Renault Clio 182 cup Tire Review Highlights

Driving on track for 250 spirited miles
Bought the extra 100tw tires for hillclimbs and sprints, they had good grip but was a little unpredictable on the limit, a little grippier than the Michelin ps3 tires I was using before but not any real difference in the times from being a 1b list tire. It’s a good tire for the price of them, there are better but then again at twice the price.

I used this tire as a wet option at Silverstone in the 6 hour Birkett Relay on a clio 182 race car. Having ended up running it in both dry and wet conditions during the race, I thought I'd give my opinion. In the dry I found the tire just lacked grip all round and easily overheated when pushed hard. On the clio the balance was severe understeer, which was a surprise as ut is setup to oversteer. This made it impossible to carry good speed especially through the higher speed corners. Braking was acceptable. In the wet they were much better and the wetter it got, the better they performed, with the balance of the car moving from understeer to very nicely balanced. They gave alot of lateral grip and had good progressive brake away on the limit. Wet braking was fantastic and was the best feature of this tire in my opinion. It allowed me to really push hard and late in the brakes. I'd recommend this tire for someone on a budget wanting a good all round road tire. However, if your looking for a sporty, dry weather performance tire, especially for track use I'd sgeer clear.

Driving on a combination of roads for 3100 average miles
Tires are actualy good. First i ordered Contis TS860, but they were not in stock, so i gave Vredestein a try. My car is a bit sporty, so a good winter tire is very crucial. I made about 3000 miles with them so here are my + and - for this tire.
+ very good grip in snow (it handles perfectly, driving in about 10-15cm of snow is easy peasy for those)
+ very cheap to buy (i bought them for abot 70euros a piece- which is a real bargain (ContisTS860 were about 25euros more per piece)
+ wet handling is average, not the best, but it doesent leaves you between cornering with high speed on wet road... i didnt expect that the "tree" profile gives such a good grip.

- for me the biggest suprise was how loud this tire is... i have a loud exhaust system, but contact with different types of roads (even after not so many miles driven) let you know that this tire is not the silent one. even on the motorway tire gives you those sounds and vibrations.
- let me say, comfort could be better, it clearly "eats" all bumps on the road but the filling when driven is quite average... yes i know i have very low car, and yes i know i have sporty springs but still...i expected more.
- and finally dry grip... for easy drive tire gives you confidence in corners...but sometimes you have to corner hard, and there are clearly some huge problems with those on. They are too soft on the edges, so that doesent allow you sporty driving...
So, if i could say only few words about this tire... CHEAP, WINTER PRO, THE BEST VALUE/PRICE IN THE SEGMENT..
I would deffinetly look after Vredestein tires in the future :)

Driving on mostly town for 25000 spirited miles
Decent tires in dry conditions!! In wet roads, especially not well made ones, they are just average. It is clear that they do not deserve the money they cost and the prestige the have achieved!! On the other hand, they tend to last more than other "performance summer tires" even when driving on horrible greek roads, the inform the driver very well and they remain progressive!! All in all, I would not recommend them for fast and performance cars!!

Put these on the front of my Clio 182, cos I couldn't stand what I had on there before (Michelin Pilot Sport 3, which I moved to the back). WHAT A DIFFERENCE! If your car suffers from tramlining, these tires will cure the prob. Premium Contact 2s also handle better, and are more fun. Although a premium touring tire, and not a sports tire, at road speeds these are much more progressive on the limit and offer much more feel, feedback and communication than the supposedly superior premium sports tires I had on the front before. Had the same experience with Conti PC 2s on the front of an E36 328i I used to own - unrivalled fun. Not quite the grippiest tire there is, but the unequalled progression and feel etc. mean this tire might just be the best kept secret for fun at speeds you can tell a policeman about.

Fantastic tires!! better than the likes of Toyo or Dunflop. Had 2 ut on the front on recommendation from a tire place and never looked back, so much so i have now replaced the back 2 with them as well now, didnt get stuck in the snow, even when premium tired cars were stuck! handles like a dream on these, really progressive they do not suddenly let go even when driving like a spanner. fully recommend these!!!

Driving on mostly country roads for 7000 average miles
I fitted these tire's to a clio 182 a car which granted is quite hard on its front tires to start with they felt a vast improvement over the silly budget tires fitted before. They feel very competent in the dry plenty of feel not a lot of tire wobble great! In the wet they become unstuck on a very regular basis after just 1000 miles rendering the cars performance pointless. Most annoyingly though is the poor wear, they managed 6-7000 before dropping below the legal requirement, Despite there really very good dry performance I wouldn't by them again.
