18) on my current Ibiza 1.5 FR (180HP with program).
Regarding comfort, both cars have a rather tight suspension, so any difference with other tires is little, but they are surely better than some Pirelli Zero Rosso that the Leon had come with and rather slightly better than the previous model (Asymmetric3) I had put on after the Pirellis.
Wear: I have always changed tires at around 3 years or 35000km. With the F1Asym6 I feel I am "cheating" myself in that I could probably give myself at least another 6 months and at least another 5000km.
After an initial "acquaintance" period, when one is getting used to the tires, the outcome will always feel better. I am not a race driver so it took me a while to find out that the tires outperformed my expectations and my limits.
Grip on tight corners is very reassuring while staying on the throttle, and even unexpected lifting the foot off or braking in the corner does not easily bring imbalance to the car. The tires offer excellent grip also on wide bends, on both dry and wet and may even make you want to accelerate in the bend.
The 17 inch set were really very progressive and you could tell when the car was about to skid and it was a joy to control and play with the car. The 18 inch is still quite progressive but maybe slightly less. But as the road holding margins feel wider it may take a little more focus on doing the same.
In wet braking, the ABS will rarely interfere, unless it is a first rain after a long dry (and there is a lot of road dirt gathered).
Certainly a must check out tire before any purchase.

These tires were already fitted when I bought my car and are brand new (front axle). They are perfectly adequate and can easily handle the 190hp of my Seat Leon. Traction is good, as is handling, and comfort seems to be quite good too. These are a sporty tire, and the car does feel quite agile and well connected to the road. The sidewalls even look pretty good I think. I can reccomend these, especially at their low price point, but will likely go with a more premium offering when the time comes to replace them.

I bought Primacy 4 just after when i bought my Seat which had Potenza tires. They was horrible and Michelin at that time (4 years ago) was still better. However after 4 years and 40 000 km later i can say that Primacy 4 are at most average. Ok, hadling is good or even very good, but comfort is totally crap. Tires are loudly basicly since 40km/h and trasfer vibration from road to car. I could live with that but the worst is loudnes of those tires. I swap front with rear tires side by side - nothing help. I know that Seat is loud car but my freind has same rims in his Seat and have Goodyear and it's much more quiet. Today even i went to tire shop to check whats going on and specialist suspects many things but probably i will change tires for Bridgestone or Goodyear. i realize that profil 40 is not the most comfortable but come one.

I honestly don't recomend. Gum is to hard for comfortable riding in Seat Leon and with time getting louder.

very good tire in wet and dry road!! Previous dunlop sport maxx rt 2 is very poor in feedback, this tire is Fastanstic in road feedback. Low noisy, good confort, good wear....only fuel saving is poor

These tires were on the back of my Seat Leon FR TFSI when I bought it and after 2500 mainly wet miles they are very good. Dry grip and wet grip is excellent with plenty of feedback. When pushed hard they start to drift slightly but it is progressive with plenty of feel as to what the tire is doing. In fairness I've not pushed them too far in the wet as the Kumho Ecsta XTs on the front offer very little grip, but they feel fine especially in comparison.
Road noise is acceptable, they drive well and don't tend to follow changes in road surface and the only real criticism would be their tendency to squirm under heavy braking.
Tires had about 6mm tread when I got the car and they only seem to have used about 1mm in 2500 miles, will probably put them on the front when the front XTs wear out and buy a new set for the rear.

These tires were on the front of my Seat Leon FR TFSI when I bought it and after 2500 miles mainly in the wet I'm looking forward to changing them. Not a bad tire in the dry but do scrabble for grip under hard acceleration and cornering. In the wet the tires lose grip far too easily and fail to inspire any real confidence especially when cornering even on just damp roads.
On the plus side road noise is minimal, they drive well, don't suffer badly from changes in road surface and at least when they start to lose grip it is progressive.
The wear seems average for the use and is probably made worse by the lack of grip.

Fitted all 4 on a SEAT LEON FR (200hp) a year ago. At first i was rather cautious as it wat my 1st time with goodyears ever. Progressively i started pushing the tires even more and more and they've proved to be far better than conti sport contact 3 and p zero nero's and michelin pilot sport 3 i had before. Braking, cornering turn in, they are great on the dry and equally on the wet but they always need some warmup. I recommend them and i would put them on again.

Horrible wheelspin and wheel bounce pulling out of junctions and even accelerating in 2nd gear. Very poor in the wet. Wet cornering is dreadful, you can feel the tires start to slide on roundabouts at relatively low speeds

Would definitely not recommend. I'm replacing the fronts with Goodyear Eagle F1 well before they are worn out.
