I replaced the Bridgestone Turanza T005 tires with these in 2020 and used them for five summers, covering 42,000 km. These tires are significantly better than the Bridgestones. They wear much more slowly, are far quieter, absorb road imperfections better, and offer superior resistance to aquaplaning.
With the Bridgestones, I could feel every tiny bump in the road, as if I could tell what was written on a coin I drove over, whereas the Goodyears smooth out road imperfections very well. The Bridgestones were quite loud, which made them especially annoying on the highway, while these are genuinely quiet.
With the Turanzas, even shallow water crossing the road was very noticeable; it would noticeably slow the car down, and once it even caused the cruise control to disengage. These, on the other hand, pass through such patches of water smoothly without affecting the car’s motion.
Because the Goodyears are so comfortable, you might think they’re not suited for more spirited driving, but the moment you start pushing them, it becomes clear that they offer excellent grip and feel very safe.
The only area where the Bridgestones were slightly better was fuel consumption: with the Goodyears, consumption increased by about 0.1 liters per 100 km.
What’s truly impressive (almost unbelievable!) is that after five summers and 42,000 km (often driven dynamically), the tires still looked nearly new, with a tread depth of 6.2 (!) mm.
Over nearly 25 years of driving, I’ve used summer tires from Continental, Michelin, Pirelli, Fulda, Vredestein, and Bridgestone, but these outperform all of them by far. These have been the best summer tires I’ve ever owned.
As a side note, before the Bridgestones I had the predecessor to these Goodyears, the EfficientGrip Performance. It wasn’t bad, but it’s nowhere near the EfficientGrip Performance 2.
Excellent grip/durability ratio. It's a shame the sidewalls are so soft, which causes skidding and imprecision in steering. I recommend inflating the tire well above the car manufacturer's recommended pressure (+0.6 bar) to alleviate this problem (but if you go overboard, you noticeably lose grip and the tire wears prematurely in the center). What good is grip if you can't exploit it because the car feels like a flannel? In wet conditions, since the brakes aren't as strong, this problem isn't as noticeable (common with many new tires, by the way).
The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx RT2 is a good tire with decent grip on acceleration and braking with minimal slip, during harsh cornering the tire have a slight delay in response when fast steering input is added. This is mainly due to the limit of the tire's grip and the slight softer side wall compare to higher-end UUHP tires. After a few track days and running them on a few AutoSolo events, the tire has worn moderately mainly on the shoulders of the groove and partially on side wall but if I were to eliminate this tire completely off competition use, it would be the tire I would definitely buy again. Overall everyday driving it is a comfortable tire with barely any noise at low speeds and on motorway thanks to its softer side wall compare to a track tire and good rolling resistance. For the price of the tire, its definitely worth the performance and especially safety.
Great tires in the dry. Noticable noise reduction and more comfortable than budget tires. Some unsettled behavior in the wet during cornering but much improved over the sumitomo tires that were fitted when I bought the car.
The car skids on roundabouts on dry and unpredictable handling. Doesn't perform well in snow condition either. Not recommend to anyone
First joy, then sorrow. I read a lot about tire tests and according to what I read, Continental brand products are always among the best winter tires. That’s why I chose the TS860 in 2017. Safety comes first. I am willing to buy an expensive tire, but my expectations are also high. The tires were manufactured in September 2017 and fitted to my car in November. I live in Austria, where there is usually a lot of snow in the mountains. My first experiences were extremely good. The tires had outstanding aquaplaning resistance. Very, very good handling in snow. It was safe to drive at 80 km/h in snowfall with 15 centimeters of snow on the road. The tires had very good cornering properties on wet and dry roads. A good grip made you feel really safe. Although there was no traction on pure ice, but on ice other tires don’t have traction either. The tires were very quiet and comfortable. I was really extremely happy with the TS860... for the first 2 winters. During the 3rd winter, my experience began to change. It wasn’t a problem on dry roads, but it was in snow. Although the tread depth of the tires was still 6 millimeters, snowy grip, cornering, traction, and most of all braking deteriorated a lot. There was a situation where I thought the car would never stop. At the end of the winter, the tires were 2.5 years old and were marked "cracked" on the roadworthiness test. It was like they were old tires. The legal requirement is a minimum pattern depth of 4 mm. Because it was still 5mm, I also fitted them to my car last November. The grip in snow had gotten even worse, but what’s worse was that the braking distance had grown extremely long on wet roads. On a wet road, you would barely press the brake, the ABS would already be working yet the car would barely slow down. Now it is dangerous to drive with this 4-year-old tire in rain and snow. I think any new budget winter tire is better than this 4 years old premium tire. It’s true that Continental makes great winter tires when we look at new tires. But people don’t buy new tires every 1-2 years. I have never had a tire that has aged so quickly. I drove about 40,000 kilometers (25,000 miles) with these. I recommend these tires only to those who buys a new ones every 2 years.
Positive: Amazingly good grip on dry and wet roads. It is extremely safe to drive a car with these tires. The car’s fuel consumption is really very low with Turazna T005.
Negative: I think it wears out relatively quickly. I was able to drive roughly 45,000 km (28,000 miles) with these. The grip is very temperature dependent. Excellent in warm and hot. Not bad in cool weather either. Around 8 degrees Celsius, it no longer feels safe. I use winter tires in winter, but it can be relatively cold in both fall and spring. I’ve never had a summer tire that has lost so much from gripping because of the temperature. The tire is very loud, which ruins comfort. In terms of safety, I am not satisfied with aquaplaning resistance alone. That could be better.
I would only buy it again if the sound insulation of my car would be much better. I'm switching to Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 now.
New silica and new model tire. I have bought them a few days ago.

Great tyers, they are slatted for fast wearing???? mine have lasted 22000 miles on the front!! good price, better than averge grip, road nose a little worse than others but bearable. bought same tyers for the rear at the same time (22000 miles ago) still have abvout 75% life left in them
These tires came as OE fitment to the car; My 2012 Hyundai i30 1.6 CRDi Elite came with Hankook Ventus Prime 2 K115 205/55 R16 91 H tires (EAN: 8808563330099). Its factory default values are Class E for fuel efficiency and Class A for wet grip and 69 dB external rolling noise according to official company website. I had almost 80.000 kms (ie. 50.000 miles) with the very same tires. The wear is extremely low, I had been told that I could use them for another 15.000 kms (~9.000 miles) due to authorized service. Of course the wear is closely related to driving style and the road conditions. But, I could assure you the tires even stand for the harsh road conditions in Turkey and my aggressive driving style with lots of immediate brakes and fast pace changes. Anyway, I am far from glad about the wear condition of this tire comparing it to the ones I used so far. However, on the contrary; the comfort, the road feedback and the overall feeling of the tires are far from average, making it one of the worst I could ever experience. They are noisy, cannot respond well on almost all surfaces except dry and paved roads. They are especially useless on wet grip and winter conditions where any amount of snow cause serious trouble. I will not prefer to buy these tires although they are cheap and endurable. I will definitely opt for buying a more secure and comfortable one rather than this. But this one is still an economical choice for those using it mainly on paved roads and dry conditions.
