Best Tires for the Renault Megane IV estate

This is one of the worst tires this brand has ever produced.
I'm hesitant to choose this brand for new tires.

Bought these tires as a replacement for the factory fitted Continental Eco Contact 6, which were awfull in almost every way. I have to say the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 really improved the car, and as opposed to the Contis, they really feel like premium tires. Dry handling is much more precise, better feedback, not so much understeer and faster steering response, and in the wet the difference is enormous, the car feels extremely safe. Braking in both dry and wet is a big improvement, they make you feel safe all the time, aquaplaning resistance much better. Comfort was ok with the Contis, but with the Goodyear, the ride became smoother and a bit quieter. Rolling resistance seems to be ok too, the fuel consumption seems to be the same as with the Conti Eco tires.

They are everything I expected from this kind of touring tires. Not exactly sporty, but really confortable and safe excellent for a family estate that we use for long journeys. I definitely reccomend them, well balanced tires that don't seem to have any real weaknesses.

The only small fault I can find is the lack of rim protection in this size, maybe they come with rim protection on other sizes.

I hope wear is as good as the reviews say, I was dissapointed by the Contis, as the fronts were done after two seasons.

I mostly use the car for long jouneys, so I was looking for a winter tire that provides safety not only on snow and ice, but also on dry and damp roads. Snow became a rare appearance in the last years, so dry and wet performance is really important in winter tires. I have to say the reviews I read here helped my decision, and also I found the Vredestein tires at a really good price. They have an amazing amount of grip on snowy and icy roads, they really inspire confidence. On the dry they feel better compared to my factory fitted Continental Eco Contact 6 summer tires. Maybe on wet roads things could be better, but still it's a safe tire. Wear seems to be extremely good, this is my 3rd winter, approximately 30.000 kms and they still have a lot of tread. So very good value for money, I definitely reccomend the Wintrac Pro.

These tires were fitted from factory on my Megane. They do not excel in any category, the steering feels numb, dry grip is let's say average, wet grip is weak, noise level not great either. Honestly, my winter tires, Vredestein Wintrac Pro feel safer in the dry and wet compared to the Conti Eco Contact 6. Despite the low amount of grip, wear is high, after 3 seasons they need replacing. I really can't find any strong points for these tires. Maybe rolling resistance, allthough I don't see differences in fuel consumption compared to the winter tires. Would not recommand these tires. They are priced as premium tires, but they really feel more like budget tires to me. Maybe they would do ok on a small car that only drives around town.

Very good tire in both and dry road whit great grip and very good road feedback. Reacts very well to steering wheel movement, even on fast movement(for exemple to avoid obstacle). Confort is also very good whit low noise on the road. The wear I think whould good to, but the tires are almost new now, so I will see in the future. I will buy again and whit good price I highly recomend this tire.
