Renault Clio 182 Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Giti GitiCompete GTR2 given 94% (195-50-15-)
Driving on track for 150 spirited miles
Used them on my Clio at Goodwood and once warm I had 100% confidence in them, more so than the 888’s in fact. Had a moment as they take a while to warm so I’d suggest they’d suit an open pit lane better, as took longer to get warm than say Nankang and the 888’s.

Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
Good ratio price/quality. I bought them as I knew they are quite soft, so they didn't last that long, but I'm used to this. Great dry grip, especially when they were new (I had some good starts at street racing, better then with T1R's). Don't have good feeling on the wet (especially when there is a lot of water on the road), but I could easily drive on highway with 130kph on rain.
Definitely will buy again. For me, they are the perfect compromise between semi-slicks and street tires.

Driving on mostly town for 5000 average miles
Can't fault the T1R's in the dry, loads of grip and feel confident in the bends on country roads. But the wet is a totally different story, they spin up with the littlest RPM and make the car understeer if your not careful. I'm not a fast driver but I defiantly slow sooner with these tires fitted (in the wet) than with the Conti's I had on before.

Writing about the Achilles 123S given 74% (205-40-17-W)
Driving on mostly motorways for 10000 average miles
Used three sets of 123s driving on mountain road and highway.
Good dry grip sustained until no tread depth, compared to
AD08 it's less stable during intense driving.
And the wear of tires are seriously may be related to the soft rubber.
It is still a good choice in economy.

Writing about the Uniroyal RainSport 2 given 84% (225-45-16-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 20000 average miles
Had an almost new set of these on the front when I purchased my car, after a 18 months and 20 k miles they finally need replacing. Had no issues in the wet or dry so will give the Rainsport 3s a go for sure!

Writing about the Nankang NS2R given 91% (195-50-15-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 spirited miles
Had these on my daily Clio 182 since April now, they have been utterly fantastic. Mine are the 180 tread wear rating.

The dry grip is superb, but not too much as to stop you having fun. Can still make the car very playful when you want it to be ;). I have given them plenty of abuse as I like to drive my car hard when the roads allow and they have never let me down, they can probably grip much more than my driving ability allows.

Had zero issues using them in wet weather, used them on a run up to Scotland in torrential rain and again, no issues whatsoever, in a lot of standing water they aqua plained a small amount but so did the Michelins and Pirellis so they are perfectly fine to use in wet conditions.

The rears still look like new after around 8000 miles and the fronts have another month or so left in them. The tread has worn evenly across the tire, I am running -1.5 camber on the front. Tire pressures up front I run them around 29 which allows them to warm up nicely.

I will have no doubts about purchasing these again when they are ruined on the front, this time I may buy the 120 tread wear rated ones and put them on the rear and put my current rear 180s on the front.

Overall, excellent tires and I much prefer using these over the normal high performance road going tires, especially for the price.
