Volkswagen Golf MK7 R 300 BHP Tire Review Highlights
Been using these on a 2020 Golf R and I really enjoy them dynamically. I haven't used them long enough to see any negative wear, but they seem to be lasting well for me.
The comfort is the killer for me. I don't mind the firmer ride, but the NOISE! It it quire remarkable just how much road noise these produce.
I'm leaning towards the Sport Contact 7 or the Asymmetric 6 as we cant get the Pirelli PZero PZ5 in New Zealand yet.

Don’t buy, I’ve only had the tires 18 months and they’re covered in cracks and causing the tire to deflate. Tires are only 2 years from manufacture.

3 year old from manufacture and lots of cracking resulting in the tires deflating. DO NOT BUY!

These tires are very competent in all aspects. However, the very soft sidewall makes the rear feel super squishy on my Golf R. It's the only reason I will probably not replace them again. I have had two sets on this car so far.

Wet and dry weather grip is excellent however the grip level has an effect on longevity of the tire but in reality the tires do have a good lifespan with a progressive driving style. Side walls are quite hard and as such the ride can be stiff, the road noise may possibly be considered high but overall I think these tires have worked excellent over their lifespan and I would have no hesitation in recommending them and I have refitted the same type and design again. Great tire.

Coming from a set of touring tires fitted by the previous owner, I immediately noticed how much better they felt on the road. Road feedback and grip was greatly improved. Potholes can be a bit crashy (35 profile on 19inch wheels), but I've found that dropping the tire pressure (1-2 psi) can help. However these do provide a quiet ride on most road surfaces and are relatively inexpensive down here in Australia.

I've bought the new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 for my Golf R as I previously had the Pilot Sport 4 tires. What a fantastic difference these new tire are. Theres far less noise, the grip in the wet is better and the dry grip is almost the same if not better as well. I would definitely be buying these again.
