Fitment comes from each tire's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

We sold These Tires After 2-3 months. Absolute dangerous garbage. Poor grip in the dry, no grip in the wet so we didnt Even wait for the Winter and got rid of them.

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 185-60-15 Skoda Fabia 1.2 3,000 miles September 15, 2026

About a month ago, I fitted a set of Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance tires after the tire shop manager strongly recommended this specific model.
My previous tires were Apollo Alnac 4G in a different size, 195/55 R15, which is a much more budget-oriented tire. My rims officially support both sizes.
The Goodyears definitely feel better in terms of road noise and comfort over bumps compared with the Apollos.
However, I lost a huge amount of steering feel. The steering became vague, and the car no longer inspired any confidence if you wanted to drive in a more spirited way.
What surprised me even more was the grip. In the dry, I honestly cannot say they offer any noticeable improvement over my four-year-old Apollo tires with around 20,000 miles on them. In the wet they initially feel a little more stable, but they provide almost no feedback, so you never really know how much grip you have available.

Unfortunately, this became very clear while I was driving home on a wet downhill road before a dry turn. I entered the corner that would never have caused any concern with my previous tires and I have gone through many times, but I ended up having the first crash of my life. Thankfully, the damage was relatively minor and mostly cosmetic.

Initially, the car felt unable to hold the turn and started to slide. While keeping a steady steering input, the front suddenly regained grip, while the rear lost grip completely. The car then snapped into a much more violent oversteer instead of progressively recovering the grip, which is what I expected from the previous tires I had.
I somehow managed to somewhat straighten the car, but it was still sliding with very little grip until I eventually scraped a wall.
I am not claiming to be the best driver in the world, but I have experienced much worse situations in the past without such sudden and violent reactions from the car, regardless of the tires I was using.

As other reviewers have mentioned, these tires have a very soft sidewall which I found out after fitting them. In my experience, this takes away a lot of steering feedback and makes it difficult to understand what the tires are actually doing or how close you are to the limit.

Once I repair the car, these tires are coming off.

I xannot recommend these vrederstein tires higly enough. On safety ,fuel economy and dry and wet weather handling and safety . If they have any weakness it would be on tred wear. But at 90 pounds a tire i wil never drive on anything else.

Laufenn G Fit 4S 205-55-16 Skoda Fabia 1.2 1,500 miles April 11, 2026
After an accident in my previous car, I picked up a Skoda Fabia as a hack and it needed new tires on all four corners. The Laufenn was an unknown brand to me but found out they're Hankook related, so took a punt on them in Nov 25. Over winter, they were simply brilliant and I had to deal with six inches of snow, compacted snow and ice on 1:10 inclines in rural Staffordshire. I was literally driving around AWD suvs that were stuck on summer tires. After 1500 miles on them, they look brand new still and having done motorway, town, country I can safely say they're a good buy. They're comfortable, provide generally good feedback and aren't too loud on the motorway or A roads at speed. Not the sort of tire to be using to find the limits of any car but for everyday driving and good, predictably safe grip in all conditions, they're absolutely ideal, especially at the price point you'll find them at. Would I buy them again? Yep. Was I happy with the purchase just before winter, you betcha!

Excellent Value. is the easiest way I can describe these tires. They do perform above their price class, quite a bit. There are really not many complaints I can make, maybe they are not the sportiest tire in the cold dry but they are not meant to be that kind of tire anyway. When I switched to these tires my car had older set of kelbers (if I remember correctly) from the previous owner, but I had 2 close calls on snowy roads so I swapped to SAVA mid winter, and the difference was night and day. They even grip better in wet then my summer set of Matador Hectorra 3s. I highly recommend these tires as viable and safe budget winter tire.

Matador MP 47 Hectorra 3 165-70-14- Skoda Fabia 1.2 15,000 miles May 30, 2020
Matador tires are very popular budget brand in my country (Slovakia). Therefore pricing on these is really attractive and only reason for which I would consider them again. These tires are decent in the dry, but in rainy weather they get slippery, especially in colder conditions (7-15 C as it is still a summer tire). They are so bad in the wet that I am always looking forward to my Sava Eskimo hp2 when the autumn starts. and it does tell you something about a summer tire when it gives the driver less confidence then economy winter tire on the wet. Another complaint about these tires is the soft side wall, so I would strongly advise against these for a sporty drive. I regularly drive on these also in 205/50 R15 size, and they are slightly more bearable.

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 195-50-15- Skoda Fabia 1.2 7,000 miles May 28, 2017
Fitted to my Skoda Fabia on the front, seemed very good tires very grippy in the wet and dry especially traction wise. As they wore down below 3mm they started to loose grip and squeal when cornering. The biggest issue with these was despite me inflating them to the recommended 31psi, they wore heavily along the center tread line and within 7,000 miles they were down to the limits.
Very disappointed. Have replaced with Avon ZV7 which give much more feedback on the limit than the goodyears, hopefully will last a bit longer too.

Avon ZV5 205-45-16- Skoda Fabia 1.2 14,000 miles March 11, 2017
I bought the Fabia with Avon ZV5's all round and I can say I have never driven a car that tramlined so much on anything but smooth roads. The road noise seemed loud and the ride harsh. After having the tires and steering geometry checked and cleared I was advised the tires did not suit the car. I fitted Kumho Ku39's on the front and the car was transformed for the better. I'm now tempted to replace the rear Avons.

Kumho Ecsta KU39 205-45-16- Skoda Fabia 1.2 2,000 miles March 11, 2017
These Kumho's replaced a set of Avon Z5's on the front. There was an immediate difference with the tramlining gone, road noise lessened and ride harshness reduced. The handling and stopping in both wet and dry are excellent. I will be replacing the rear Avon's with Kumho Ku39's in due course.
