Best Tires for the BMW X3

Initially not impressed...had a swift blowout type puncture in two weeks and a couple of others later on. Side walls seemed weak and easily damaged by the kerb. Ride comfort grip and noise levels were good as was economy. I also used them on proper African 4x4 tracks and they did very well.

Eventually right front had a slow leak I could not locate and given mileage I changed them for Falcon Wildpeak trails which are superb. Better comfort, durability and very little noise or increased fuel consumption.

Sharp handling, quiet, and comfortable. Develop flat spots after parking for a few days, gone after 10 mintues of driving.

Excelent tire, better response then the Contis I had before. low road noise.

Now nearly 2 years and 20k miles in. These tires are still as good as they were new and tread has only dropped to 5-6mm all round, suggesting >40,000 miles a set which is more than the OE Pirelli P7 summer tires managed. Have experienced winter slush and light snow without any grip issues, when the car felt stable and safe, but as I live on the south coast with regular trips to family in Yorkshire, they don’t need to be a dedicated winter tire. Economy unchanged around 45mpg overall, 50mpg on a motorway run. For my use, these have been very impressive and I would be happy to replace them with another set, although there may be even better choices in 3 years when these should be just about done.
